Nothing in this universe could ever be rated less than 5 stars. I take no criticism of this book series seriously because frankly you’re just wrong and I’m right, I don’t make the rules.

I am happy this has finally been uploaded to goodreads so I can give it the love it deserves. I enjoyed this short story so much more this time around. It’ll always be fascinating to me any of the Remdragon Knight’s back stories and how they came to the order. Ursuline is a character I don’t think you can begin to love until the Season 2 books. He is proud and opinionated and sure of himself. But that wasn’t always the case. He used to be a more timid kid trying desperately to escape the shadow of his older brother (who I hate deeply). Seeing his origins adds more depth to his character.

I am also always a sucker for more about Riftan. So of course I ate this up. Let’s be real we were all (including Ursuline and his father) in love with Riftan when he took his knightly vows… I mean wow. 10/10 experience. Greatly enjoyed. No notes.

Under the Oak Tree by Suji Kim (Under the Oak Tree #8.75)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 (A favourite; emotional, memorable, I’d happily reread it.)
Spicy Meter: 🚫/3 (No sexual content: Romance, relationships, tension—all fine—but nothing sexual. At most: kisses, fade-to-black, or implied intimacy.)

Final Thoughts & Review: A very short story that offers a deeper glimpse into Riftan’s attitude before his wedding, despite him not being the main focus. As a fan of Under the Oak Tree, this was another hit for me
