Thank you to Jules Kyle and Luna Literary Management for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. Hopelessly Yours is out now!

It's been a long while since I read a royal romance. I honestly don't remember the last time I read one with royalty! When I saw this book to request on Luna Literary's PR website, I knew this was a sign, and this was absolutely refreshing and heartfelt.

Prince Oliver Courtwright is in a bind. Sure, he's about to become the next king, but due to the marriage law in the country, he has to be engaged before his coronation. He hatches a plan to find his fianceé and future queen, fast: a dating competition to see who can win his heart. When his old flame from college, Adelaide Levy, is one of the women in competition for his hand (albeit unwillingly), old memories resurface for both of them as they try not to catch feelings (again). They only need to stay together long enough to get the marriage law abolished and bring more awareness to the underserved communities that Adelaide teaches in. Feelings will definitely NOT be part of the equation as they work to better their communities...right?

I legitimately think that the sole reason this book was a 4-star read for me was the fact that Oliver is literally the most green flag MMC I've ever read about. He's definitely in my top 5 green flag MMCs out of all the many, many romances I've read in the last year. He's nothing but kind, gentle, understanding, and open-minded. (Bonus points because he's definitely a champion of women's rights as well!) Yes, all of these are qualities of a good ruler, but he's also not afraid to put someone in their place when he needs to, which is a bonus. He never had a giant ego because he was royalty, and never once did I think he was using his title to his advantage to get what he wanted. He was the perfect match for Laidie for sure! He was so gentle with her and didn't care if she wanted to take things slow. He never got upset with her or blamed her for her health conditions (which I'll get to in a bit), and he accepted her for who she is.

I also loved Laidie so much, and I wanted to give her a big hug the entirety of the book. I loved her mission and commitment to helping underserved communities in the area that she teaches grade school. She's smart, determined, and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty for a purpose and a cause that she supports and cares about. She and Oliver truly were the best people for each other, and they complemented each other and supported each other through everything.

This goes hand in hand with what was already mentioned, but I appreciate how the authors handled the topics of infertility and miscarriages. I know those topics are very heavy and sensitive topics for some, so this book may not be for everyone. While I can't personally relate to either of those topics, the amount of research that the authors did to include these topics in the story with as much care as they did was something I appreciated. The topic of male infertility was also brought up in the story, and while it wasn't something that directly affected any of the characters, I did like how it was something that was mentioned because it is a side of the topic of infertility that isn't always addressed because...well, society.

The only thing I took a star off my rating for was the flashbacks. Oliver and Laidie's story is a second-chance romance, and for me, I think to really sell the idea of a second-chance romance, you have to be able to provide enough background information and flashbacks to those moments from the first time the two MCs get together and fall in love for me to believe that the second time around is believable and that the feelings are all still there. We get some flashbacks at the beginning of the story, and then....nothing. It just jumps to the present day. The flashbacks go back to Oliver and Laidie's college days, where Laidie was tutoring Oliver for his Spanish class. While I can sense the romance and the feelings they had for each other, there were time jumps within those flashbacks to the point where we just had to assume that the feelings were growing off-page and behind the scenes. We got a few moments of them interacting in college, but that was it.

While this was my first book from Jules Kyle, this definitely won't be my last! I enjoyed reading this a lot, and I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series in the future.

I thought I was a Knox girl until I read about King Oliver. GOOD LORD. I love a second chance romance, so after reading about Adelaide and Oliver's history from their uni days was so nice to see. I also really enjoyed the prologue being in recent past to also connect the dots that while uni was 8 years ago, their recent history was really just a few months prior to present day.

Now, back to Oliver, he really was THAT MAN. The yearning, the support, his monologues had me swooning. We knew after reading Royally Yours that he was someone special, but the level in which readers were able to really learn more about him and his family had him pretty much jumping off the page.

I also really enjoyed Adelaide's chapters as she struggled to keep her feelings in the little boxes where she believed they should reside. It was real and there were so many times where I really related to her. I'm just waiting for my second chance romance with someone who happens to be royalty and kind. I shall keep dreaming, I guess.

