Never Just Enough

Rate this book
She’s left everything behind. He stopped needing anything at all—until her.

Annabelle Greenwick has walked away from two lives. She isn’t looking for a third. But when she finds shelter in a quiet Victorian-inspired estate tucked away from the world, she doesn’t expect it to feel like home—or to meet a man who’s spent years teaching himself how not to need anything at all.

Valen Eldcroft doesn’t eat. Doesn’t sleep. Doesn’t ask for more. That’s just how life works when you’ve hollowed yourself out enough that the world stops asking back. But Annabelle is different. Soft where he’s silent. Brave in ways he’s never dared. And somehow, she sees him—clearly.

What begins as quiet companionship becomes something more—something neither of them knows how to hold. As intimacy deepens and the past resurfaces, they’ll have to decide if love is worth the fear it wakes. And whether healing means letting go of the past—or finally reaching for the life they stopped believing they could have.

A tender, character-driven romance about longing, safety, and learning to want again—even when it terrifies you.

For readers who love character-driven romance, slow-burn longing, and open-door intimacy that earns its place—where every touch matters and the love scenes move the story forward.

Please note: I received a copy of this book as an ARC reader. My initial rating is 4.5, but rounded up here.

This is a very sweet romance, with a heavy focus on building relationships, both romantic and familial. It’s heartwarming to see that while there is an initial attraction, the relationship evolves naturally between Annabelle and Valen. Without spoiling too much, it’s nice to see how natural they help each other grow as individuals while also strengthening their relationships. My favorite part of the story is how they helped each other come out of their shells, overcome their own personal issues without crossing any boundaries. Annabelle and Valen are the epitome of the ideal relationship with open communication and honesty!

I’ve knocked the rating half a star for two main reasons. There were a few characters that were introduced, but we never heard from again. While there was a bit of a conclusion to Seraphine, I feel like she left many questions unanswered. The second reason isn’t that big of a dealbreaker, but it did leave an itch in my brain. I couldn’t tell what time period or location this is set in. This doesn’t affect the story much - it just turned into a personal brain worm.

Never Just Enough is a tender reminder that love is not about fixing or forcing, but about holding space. This story explores what it means to be truly seen by another person, when love is patient enough to wait, kind enough to nurture, and generous enough to let you simply be. It’s about healing in the presence of someone who chooses you not for who you might become, but for who you already are. Gentle, heartfelt, and deeply resonant. I absolutely loved it ❤️

Thank you E.V. Thorne for providing this ARC of Never Just Enough in exchange for an honest review.

Summary:
Annabelle flees danger and ends up in a mysterious castle with Valen, a man who brings light and colour to her otherwise grey life. Between manipulative figures from her past, a bizarre 'magical' house, and unresolved tensions, she has to confront who she is and what she really wants.

Review:
This book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. The beginning felt rushed and confusing... Annabelle runs for her life, stumbles into a castle, and almost instantly starts falling for Valen. It gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes, except Valen is handsome from the start, which left the dynamic feeling a little flat. Within days, she’s living with him, and while I’d be tempted by the castle library too, it all felt a bit bizarre.

As the story went on, I struggled with the lack of a clear plot. It often felt like a series of dramatic moments rather than a cohesive narrative, with Seraphine’s manipulations and the mysterious “room with the counter of men” leaving me more puzzled than intrigued. Still, there were bright spots. Annabelle’s character made far more sense once her past with Dominic was revealed, and it was sad but satisfying to understand how coercion had dulled her sparkle. Valen, too, grew on me, especially when shown in a softer, more genuine light with Annabelle’s family.

By the end, the romance found its stride. Annabelle and Valen are supportive, settled, and their bond feels much stronger. I especially liked the art gallery touch, which showed them encouraging each other’s passions. But the story dropped some of its biggest threads... the house magic and Seraphine were built up as important, only to be quietly abandoned in the finale. That left me frustrated, like the book had promised more than it delivered.

In the end, Never Just Enough has charm and heart, especially in its later chapters, but it’s unevenly paced and leaves too many questions unanswered. A mixed but ultimately enjoyable read if you’re willing to be patient.

Never Just Enough begins with a truly intriguing premise, and E.V. Thorne draws you in with a sense of emotional depth and mystery that had me curious to see where the story would go. There’s a lot of heart in these pages, and it’s clear the author put thought into the characters and their journey.

