What if the only thing that can save the guarded cowboy is the thing he fears the most?
MONROE
At twenty-eight, Brooklyn jewelry designer, Monroe Everhart, has no family. Though the wounds of her beloved late father are fresh, she longs to know who her mother was. And now, thanks to a vintage photo of a woman, she may get her chance.
With nothing but a handwritten date and probable setting to go on, Monroe swaps the big city for small-town Montana. It’s completely opposite, but it takes no time for her to feel at home in the turn-of-the-century farmhouse she buys or the 1941 truck she affectionately names Gertie.
But as Monroe begins to settle in, she’s unaware of the broody cowboy across the creek from her. The one with a scowl and a gruff gaze.
She tells herself she doesn’t have time to entertain the nosedive her stomach makes, especially when her heart is still raw from her toxic ex. But it’s hard to ignore a man she shouldn’t be interested in.
KANE
It’s been six years since tragedy struck Kane Garrison. In the aftermath, he’s convinced himself that guarding his heart is the key to survival. And he’s mastered it—until he finds Monroe in need of help.
Nothing about meeting his new neighbor should be life-altering. But it is. She’s eleven years his junior, and perhaps it’s her light-hearted nature that shows Kane that life doesn’t always have to be lived alone.
He says he’s too old for her. Too closed off. Too…broken. But Monroe is the embodiment of what his future could be. But if Kane lets down his walls, will his heart end up getting roped?

I don’t think there anything Piper could write that I wouldn’t devour! This small town romance has all the right ingredients! Rough around the edges cowboy, city girl looking to uncover her past. I definitely recommend picking up Piper Collin’s newest book!
ARC Review: Thank you to Piper Collins and Naughty Nook PR for sending me an advanced copy of Roped to read and review.
This is the second book I’ve read where the MMC is a brand inspector, and there’s just something about that where he’s somewhere between cowboy and cop and speaks to me. I really enjoyed this book. I love the subplot of Monroe’s search for the truth regarding her mother, as well as the found family aspect of this book. Hazel, Kane’s niece, was an added dose of comic relief and sweetness. I loved the part where Monroe and Hazel made friendship bracelets. I loved getting to peel back the layers of Kane’s story. From the moment he came upon Monroe after she had hurt her leg, Kane’s protectiveness spoke to previous trauma, and you got little bits and pieces of that throughout the book until all was revealed. I loved Kane’s family and his banter with his brothers. I can’t wait to read the next book!
This was sent to me as an ARC and omg it was so good!!! I loved the fact that, even though there was an initial attraction, it was more a slow burn and the story played out over a few months. Monroe wanted answers about her family and in searching, she found a family. I loved the way Kane had both sides explored, his strong and professional manner but also his soft, caring and vulnerable side show that it's OK to not be ok.

Small-town steamy goodness! Monroe moved from the big city to a quiet farm and has been relaxed ever since. Starting over after her fathers passing, she pans for sapphires on her land and designs jewelry in her own shop. When she falls in the river and gets her foot stuck, she doesn't know what she'll do. Maybe the huge Lab that scared her in the first place will do like Lassie and go and get help. Kane is done for the day and it's only morning. He's a Livestock Inspector and getting done with a very large herd has left him tired and smelly. He loves living in the country but his mind won't shut down, too many memories of the past always flood in. When he gets home, he's greeted by his black Lab, Bill. He goes outside to cut wood and his dog alerts him to a woman in the river. A beautiful woman and she's stuck. From there, it's like a love song is just waiting to be written about them. Both sunshine and rain fall as they come to know each other. They both have a past they want to forget but can they open up enough to get past them and truly start over? He likes to be in control but she doesn't mind at all. The heat between them is intense but is it enough? Unanswered questions, PTSD, long lost secrets, found family and of course, lovable Bill! This was so good that I can't wait to read about his brothers finding their forever loves. This review is my opinion and is not AI generated.
Thank you to Piper Collins and Naughty Nook PR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
I am back with another small-town, cowboy romance!! Honestly, these just never get old. This particular book is the first in the Sapphire Valley Ranch series and was my first time reading something by this author. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading more! This book had many aspects that I really enjoyed. We have an age gap, small-town, cowboy, slow burn, and some spice! There is also a found family aspect here, which I enjoyed. The FMC, Monroe’s journey was really satisfying to watch, as she searched for the truth about her mother. Kane, the MMC, also had his share of hurdles to overcome, and it’s very clear he is dealing with some past trauma. The tension between these two was so satisfying for me because I love, love, love a good slow burn. But don’t worry, there are some spicy moments between them here, too! Overall, this was a great cowboy romance that makes me want to read the rest of the series!
Tropes: * Age Gap 39/28 * Small Town * Wounded Cowboy * City Girl * Friends With Benefits * Lesson in Roping & Riding * A Multi-Use Lasso * Found Family * Slow Burn
Oh my heart. I am absolutely wrecked in the best way possible after finishing Roped by Piper Collins. I picked it up thinking I’d read a few chapters before bed—and the next thing I knew, it was 3am and I was sitting in the dark, grinning like an idiot and crying over Kane and Monroe.
Monroe is such a breath of fresh air—sweet, determined, a little lost but so full of quiet strength. And Kane… lord help me. That grumpy, closed-off cowboy absolutely did me in. The way he tries to stay distant, the way he softens around her, the way he falls even when he’s fighting it… it’s everything I want in a slow-burn small-town romance.
Their chemistry? Off the charts but tender too—like every stolen glance, every accidental touch just meant something. I felt it in my chest. And the writing? So vivid I could smell the rain, feel the Montana air, and see that old truck, Gertie, like she was a character herself.
This story has heart, healing, and that perfect kind of ache that reminds you why you love love stories. Piper Collins knocked this one out of the park. I’m not kidding when I say I devoured it in one sitting and immediately wanted to start over.
Good read! There was angst, funny moments, amazing chemistry and 🔥 spice. Monroe & Kane ❤️ were a great couple. Kane was definitely a green flag book boyfriend , while Monroe was working on being an independent women but knew to ask for help when she truly needed it. And she knew she could always count on Kane.
“……and he’s wonderful and kind and caring and thoughtful and handsome and has such a big heart….”
“The immense privilege that came over me when he decided to share his demons with me. The intuitive ways Kane always knew to take care of me. The way I’ve changed since moving here. How Kane has taken small steps to move past the crippling tragedy that’s defined him for so long. “
Loved Bill & Hazel
No cheating, no OWD with a HEA