As a woman with PCOS myself, a lot of the struggles and thoughts that Adelaide had, I went through myself after my diagnosis. People don't realize how isolating and hopeless it can make you feel, especially when you don't have a partner to work through it with. It just hit close to home and I didn't realize how much that acknowledgement/representation in a book would mean to me.

I love this series and it will be an immediate buy for me forever. I also just supported their kickstarter for Royally Yours's audiobook and I just wish everyone would pick this series up. It's that good.

Thank you to Luna Literary for the opportunity to read this for my review. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thank you to Jules Kyle and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this fun story.

If you love Princess Diaries and The bachelor, give this story a go!

Oliver Courtwright was second in line for the throne. The Spare. Until one night, a night he thought he would reconnect with the one that got away, his whole world turned upside down. Now, he has to get her to agree to a fake engagement to save his throne.

Adelaide Levy opened her heart once, and she got burned. Since that night in college, she's kept her heart guarded and worked for everything she has. She loves her teaching job, her best friend, and her cat. Who needs the boy who broke her heart 8 years ago? Not Adelaide, or so she thinks until he reappears one night and now she's agreed to pose as his fiancée so he can keep his crown. But can these two stick to “Friends” or will the line between fake and reality blur?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The second chance at the one that got away was perfect. The way the characters reconnected and their relationship grew was fantastic. I loved getting to see them dance around their feeling and then finally give in *insert school girl squeal*. I even enjoyed the insight into the mindset of Adelaide and her struggle with PCOS. It's heartbreaking. But Oliver, gawd, that man! He does everything he can to make her feel loved and understand she's not broken. I loved the flashbacks and back and forth in POV. It built the mystery of why they broke apart and ended up where they are now. But…and this very well be because I did not read book 1 beforehand…it felt disjointed to me. We'd get really into a scene with our characters and a big event would happen, then the next chapter would say “some weeks later.” It felt hard to buy into the growth and dynamic of the characters. It was almost like the end of a TV episode and then next chapter you were along a different major event with no connection between. Overall it was a solid story and I would still suggest this book if you'd like a modern day Royal Romance with a touch of The Bachelor mixed in.

Tropes:
Royal Romance
Second Chance
Fake Engagement
Friends to Lovers
He Falls First
Found Family
Infertility Rep

Favorite Quotes:
"This woman. God, she had no idea that she was quickly becoming the cornerstone for me in all of this. How could she not know that there was no way that I would be able to do this without her?”

““No. Not at all. That woman right there”— I nodded toward Adelaide—“ is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Saying ‘I do’ to her isn’t scary at all.”

“She was my everything, my anchor, the reason I stayed firm in the storm of the last few months. With her by my side, I knew I could be a better man, a better partner, and a better king.”

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The above opinions are my own.

First and foremost, Thank you to the Author(s) Jules Kyle for allowing me the opportunity to read this book!
This is book 2 in the Wextone Royals series (can be read as a standalone, but best to read Royally Yours first)

Oliver and Adelaide 😍 this was the cutest romance story with lots of spice and banter.
A second chance at love and with some real topics that you don’t see a lot of in books

Oliver - he was the sweetest throughout this story, he is a King who needs to find a wife (even if it’s for show) so who better to pick than the one who got away!! Their story started in college when him and Adelaide really connected and he thought they could be something more. Years later they reconnect and he still has the same feelings he had and to prove it to her he remembers the little things she likes and makes sure that she is comfortable with everything going on throughout everything and respects her boundaries.

Adelaide - In college she fell hard for the prince when he ghosted her (or so she thought) so she spent years avoiding him at all costs, that is until her dad signs her up for the royal contest to find Oliver a wife… she remains guarded throughout all the events until one night Oliver strikes a deal. She struggles to commit because she has issues with fertility and thinks she is unworthy because she can’t produce an heir.

Oliver proves to her that love is all he needs and that even in her struggles nothing else matters!

I love the representation of infertility, diversity and being differently abled in these characters, it brings real life into these stories that people can relate to, I know I could relate and having had a miscarriage myself. (But I now have 2 wonderful children after that)

Thank you to Luna Literary Management for giving me the opportunity to read this book and share my thoughts!

