Following the success of her debut book, Edge of Wonder, Victoria Erickson once again captures the heart's attention in this enlivening collection of poetry and musing. While her writings in this book radiate afresh and new wonder, they continue to showcase Erickson's unforgettable and infectious zeal for life. The reader feels called away from the mundane and inconsequential by her trademark blend of poetic grace and electrifying enthusiasm. Rhythms and Roads will do more than enchant one's soul and inspire; it promises to awaken memories long forgotten and to breathe into them a spirit of lively possibility. This exhilarating collection is the perfect companion for anyone ready to break cages and fall into a sea of deep, soulful, courageous living.
Naturally, I spend most of my time with words. I write for myself. I edit other peoples’ content. I help brands and individuals inject creativity into their public personas, speeches, and books. I work with soon-to-be brides and grooms to find the perfect selection of sentences for their vows. I spent years as a ghost writer writing behind other people’s names, have written fifteen children’s books for a media company, and have also worked with various local magazines and newspapers.
I love the way the sound, shape and texture of words can move off of a page and through a body, weaving through one’s veins, circling to the heart.
I have an extensive background in holistic healing and skincare so also believe in wildness and wellness. Everything I do stems from these two words, for they are the two words that make up a life filled with fuel, with wisdom and with beauty.
When you’re creating and choosing paths from a primally intuitive place, life can be wondrously free, fiery, energetic, and extraordinary. I know. Seems impractical. But it’s real, tried, and true.
This just wasn't for me. I can see how many others would love and appreciate this, but right now this collection just wasn't for me. I didn't feel much depth or connection, except to maybe one or two of them.
I will say, I think here's a lot of potential here. I'd pick up other things by this author but this just wasn't for me ☹️
Reading this book is an enlightening experience. It’s awake, it’s out there, it breathes the story of our lives. It’s relatable it’s simple. Thank you Victoria Erickson once again for writing this book.
This writing speaks to my heart so deeply. I adore every poem in this book. Highly recommend this to anyone who loves the achingly beautiful pull of finely crafted language.
Victoria is a language goddess. Her words are profound, moving, deep and brilliant. Her poetry is so poignant and purposeful, it might be the only therapy one ever needs on this earth.
Victoria Erickson writes with beautiful attention to detail and intuitive insight. The poems with water imagery were my favorite as they featured vivid sensory details and metaphors about human nature.
Stunning . So free and so honest and full of passion and openness . Victoria's words make me wish to always continue living every delicious second of my life with my arms wide open ....
Rhythms and Roads by Victoria Erickson is another great book of poetry. Her poetry is thought provoking and beautifully written. It’s a great coffee table book to return to every now and again.
Victoria Erickson brings light and love to your world when you read her words. She is thought provoking about the simple things in life that really do matter. She has become a favorite poet for me!
a lovely collection of short poems that read like affirmations, many interesting images discussing creativity, love, fear, transformation in terms of music, writing, water, the sky, the moon.
A book that allows you to ache for the road to find your own inspiration with words without feeling quilty of it. A creative poet that opens us into her beautiful world. A fun rollercoaster ride of unlimited words.