While the beginning held promise, I found that the story lost a bit of momentum for me as it went on. The pacing felt uneven at times, and some elements became a little repetitive. The writing has a solid foundation, but there were moments where I wished for a bit more variation and clarity to really bring the narrative to life.

That said, there’s something very sincere and reflective about Thorne’s style. Even when the plot didn’t fully capture me, I appreciated the emotional undertones and the intent behind the story. With a bit more refinement, I think the author’s future work could be even more compelling.

This wasn’t quite the right fit for me, but I can see others connecting with its quieter, more introspective tone.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this story from the author.

This is a beautifully written story about fighting for love. It shows us that love looks and feels different for every couple and no matter the trauma you've experience the right person can with time show how to love again.
The story reads like poetry, beautiful descriptive words allow you to be immersed into the world.

I struggled with the flow of the plot line. I found myself asking too many questions about the origins of characters, of world itself and the magic within.
A very sweet story and I will gladly read more works from the author.

This book was such a refreshing change of pace for me. It’s an easy read, no complex world building, no heavy details to keep track of, just a story you can sink into and enjoy. But at the same time, the emotional journey of the characters really stood out.

At its heart, this is a story about being seen. Annabelle, who has spent her life believing she’s “too much,” and Valen, who’s convinced himself he’ll never be “enough.” Watching the way their connection grows; quiet companionship turning into trust, banter, laughter, and eventually love, was tender, relatable, and deeply satisfying. The banter in particular was a highlight for me; witty, funny, and carrying that comfortable spark that reminded me of a long-married couple who know each other inside out.

Thematically, I loved how the story explored love as something patient, something willing to wait, to hold space, and to make someone feel truly seen. It’s a romance that’s as much about healing as it is about intimacy, and the balance of those two made the emotional beats land beautifully.

I will say, the one part that threw me was the almost magical element introduced with Seraphine. At times, it gave the story a slightly supernatural tone, with hints that leaned toward vampire/magic vibes and an undercurrent of unsafety in Valen’s motivations. It didn’t completely fit for me with the otherwise grounded and character-driven romance.

Still, overall this was a tender, witty, and heartfelt read. Perfect if you’re in the mood for a slow-burn romance that feels easy to read but still leaves you reflecting on love, patience, and what it means to be truly seen.

Thank you to the author E.V Thorne for the opportunity to read an ARC.

I rated this book 3.75 stars. I was sent an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. At first I had a hard time getting into this book (no fault at the author) I’m used to reading fast pace psychological thrillers and dark romance so I found this slow compared to what I am used to. About half way through the book this lovely story started to unfold and I kept wanting to know where this story would lead. I fell in love with the characters and still think of them even now. This is not fast paced but if you continue to read you will find a beautiful story of hope, love, families and being enough. And to never give up on your dreams and never change for someone to love you as they are not your people if that is the case. I would like to thank the author for letting me read her book. As with any book please check the trigger warning. If you’re in a mood for a simple but beautiful story, I would encourage you to give this book a try.

I was a blushing mess through this whole book.
The story follows Annabelle, a girl who was made to believe she was too much, and Valen, who grew up believing he was never enough.
There was not much of a plot to follow in this book. The story was highly character driven, but it was….comforting. Just watching Annabelle and Valen learn to open up to each other. Lean on each other. Communicate.
Valen Eldcroft. That man is a sweet-talking poet! The things he says. The things he does. The lengths he goes to for Annabelle.
This book is a very comfort based novel. I wish there was a bit more plotwise, but overall I really enjoyed it.

ARC REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the pleasure of recieving this book as an arc and am leaving this review voluntarily!

Never just enough was a tender love story, showing the readers how love can grow, and how love can be so simple, and elegant. I personally enjoyed the play-like scripture of writing style. It reminded me of a poem - but in novel format.

I loved the small amounts of spice, and the playful banter of the two main characters, and watching their love develop through the book. It really showed the meaning of love in this book, and how loving yourself is the most important part of finding love.

Beauty and the Beast meets consent and care!

EV Thorne writes a beautifully soft and caring approach to one's grief and navigating the process of healing. How she wrote navigating this (challenging) issue was beautiful. It might be a bit slower for some, but I understood it as an intentional approach to ensure care. You see Annabelle slowly growing and developing as she overcomes her past, and Valen slowly opening up.

I would recommend if you'd like a story of sweet, slow burn with consensual spice :).