This book was such a fun read and I was really invested in the characters and their relationship. This story had a lot of tropes that I look for in books and this book delivered on them perfectly! I love the "he falls harder" trope and really enjoyed seeing how Oliver looked at Addie like she hung the stars and the moon and how he helped encourage her and support her throughout their relationship! I enjoyed the humor and the openness that Oliver and Addie had with each other and seeing how their relationship developed both in present time and through flashbacks. Sometimes I am not a fan of flashbacks and time jumps since they can sometimes be confusing but this story did a really good job of keeping the flashbacks easy to follow. I also liked that even though there was some miscommunication between the two characters, it got resolved quickly and didn't turn into a drawn out ordeal. The miscommunication contributed to the story and helped add to the relationship in story. At first, Addie thought that Oliver was a jerk due to things that had happened in the past, but as the story goes on she starts to see that he's not what she expected, and that realization helps her open up to him more and more and it was lovely to see their relationship grow!

I appreciated the fact that the authors included information and statistics about infertility issues. I think bringing awareness to these issues is very important!

This story would be great for those who love royal TV shows like Victoria, The Crown and The Royals!

ARC Review -

If you’re looking for a King to sweep you off your feet with so much love and endearment but also can spice it up in the bedroom and can hold his own with some good banter, this book is for you!

Oliver & Adelaide have history all the way back to primary school and then while at uni, Adelaide finds herself as being Oliver’s tutor to so much more. After not speaking to each other for about 8 years due to a misunderstanding they find each other again.

Oliver has to become married to take the throne. He decides convincing the one who got away, Adelaide is the best option to help him out. Adelaide just needs to become his finance for 6 months and then Oliver will then abolish the marriage law before they are due to get married. In return he will help her with one of her passions to continue to assist her students families.

Adelaide knows she can accomplish this request by keeping her heart secured, she has a mission to do it for her students families and won’t fall in love. At least that is what she thinks.

The more time Oliver and Adelaide spend together the more they see they were given an opportunity for a second chance. Oliver sweeps Adelaide off her feet, showing her so much care and love with her concerns of not being able to have children.

I definitely loved the diversity in this book, it was my first Royal romance and won’t be my last.

ARC Review ❤

4.5 ❤ - I'm a fan of Royal romances from the beginning, this trope have a very special place from my heart and I'm thankful for the author to select me for the ARC team and introducing me to a great love story.

to be honest I didn't read Royally Yours, but I'm fully convinced to read it now. Oliver and Adelaide are great together, their chemistry, their understanding are next level. The tropes of the book are the mostly loved - second chance, friends to lovers, fake engagement, and mainly he falls first and harder.

I deeply connect with Adelaide and her thoughts, feelings in this one as I'm myself diagnosed with PCOS and having a supportive partner with this situation helps your emotions in check. The lack of confidence, insecure feelings, overthinking and many other emotions we feel as women with PCOS and I'm glad that the authors have put these struggles out in the open to spread the awareness.

And, Oliver...... man oh man! he is the dream partnee any girl would ask for. His protectiveness, his love, his caring nature, his overall personality despite being a Royal 😘

This is a must read for everyone who loves Royal romance, founding family and fake engagement tropes and you will definitely fall for Oliver and Adelaide..... #Adel-Ever

Thank you Luna Literary Management for my advance copy of Hopelessly Yours by Jules Kyle in exchange for my honest review.

👉This is book 2 of Wexstone Royals, however, this can be read as a complete standalone!

We have Prince Oliver needing to find himself a Queen in order to take the throne from his father due to a very outdated law. He suggests a competition style event and his childhood friend, Adelaide, happens to end up in it. She also once tutored him in college and things got...spicy between them.

Regardless of their past, Oliver approaches Adelaide and suggests they have a fake engagement until he can repeal the law and then they can end it before a marriage can actually take place...but he hopes before that time runs out he can make Adelaide fall in love with him!

Oh yes, this is a swoony royal read! And 🔥spicy🔥 so be prepared! 🥵🌶

Trigger warning: this book deals with the topic of infertility. I actually thought it was very powerful and done quite well. I like the awareness they brought to the sensitive topic and make sure you read the author note after the story about it.