Roped by Piper Collins is a sweet, engaging contemporary romance that blends small-town charm with just the right amount of rodeo flair. From the start, the story pulls you in with its easy flow, relatable characters, and a romance that feels both fun and emotionally grounded. The connection between the leads is warm and natural—the kind that builds through shared moments, playful banter, and genuine vulnerability. Collins does a great job balancing the lighthearted country atmosphere with deeper emotional threads, creating a romance that’s comforting while still giving you something to feel. Some moments move quickly, and a few character decisions could have used a bit more depth, but the story’s heart shines through. It’s the kind of book that leaves you smiling, rooting for the couple, and appreciating the simplicity and sincerity of a contemporary love story. A cozy, chemistry-filled 4-star read perfect for fans of modern cowboy romance.
A heartfelt and compelling story of healing and new beginnings, Roped: Beautifully contrasts city life with the raw, quiet charm of rural Montana. The novel follows Monroe, a jewelry designer seeking to uncover her roots after the loss of her father. Her journey to a small town is both an escape and a quest for identity, and you can't help but root for her as she buys a charming farmhouse and a vintage truck, determined to start anew. The true tension and warmth of the story ignite with the introduction of Kane, her brooding cowboy neighbor. Haunted by his own past, Kane is a perfectly crafted grump to Monroe’s sunshine. Their dynamic is a slow burn, filled with palpable chemistry and the poignant struggle of two wounded people wondering if they can risk loving again.

thank you to the author, publisher, and Naughty Nook PR for the eARC
overall i had a great time with roped and another great yeehaw pickup
my only nitpick is that during the 3rd act breakup i found monroe to be over her head and just not thinking clearly and that led me to not enjoy it as much during the last 20% ish
my pettiness would've also liked it if mason had a better downfall rather than just a slap on the wrist (in my opinion) just because what? his sister blackmailed him with his video that his ex gave her? ugh please..
note: last 2ish pages had accidental pregnancy and i was just over it

