A week ago, searchers found the wreckage of a small airplane that crashed against the mountain nearly a month ago.
Recovery crews declared there were no survivors.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "PROTECTED BY THE LUMBERJACK" I was completely drawn into this intriguing story right away.
Carver Murdock found the plane that crashed a month ago recovery crews said no survivors but then Carver saw the most beautiful woman staggers into his logging camp, rembers the crash but not much else.
Carver & recovery crew are trying to find out her identity & if anyone might be looking for her, she likes he calls her Honey.
Carver shared his stories of being in the military joining the Marine Corps out of highschool, like his older brother who served in Persian Gulf, Carver now runs the Murdock Timber business since coming back home with his brothers he calls grumpy bastards that makes her smile.
Living together with Carver they make passionate love he tells her he wants to keep her & she likes it, he's 53 & is thinking of family with Honey.
Sherrif Hawke shows up at Carvers with info someone showed up saying they had info about Honey that they know her & her real name is Evie & he's got his lawyer with him, their coming here.
Honey, Evie a stranger bursts into the museum visitor center its just her & Mable Hart who's about 90yrs old she greets the two men, Evie its me Todd, Mable keeps Honey behind her, Carver appears with Deputy Hawkins. Honeys real name is Evelyn Ortega & Carvers is ticked Todd Olsen & his lawyer want take Honey/Evie back to a life she doesn't remember & doesn't want to go.
What will happen to Evie/Honey & Carver, will Todd & his lawyer take her back, Hawkins is on their side she should be able to decide.
Todd speaks out saying he & Evie are engaged, a court gave Todd custody of Evie because of her amnesia & she doesn't get a say. The lawyer tells Murdock he's been served & can't contact Evie & Todd smirks.
Will Evie & Carver figure out to save her & get their HEA a page turner to the end to see what happens a must read for sure.

Fans of author Rocklyn Ryder's short stories will finally get to read about the first of the Murdock Brothers to fall in love. "Protected by the Lumberjack" is Carver and "Honey's" story.
Carver is an ex-Marine who runs Murdock Timber alongside his brothers. In his early 50's, Carver feels as if his time to find a wife and have children has long since passed. Spending his days (and nights) with his crew deep in the forest clearing trees, he has little opportunity to meet women. That is until a beautiful woman staggers into his campground one night and collapses.
As the sole survivor of a plane crashing into a mountainside, "Honey" not only has to survive amongst thick forest until she's rescued, she has no recollection of who she is. After a month of wandering, when she finally stumbles upon Carver's camp, her body immediately recognizes she's safe with Carver and gives out.
After waking up from collapsing, will "Honey" recognize that the man in front of her would not only protect her from danger, but also wants to keep her for himself for the rest of his days? Will she ever be able to learn her true identity? When her past does come forth to reclaim her, will her mind and body subconsciously recognize those individuals, and what will their presence mean to her budding relationship with Carver?
This story is a sweet read with a underlying tone of mystery. It's a short story with so much plot development that it feels like a much longer story, and I enjoyed reading every single page. A definite must read.

This is book four of the Moonshine Ridge Lumberjacks series and features Carver, one of the Murdock brothers who own the timber rights to a lot of the land on Moonshine Ridge. At over 50 he expects to live out his days alone… but that was before the young beauty stumbled into his camp from the forest and collapsed with no idea of who or where she was.
After waking up in a downed plane with the body of the pilot and no idea who she was, Honey waited for days to be rescued before finally leaving to wander the mountain searching for help and finding a sexy silver fox.
This was a super short, steamy read with a sweet, hot, PROTECTIVE, cinnamon roll, mountain man hero who was willing to burn down the world for the woman he claimed as his and I absolutely LOVED it!!! If instalove melts your heart, this book is one you’re gonna want to read sooner rather than later… it’s AMAZING!! 5 stars!

The Lumberjack series is like an old time serial, one short story flowing into the next. While previously we have gotten short glimpses of the Murdock brothers, this story introduce Carver the middle brother. While working in the Weeping Wilderness, thinning out the brush to prevent another forrest fire, a woman staggers out of the woods. She had survived the mysterious plane crash reported in the previous book. Turns out she has amnesia, but she latches on to Carver and he is smitten at first sight. Personally I find age gap romances kind of icky, yet I still keep reading the author's books.
There is a mystery of who "Honey" really is, and why she was on the plane, when she wasn't listed as being on it. And as the Sheriff and the Deputy try to learn who she is, Carver is going to protect "his" woman no matter what. Good character development and engaging story.
I read an advanced reader's copy as part of the author's review team. This I say honest, unbiased and voluntary review.

Carver is deep in the Weeping Wilderness scouting out where to continue thinning out old dense growth when he hears sounds of someone or thing coming towards his camp. To his surprise, a beautiful woman appears and faints in front of him.
A true mystery as to this woman's identity becomes even stranger when men arrive with their own accounts of what has happened and who she is.
All Carver knows is she belongs with him. Will she get to stay?

Moonshine Ridge Lumberjacks book 4
She woke up the only survivor in a plane that has crashed, she survived 10 days eating snacks and drinking bottled water she found on the plane. When she realizes no one is coming, she starts walking, she doesn't know where she is, or where she is going, she cant remember anything, not even her name. Then she finally hears something and heads toward the noise and see's a man pointing a rifle at her and she passes out. She just met Carver and he is taking care of her now and calls her Honey. This is my favorite book so far in the Moonshine Ridge Lumberjacks and that isnt easy to say because i have Loved them all, but i am kind of attracted to Carver myself. Dang, Rocklyn Ryder has such Great writing skills.

When a woman stumbles into his campsite, Carver has no idea who she is and apparently she doesn’t either. Finding out she survived a plane crash and weeks in the wilderness, has Carver’s protective instincts kicking in and he takes her in and calls her Honey. Honey has no idea who she is but feels safe and protected by Carter, he takes her in, gets her checked out and moves in with him. When people arrive wanting to take her back, Carter lets her go but all is not right and he will do whatever it takes to get her back.
Another short steamy read, with a bit of suspense, that will leave you smiling from ear to ear by the end. A perfect escape from the real world when you need a break and a happy story.

Protected by the Lumberjack is a fast read, but contains several elements to keep it interesting. As the sole survivor of a plane crash, Honey is resilient in surviving and finding help. Carver is instantly attracted to her, but they both acknowledge she has an unknown past. The author did a great job in combining all the necessary details for an age gap romance with a little suspense into a short story.

Exciting, quick paced lumberjacks contemporary romance with mystery and suspense. Honey was in a plane accident and wasn’t found so started walking in the mountains. She stumbles upon Carter who immediately is drawn to her. Enjoyable story and I look forward to reading more books by Ms Ryder.

Absolutely loved Honey and Carver. These two had that spark from the moment he rescued her. Loved the way she always grabbed his hand and even though she didn't who who she was, she trusted him the entire time. I'm loving this series and the intro to so many new characters

I enjoyed this story. It was entertaining and easy to read. It is a short, instalove, fairly lighthearted read with some suspense and amnesia thrown in. Honey has been in an airplane crash and survived weeks in the wilderness with no memories prior to that crash and stumbles into the lumberyard and Carver. They have an instant connection and he steps up to protect her. He makes her feel safe and protected but all is not as it seems when people come looking and the story they have to tell. I enjoyed seeing Carver and Honey get to know each other and finding their happy ending. This story was entertaining and easy to read. It does have some suspense elements to it with the amnesia and bad guys but still stays on the lighthearted side of things. Things move quickly as it is a quick read. I enjoyed it.