5 stars. I feel like if you have Celine Dion song references in your book, it's an automatic 5 star read 😂.

This was such a fun, easy, sweet read. And I mean that in the best way! Sometimes second chance romance makes me nervous and I get embarrassed or stressed for the characters, but there wasn't much tension or like bad feelings between the two which I appreciated. They handled the reunion and explanation of the confusion well. And when I say this book is sweet, I am referring more to the swoony, friends to lovers vibes because make no mistake, there is definitely spice!

Great examples of both found and the royal family was fun to see again, but not like the stuffy judgey kind of royal. I loved seeing more of Oliver’s little sister & grandmother, they were hilarious and such great side characters. I also enjoyed seeing Oliver’s mom involved with the wedding stuff. A little bit of time jumping with showing their college years, and their reunion and then the engagement, but it blended very nicely, the authors did a great job with making it seamless. I thought they handled the infertility aspect well, I loved Oliver’s speech about how many people infertility affects, and thought the explanation about the epilogue was great!

This is book 2 in the Wextone Royals series, you can totally read out of order, I was lucky enough to ARC both and enjoyed them !.

Thank you Luna Literary for the ARC!

Thoroughly enjoyed book 2 of the Wexstone Royals! I love when authors tie books together and give each main character couple their own story and background with the other characters appearing in the book as well. It's so fun!!

Oliver and Adelaide truly seem like a very grounded, mature, and sexy couple. I love how supportive they are of one another and how the eventual fake relationship turned into so much more. It was lovely to read the development of all that, and it was enjoyable to read their past as well.

I appreciate the author's sensitivity to the triggering subjects that were a theme throughout the book. Even though they were themes, I really liked that the author didn't make it their entire personality and harped on it every chapter. It was something you knew in the back of your mind, but it wasn't like LOOK AT ME all the time. You can tell that the author was very well-versed with these subjects, and it's something I appreciate because there is nothing worse than an author that inserts these TW into books but lightly graze the surface of it and diminish the trauma.

I hope Jules Kyle write more in this series because I would love to devour more! Just like Oliver devours Adelaide (HAHA)...that's a nod to how SPICY the scenes are. Oh my gosh, gimme more! Lolol

This was a satisfying mix of royal pressure, second chance romance and slow-burning emotion.

The premise pulls you in straight away, a prince on the brink of becoming the king, bound by outdated laws and forced into a fake engagement with the woman he never quite moved on from. The story leans into the emotional history between them and really makes it count.

Oliver is easy to understand, beneath the duty and expectation, there is a man trying to do the right thing for his country while quietly carrying years of unresolved feelings. His restraint and sense of responsibility add a lot of weight to his character, especially as those old emotions start creeping back in.

Adelaide was the standout for me, strong, grounded and driven by her own values, which makes her decision to agree to the engagement feel believable rather than convenient. I loved that she did not just fall back into old patterns with Oliver, she holds her boundaries even when it would be easier not to and that tension really elevates their story.

The chemistry between them builds gradually during their fake engagement, rooted in shared history and unspoken regret. There is a softness to their interactions that contrasts nicely with the public pressure surrounding them. Watching them relearn each other, confront their past and slowly let their guards down was where this story really shined. The political stakes add an extra layer without overshadowing the romance, if anything they highlight what they are willing to sacrifice and that makes the emotional payoff even stronger.

Overall, this is a heartfelt, engaging second chance romance with just the right amount of angst, tenderness and royal drama to keep you hooked.

Hopelessly Yours by Jules Kyle, provided via The Author Agency, is a royal romance that blends second-chance elements with a structured fake relationship dynamic.

The story follows Adelaide and Prince Oliver, who reconnect eight years after nearly developing a relationship during their university years. Their shared history adds depth to the narrative, particularly as unresolved feelings resurface.

The central premise revolves around a six-month fake relationship designed to serve Oliver’s goal of securing his position as a future leader. This setup creates consistent tension, especially given their agreement to avoid falling for each other.

Adelaide’s motivations, particularly her desire to support her students’ families, add a meaningful layer to her character and influence her decisions throughout the story.