Sigh, I wanted to love this one. It started out so promising but also kind of dragged on. The relationship just didn’t feel real to me. I found myself rolling my eyes at their conversations, it was predictable and over done. Coming from someone who doesn’t read a lot of romances and has only read a handful of cowboy romances, it’s concerning. The pacing also felt a bit off to me. I just slowly and increasingly lost interest in the story. Things also resolved so easily to the extent that the conflict was silly and no character growth happened. I wanted more from this and it just didn’t deliver.
I loved this book!!! Kane is a grumpy closed off cowboy with a big heart, Monroe is sweet and a little bit closed off and i wanted to give them both a hug.
Monroe is what Kane needed. Kane and Monroe’s chemistry is instant and off the charts and the spice 🥵🥵🥵🥵!!
I also loved Kane’s family and his niece Hazel was too cute! I will be adding this book to my collection. Thank you Piper and Naughty Nook PR for letting me be part of the ARC team!!
Rating: 5 ⭐️ What to expect: Cowboy x city girl, small town, age gap, opposites attract, round family, slow burn, trauma x healing
I’m obsessed with Sapphire Valley Ranch! Roped was everything I wanted and more. Monroe and Kane’s story was emotional, heartfelt, and beautifully written — two people healing from their pasts and finding peace in each other. The found family dynamic was incredible, and every character added so much depth to the story. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to dive into more from this series!
Monroe and Kane were amazing. They both had to work through some things. Monroe was refinding herself and was making a new life for herself. Even though she thought was alone. I loved how free she felt. Once she started getting her connections with Kane and his family and Presley. Kane had his own things to work through and I love how he found a way through it with the help of Monroe and leaning on her.
Kane and Monroe both have tragic backgrounds. Monroe has moved to town to find information about her mother following the death of her father. Kane is going through the motions following an unspoken tragedy in Denver. Monroe is also recovering from a breakup with a complete douche bag!! Can't wait to see where this series goes with the remaining Garrison boys. I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
From the first chapter, I knew this book would lasso my heart and I’d be as roped as our FMC finds herself!
The tension, the slow burn, the chemistry, i couldn’t get enough! The heartbreak, the healing, the ptsd rep, it was all absouletly executed with perfection!
The plot is there, the pace is set at a mediumish one and the flow is nicely done!
With no hesitation, I’d recommend this book over and over!
Roped is a small town, cowboy, opposites attract, slow burn, steamy romance and is book 1 in the Sapphire Valley Ranch Series. This is broody cowboy with the most nurturing, caring side. I absolutely loved the characters in this story. The opposites attract trope really worked well here to help build that tension between the characters. Both Monroe and Kane's personalities were so well done. They felt like real down to earth people you could relate to. Kane is definitely a green flag!!
ARC review - 3.75/5 - This was a really cute cowboy book. Although it reminded me of many others I’ve read, I enjoyed the pop culture references and the grumpy/sunshine trope. The book set it up nicely for the other brothers/half sister to get their own books in the series and I’ll definitely continue the series!
This was such an amazing rollercoaster of emotions - the delicious slow burn of a romance, the cozy small town vibes and the emotional past. All wrapped up in one great read. If this speaks to you, be sure to check it out!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
✨Tropes✨ 💜Wounded Cowboy x City Girl 💛Small Town 💜Age Gap 💛Opposites Attract 💜Slow Burn 🌶️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was a good slow burn small town romance. The characters were well-written. Morgan is so sweet yet strong. I love a good grumpy cowboy and Kane fits the bill. Their chemistry was off the charts. The banter was really good. This story is about healing and finding the love that gets you there.
I’ve packed my bags and am headed to Sapphire Valley. I absolutely loved this book from the first page to the last. Between laughing to crying I was all in for Kane and Monroe’s story. The mystery of both MCs past kept me on my toes which I loved.
Why is it the cowboy romances are always so swoon worthy? Maybe a little bit of baggage but authors just know what a cowboy is it seems and Kane is no exception to this. Strong FMC to give him a run for his money and some scenes that gives a person ideas
I didn’t expect to fall so hard for a cowboy romance, but here I am completely roped in by Piper Collins’ slow-burn masterpiece, pun intended.
From the moment Monroe Everhart rolled into Sapphire Valley in her vintage truck “Gertie,” I was hooked. As someone who’s always dreamed of trading city chaos for small-town charm, I felt like I was living vicariously through her. Her grief, her longing to uncover her mother’s past, and her quiet resilience made her feel like a friend I wanted to protect.
And then there’s Kane Garrison. Broody, guarded, and heartbreakingly tender beneath all that gruffness. The age gap, the emotional walls, the way he tries to push Monroe away, it all made their connection feel so earned. I found myself whispering “just let her in” every time he retreated. Their chemistry is magnetic, but it’s the emotional depth that truly got me.
Piper Collins doesn’t hold back once Monroe and Kane cross that line; the tension that’s been simmering explodes into scenes that are passionate, intense, and emotionally charged. It’s the kind of spice that makes you pause, reread, and maybe fan yourself a little. The chemistry is palpable, the payoff is worth the wait, and the steam level lands solidly in the “yes, please” category. If you’re here for the sizzle, you won’t be disappointed.
Roped isn’t just a romance, it’s a story about healing, about finding home in unexpected places, and about choosing love even when it scares you. The Montana setting is vivid and cozy, and the supporting characters add just the right amount of warmth and humor.
If you love opposites-attract stories with heart, grit, and a touch of vintage charm, Roped will steal your heart. I’m already counting down the days until the next Sapphire Valley Ranch book drops.
A huge thank you to Piper Collins and Naughty Nook PR for the early copy!
