Evelyn Reed wakes to a nightmare—her memory gone, her body carrying twins she doesn’t remember conceiving, and Julian Thorne—the ruthless billionaire once branded her fiercest rival—claiming to be their father.
Confined to Julian’s gleaming penthouse, she feels trapped in a gilded cage, her instincts warning that he’s every bit the cold corporate shark her best friend despised. Yet Julian’s quiet acts of tenderness, especially with his withdrawn young son, Leo, begin to crack her defenses. The enemy she swore to distrust suddenly feels like something a protector, a contradiction she can’t ignore.
Determined to reclaim her past, Evelyn launches a secret investigation, only to uncover a conspiracy, a dangerous legal war, and proof her “accident” was no accident at all. The closer she gets to the truth, the more she realizes Julian’s empire—and her heart—are both at risk.
Can she trust the grumpy billionaire who may hold the key to her past, her babies’ future, and the love she never saw coming?
Needs heavy editingJenna and Grayson… it sounded like an interesting premise, but editing and formatting let it down from the start. There were full chunks of text repeated. Inner thoughts/questions were in text boxes like text messages which was just weird. The escalation of events was crazy fast, and it got convoluted super fast. I had no idea what was going on, between an ‘accident’, amnesia, police involvement, random psycho chicks appearing, psycho ex-wife, blackmail for custody, corporate contracts and what appears to be corporate espionage. It feels like, a whole bunch of tropes were thrown into a hat, and just randomly selected!
But… I really struggled with their characters. For two adult professionals, they are etremely immature, and well…. unprofessional.
Soooo many inconsistencies…. He finds out she’s pregnant from his ex, then gives her alcohol! Later, he’s surprised at a hospital visit when he’s told she’s pregnant? She leaves, ends up as a prisoner. He ‘rescues’ her… there’s blood, she falls unconscious. Then next chapter, she saves herself with a letter opener, police arrive and she’s fine?
This had potential, but it needs a solid read through and edit to make it a good story. I’ve read some great stories from this author, and now I’ve read some shockers…. This was definitely not the best.

Hang on get your favorite wine, snacks you won’t be putting this down until the last page has been turned. Evelyn was in a terrible car accident that left her with amnesia, she doesn’t remember discovering she was pregnant, but she is pregnant with a healthy baby, and her baby’s father is right there with her or a man claiming they are together she isn’t sure what to believe. Julian sexy as all get out attorney with a reputation for being cold, isn’t one you want to come up against in a court room but now he is claiming to be the father of his rival’s child, and something is off to everyone around them. Evelyn and Julian were bitter rivals both didn’t get along with one another and yet after she was in accident is claiming he is the father there are gaps but the storyline is promising where are they headed, will she memory back, when she does is everything the way he says it is or is there something more to his reasoning, and will it lead to happiness or heartache?
Grumpy Billionaire Secret Baby by Elaine Fran What I loved about Jenna and Grayson's story was the storyline, but I had the worst time trying to follow the book. The book needs a lot of editing to get it to be great. Things that bothered me were that it jumped all over the place. Aiden was said to be non-verbal but suddenly can speak. Jenna being pregnant but is drinking alcohol. I felt the need to reread things because they didn't make sense. I do believe that once some major editing is done this will be a five star book.

This book was such a great find as I haven’t read this writer before. It was an unusual plot as it started with Evelyn not knowing who she was or anything about herself after a traumatic car accident left her with amnesia. If that wasn’t shocking enough she then was told she is pregnant and that the baby’s father is there too. She has no memory of Julian or her life prior to waking in the hospital but she does find out that Julian is a cold hard lawyer & that prior to her accident they were bitter rivals. Evelyn has to be smart in order to work out who her friends were and who she can trust in this tangled web which she has no memory of.
Fabulous story with a great romance that is so well written that you fall head over heels in love reading this book instantly. If you haven’t read any books by Elaine, you should start now, you won’t be disappointed. I loved the way the cover has you curious on the storyline. This is a 5/5-star romance read.
I found this book to be intriguing, but it leaves a lot of open gaps that need to be filled in. There are things that are happening that don't make sense that leads to authenticity of the book. Overall, it has promise and I will wait to see how Ms. Fran changes out plots and storylines.

An accident victum reclaiming her memory of self and relationship. (interesting device-- reader learns as character does) who to trust? Her decision flip/flops. Can she trust her judgement? Should she?