The combination of forced proximity, lingering emotional connection, and royal expectations contributes to an engaging and well-paced narrative.

Overall, this is a solid and enjoyable romance that delivers familiar tropes in a satisfying way.

I was kindly given an ARC of Hopelessly Yours and this was so good! I really enjoyed reading this, it’s made me realise I want to read more royal romances! Oliver and Adelaide were so good together, I loved their friendship and chemistry, they were truly so good together. Oliver was so sweet and humble and he was so protective!! I loved him, he was so supportive and kind and understanding. I did feel for Oliver because he had a lot of pressure and had been thrown into the role of king but he handled it well and was such a good leader. Adelaide was so sweet and supportive, she’s a hard worker and she saw Oliver through it all and they really were so cute together. I loved seeing their story play out, it was so beautiful and written well. a really good read! (thank you to Jules Kyle and Luna Literary Management for the ARC, all opinions are my own)

I loved book one and book two did not disappoint! I loved the movement back and forth that gave the background to Ollie and Laidie’s relationship. The inclusion of the characters from book one was just enough in this story and were weaved in seamlessly. The way the authors were able to take in tough topics like infertility, religion and world events was so well done, I was smiling to myself during Ollie’s coronation at how beautiful the various religious leaders were involved. There is a sweet part in the book where the ladies bring their favorite books and I was dying at the “kiss of the basilisk” reference. This was a beautiful love story that was told very sweetly and I really enjoyed this book! Not sure if there will be any other Wexford books (hint, hint Rosie), but I’m here for it!

A royal story of a second chance at love, full of charm, real topics and banter. The plot aligns with Book One: a completion is developed to find Prince Oliver a wife. However, Oliver has harbored feelings for his old fame that got away, Adelaide. The foundation of Oliver and Adelaide’s destiny was provided with flashbacks, contrasted to their struggles to face their true feelings in present time. She is guarded, he is persuasive and patient. I was drawn into their story as they skirted around their rekindled mutual feelings, eventually reaching their happily ever after. I appreciated how infertility and self-doubt were represented—really life with a royal twist.

**This is an ARC, of which, I’m very grateful to have received.** 4.25 true rating

Firstly, giving them the backstory they did, it feels almost second chance, while also dabbling in the miscommunication trope.

Usually, I’m not a super big fan of miscommunication, because please, we’re adults. HOWEVER! This miscommunication definitely came centered around a pretty big insecurity for Adelaide. I can forgive this one. Is it pretty? No. But does Oliver continually be such a green flag from start to finish? Yes.

Adelaide is described as such a sweet girl with a big heart, and to have such an insecurity is absolutely crippling. And Oliver? Definitely is a man, sheesh.

But, I will be giving the first book in this series a fair shot too, since I did relatively enjoy this one. (:

Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC of Hopelessly Yours by Jules Kyle!

Oliver and Adelaide’s story is a fantastic follow up book in The Wexstone Royals universe! After Birdie falls in love with Knox during the trial search for a finance for Prince Oliver, we are left to focus on Adelaide and how she fits in with Oliver and his royal world. GASP! She was his tutor in College and they were once childhood acquaintances. But a misunderstanding on the eve of Oliver’s College commencement leads to 8 years of separation. But once again, Adelaide finds herself directly in Oliver’s path. When Oliver offers marriage in exchange of support to Adelaide’s community efforts - angst and tension ensue. All in the midst of some devastating medical news for Adelaide. Will their love survive to the end?

Jules Kyle just keeps getting better and I'm so in love with the world of Wexstone that they've created. Their characters have such amazing depth and the friendships and found family they have created are so fulfilling to read about.

Hopelessly Yours is Oliver and Adelaide’s second chance romance. Their story is sweet and the flashbacks to their uni days gives a peek into what went sideways when they were together eight years ago.

Oliver needs to be engaged before his coronation that is days away. He gets the idea to asks his old girlfriend to fake being his fiancé for six months, long enough to get rid of the out dated bylaw. He just needs to avoid falling in love again with the one who got away.

Adelaide is so supportive when it comes to Oliver. The perfect person he needs by his side. She agrees to the fake engagement, so she can get help with the community

Book Two in the Wexstone Royals series!

