Years ago, I was required to take a course on the book of Hebrews for my Masters degree in Biblical studies. I mentioned this to a pastor friend, and he gave me a list of books he recommended on Hebrews. This book by DeHaan was one of them, but I never got the chance to read it until now.
For years, Hebrews was an enigma for me. I knew it was for believers in Christ, but I never knew what was it’s message to them.
Now I know- it is a book urging Christians to move onto maturity in their walk with Jesus, to continue on the path of discipleship. Otherwise, they will not lose their salvation, but their rewards for faithfulness at the judgment seat of Christ. It is a warning to those who are remaining in immaturity or walking in unrepentant sin.
I love how DeHaan explained the very controversial passages in Hebrews 6 and 10. Neither the Calvinist nor Arminian paradigms explain these passages correctly.
If you want to study the book of Hebrews for yourself, this book is a great place to help you get started.

This is an older book that I had in my collection. I had not picked it up for many years. It was good to reread it and refresh my memory as to its content. Although it is not a favorite of mine, I definitely enjoyed reading it.