⭐️ ARC Review – Voluntary ⭐️

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This story pulls you in right away. At first, it’s a little confusing because of the writing style—it almost reads like a mix between a play and a poem, with a touch of Interview with the Vampire vibes. I think that’s because of the unique point of view, but it’s beautifully done.

Our FMC is slowly broken down—not with physical abuse, but with words that make her feel small and insignificant. The book shows how damaging emotional and mental abuse can be, but also how strong she is to not only survive it, but come back from it on her own.

The MMC gave me strong vampire vibes (I kept waiting for him to reveal it, especially with the way food is written), but instead we see a man cloaked in solitude, carrying the scars of his own emotional abuse. He doesn’t know how to love or how to be loved, which mirrors the FMC’s struggles in a colder, more detached way.

The way they find each other—and then refind each other—is both interesting and moving. The first time, she runs because she feels betrayed and not good enough. The second time, he saves her simply because he loves her and can’t ignore that pull. Their journey together highlights that abuse, no matter the form, is never acceptable. Mason’s actions in particular serve as a reminder that persistence against someone’s “no” is harmful and not okay, regardless of gender.

By the end, both characters blossom. They help each other heal, grow, and learn to love—not only each other, but also themselves. They find strength in standing up for who they are, refusing to let others define their worth or steal their peace

So! I have mixed feelings about this novel, and a lot of them, which makes sense because it wasn’t short (hah!).

This was VERY easy-reading which is something that I can enjoy in a novel. I tore through this entire thing in a little over a day (weekend day but still!) because it flowed very well. The plot was simple, but in a way that lets the characters take the main stage. There were a lot of great moments in their relationship, especially in the later half of the novel. I enjoyed seeing some serious and meaningful communication and relationship development. Though they seemed to rush through things in the first half, the second half demonstrated some very believable and heartwarming dynamics between the characters and their relationship.

This novel hooked my attention immediately and kept me reading because I needed answers to what was going on, and what was going to happen! There was great character development on the side of the FMC. I think the MMC had good character development as well, but I never really connected with his side of the story.

That said, I also had issues. I think this is a definite candidate for “novels that I just didn’t get/connect with” as opposed to a novel that is objectively bad. The writing style for example was very flowery prose that was beautiful, yet I found myself not vibing with it and frequently wasn’t really sure what they were actually trying to say. I am not going to say it was bad, but I will say that it didn’t work for me in particular.

The first section of the novel felt very strange and rushed to me. The protagonists fell into insta-lust/love shockingly quickly and without any apparent motivations that I could really follow. The scenes were written well but I felt that the emotional stakes being presented were not justified. For example, in an early scene it said they were “Full of every word they hadn’t spoken. Every moment they’d kept their distance”, yet all I could think was that they hadn’t known each other for a full day yet so there wasn’t time for a whole lot of yearning to build up. Similarly, when the MMC thought “He’d opened himself up. Really opened. Let her see him. Let her in”, all I could think about was how I (the reader) didn’t know a single thing about this character, hadn’t seen any vulnerability so far, and neither had the FMC. The relationship development eventually caught up to the drama-vibes but until that point I think there were issues.

There were too many things that went without explanation for me. The entire “thing” with his magic, his background, and the home, didn’t make any sense to me. I found myself wondering if this was just a metaphor, until it was confirmed that it wasn’t. These were some major details for me, ones that provided the bulk of my continuing interest in the novel, and there was never any payoff. It might be a “me thing”, but you can’t have a magical element to your novel that comes and goes as it suits the plot without ever being explained or even questioned by the characters in the story. Food appeared from nowhere, the castle was cleaned and the grounds maintained without any staff, baths drawn, clothes cleaned, etc, and yet she never really questioned it (unrealistic!), and it was never explained. This was my biggest issue with this novel by far.

There was also Seraphine. One of the characters with the most on-page time, and I didn’t understand anything about what was going on with her. I understood her motivations regarding the MMC, that was clear, but who/what the heck was she? This was another case of unexplained magic and a character who disappeared from the plot earlier than expected due to unexplained reasons (we saw what happened, but there was no context, and it wasn’t explained). This character had me wondering if this novel was based on a FanFic and the author forgot to explain some backstory that those outside of the fandom wouldn’t know.

Anyways! There were great parts and parts I didn’t get. Overall it was fine, and I will say that if this is a first novel (I think it is) then it is a wonderful start and I hope the author keeps writing!

Thank you E. V. Thorne for this eARC in exchange for a honest review!