Oliver and Adelaide, their story is a second chance romance with spice and banter and a connection that will get them through anything.

She thinks he ghosted her, she’s done everything she can to avoid him, he still has feelings for her and needs to find a wife in order to be King. Her dad enters her into the contest to find him a wife, they strike a deal. What will happen now? Can they reconnect? Will they take their second chance and run with it?

The representation of infertility in this book was done very well. I love how he made sure she knew, no matter what happened, she was still enough.

I’d recommend this book!

Oh boy! This books! For fans of The Prince and Me (thank you Julia Stiles 🙌) and the Selection Series (‼️‼️), you HAVE to read this book! Be warned, this is not an YA book and it starts off with a bang (IYKYK 😜)!
If you know me, you know I am a sucker for a fake dating/fake engagement, so I knew I had to read this book. This is book two of the Wexstone Royals series, and I don't feel like I missed anything by not reading book one. The timeline jumps around a bit, but that makes it a bit more intriguing to follow along.

This was such a good story! Yes it was hallmark with added spice, but it was so much more. Adelaide is one of the sweetest characters I’ve ever read. She is genuine to the core. Your heart breaks for her when she gets the PCOS diagnosis watching how that diagnosis changes her is truly heartbreaking. Oliver is one of the most genuine MMC is that you’ll ever read. From the very beginning, he loves Adelaide so much in the way he supports her and discredits all her fears just makes you wanna cry. I love this story.

I received an ARC.

A second chance romance with strangers to friends to lovers. The royalty aspect with future king and regular woman I thought was perfect. Also he falls first and he falls hard.

Oliver unfortunately was dealt some bad luck but he made the best of it. And truly worked out with him getting his dream girl.

Adelaide I thought was a very nice character also so funny thinking about how she just lived a normal life in their city then everything changes.

As I read more I fell in love more as did their love. Overall I really would like to go back and read book one before this one just to have them in order. But definitely a stand alone book too. The love written in this story felt true and heart touching. The kind of book you don’t wanna put down.

I picked up this book for the modern day royals and kept reading it even once I realized the second chance storyline. I thought that this was a really fun book, but there was also a lot going on in not that many pages. I did enjoy the sibling relationship and what Oliver was willing to take on to protect his sister. I did enjoy that the miscommunication was minor, but I don't really enjoy that trope and we didn't really get much resolution. The jealous roommate didn't share a note, but why? It just felt like it was more there to create the second chance trope.

Thanks to Luna Literary Management for the advanced reader copy. I loved this second chance romance from the start. The flash backs to their initial relationship really added to the story and showed the chemistry and love they had for each and how they were able to forgive and find their love again. Oliver being a prince made this royal romance a complete delight, and she was his perfect princess.

Fake dating/engagement is my favourite trope so I was so excited to read Oliver & Adelaide’s story. This book did not disappoint! It was so fun to go back to Wexstone and see it from different points of view. I loved their love story and having the infertility piece woven in was so well done. As someone who has experienced infertility and loss, it was special to see it talked about and normalized in a book. Definitely loved this one!

Another fantastic book in the Wextone Royals series. The way that Adelaide is able to advocate for others (and eventually herself) is so touching. I loved how Oliver continued to fight for her and their love. The author is able to write about some very tough topics in a touchingly beautiful way (Chapter 28 cue the tears from me). Will be rereading again soon.

I was so excited to know we were getting Oliver’s book. I loved him in the first book. His character had growth from beginning to end. There were layers to him I was not expecting. He turned out to be thoughtful and caring beyond his image. Adelaide’s story was emotional. She remain true to who she was. Together they had sparks. Could they keep the spark alive after the fireworks?

Even better than the first

I really enjoyed Knox and Birdie's story, but I think I liked this one better. Adelaide and Oliver were just so good together. It was easy to see that the "fake" engagement was going to be real quickly. I can't wait to see what happens in the future books and continue to get these fun updates.

This book had a confusing start with the various timelines. And even though I’d only waited a few weeks, I had trouble recalling some character details from the first book. Fake engagement. Second chance romance. Infertility. Spicier than book one. I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first one.
