When the patient’s song ends, the paramedic’s fight begins.
Dean Flynn has saved lives in the worst of conditions—gunfights, supernatural plagues, even demon attacks—but nothing prepared him for losing a patient to a magical backlash that nearly takes him with it. Now, this seasoned paramedic of Station U finds himself battling more than grief. His mind is haunted, his magic is fractured, and every call feels like a countdown to the next disaster.
When a lead surfaces in the form of Lydia, a siren with a voice that can heal or charm the soul, Dean dares to hope for a cure. But Lydia isn’t what he’d hoped and now he faces enemies both human and Unusual. From Maryland ambulance bays to ancient Scottish shores, Dean must navigate deadly creatures, Unusual politics, and his own spiraling doubts.
The clock is ticking, and in the world of Unusual medicine, failure isn’t just fatal—it’s contagious.
Packed with high-stakes rescues, supernatural danger, and the humor that’s kept Dean sane in a city where the impossible calls 911, The Paramedic’s Siren is a pulse-pounding ride through the beauty and the darkness of the Unusual world.

Enjoyed reading as both a paramedic and a nurse who treats pt's with PTSD I could identify with the premise and as always Jamie's world is an enjoyable one to live in for awhile.
Oh i love this series.....this time Dean is in need of help after being affected by the death of a patient...We often forget that those taking care of us , and those of us taking care of someone, also need help..putting others first again and again is taking a toll even more when it can't prevent death.....yes being there for dying people is important but it does affect the living. I loved how it was explained with a fantasy and magical setting hopefully it may help some along the way.
Dean is overwhelmed and to find the right help he must travel to...Scotland! It was fun to discover new paranormal being and see how it was on the other side of the ocean when he is learning more about himself.
I adore this series. As always, Jamie Davis has given us a glimpse into another world. A world where the paranormal exists and really needs a good paramedic! Our protagonist finds himself in need of help and has to cross an ocean to find it. If you’ve not read the series I recommend starting from the beginning. If you have read the series then you’ll love this one just as much as you did the others. I had already preordered when I was given an ARC copy. I do not regret that preorder because this author deserves the $$$.
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a book in this series, so I was excited to read this one. Dean has a curse activated against him with a death on a run as a paramedic. There is a way to get rid of it, but it requires a trip to the UK, working with a siren, and coming to grips with the stages of life always include death. I loved this latest installment, where Dean kind of goes through a reset, but in a very good way. I’m looking forward to seeing how his journey translates into future books and his work life. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I enjoy all of Mr. Davis' 'Paramedic' books. In fact, it's one of a very few series that I eagerly follow. This one was a breath of fresh air, a lovely healing interlude in the extreme high stakes plots leading into it. That doesn't diminish this book's impact or importance to the series as a whole. I'm looking forward to the next on, in November!
No, seriously, I was pleasantly surprised at the dedication to the story and then the follow through of Dean working through his PTSD in the Scottish highlands. After so many stories dealing with disastrous Armageddons, this tale of internal mental strife was a great story. This is one of my favorites of Jamie’s books!
This is one of my favorite series. This book was awesome Red. I love all the characters so much in these books and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book to come out ! Jamie Davis is a great author and if you have not tried his books or the series deaf, I would definitely recommend it . It’s always a great adventure !
This started off with some scary things going on with Dean, and then he went to Scotland to find a cure. I really enjoyed the emotional growth here and look forward to hearing about Dean and his family.
By the way Hamish and Alexander are great characters.