The thrill begins right from the start. It was hard to follow at first because of how quick it just goes into it at the beginning without a ton of context, and also Annabelle’s willingness to stay with Valen, who was a complete stranger at the time, seemed unrealistic. The page layout on my kindle had basically every sentence a separate paragraph and I’m not sure if it was supposed to be that way, but it could’ve also been why it was hard to follow at first. Also, with how Seraphine was introduced at the beginning, I was expecting her character to come back at some point or have a better tie into everything. She was mentioned again later on briefly, but it didn’t really add anything to the storyline at that time.

The book is separated into Acts 1-4 and about halfway through was when I was really starting to enjoy it. Act 3 was favorite! Annabelle’s family dynamic was so relatable. The character development of both Annabelle and Valen really blossomed here as they started to open up more. With Valen feeling welcomed by her family and him realizing maybe he could have something more in life. And then Annabelle realizing she’s in a better place and her family noticing as well. I appreciated that her family acknowledged how bad they realized her past relationship was, now that she had been gone and came back refreshed. It was a great sense of closure and I personally took that to heart. I loved Annabelle and Valen growing together over time, and slowly opening up more of themselves as they get more comfortable. But also growing independently finding joy in their own hobbies, even after all of the things they experienced before their love story began. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your ARC team!

✨️ Book Title: Never Just Enough
✨️ Author: E.V. Thorne
✨️ Genre: Romance
✨️ Tropes: Found family, slow burn romance, insta-love, outsider FMC, recluse MMC

⭐️ Star Rating: 3 / 5 stars

⚠️ Trigger Warnings: Explicit sexual content, emotional neglect, mentions of parental death (past occurrence)

📅 Release Date: October 9, 2025

“You’re the first place I’ve ever felt safe enough to stay. And I don’t want to go anywhere else.”

In a desperate attempt to find safety, Annabelle finds herself seeking refuge in a mysterious castle occupied by a man named Valen. Over time, the two strangers grow closer together, learning to confront their past and determine what they really want in life. Does ultimately confronting their desires lead to a more colourful life together, or will it bring more grey?

To be fully transparent, I was very excited to read Never Just Enough and see the journey of Annabelle and Valen’s romance. However, as I got further into the storyline, I realized that this ultimately wasn’t the book for me. I was left with more questions than answers and struggled to connect with the characters effectively.

In the beginning, the storyline showed immense promise; Annabelle stumbles upon a mysterious castle that invites her in as she is seeking refuge from danger and encounters the castle's reclusive owner, Valen. However, the pace of the storyline from the initial run from danger to a more domesticated lifestyle does not match the rest of the storyline. Instead, I felt as if I was on a bit of a rollercoaster ride with the pace continually switching from fast to slow. This made it a little more difficult for me to stick with the read. Additionally, the transition from solely seeking refuge to living with Valen in the castle, all within a few hours, seemed a bit disconnected.

As the story carries on, I was left with a variety of questions surrounding the magic system that appears sporadically - food that magically appears and a castle that's always clean. Although the magic system is subtly acknowledged, there is no substantial discourse surrounding it, preventing readers from fully understanding its purpose in the novel. Additionally, we have our antagonist, Seraphine, who comes across as a mysterious and manipulative sorceress, but her true role and motivations aren’t entirely clear (aside from attempting to keep Valen miserable). While Valen’s character definitely showed some growth, I wish he were able to open up so much more - I was waiting for more backstory and more personality to complement Annabelle’s bright and bubbly persona. All in all, I was very intrigued by all the events unfolding. I just wish there were more details and backstories to clarify and support the direction of the plot as a whole.

With that being said, Never Just Enough is still a good read, and it is clear that E.V. Thorne wrote her debut novel with immense thought and heart. While it wasn’t the book for me, I believe some readers will connect with and enjoy this sweet and cozy romance.

Arc Review

Never Just Enough by
@evthorne

Thanks you for giving me the opportunity to read this beautiful written story of love, loss, accepting yourself and learning to open your heart even if it's hurts to learn to love freely again for an exchange for a honest review.

We all know that love sometimes isn't enough to keep going but that want to keep growing individually, and together takes works, takes courage to have that leap of faith.

Especially when you lost who you were from a previous relationship. Losing the way you see the world, full of vibrant colour but it slowly turning dull colour. Sometime it may not be the physical trauma that changes us but the abuse with words that knocks you down. Little by little. Losing who you are. Draining that spark that you had.

Until you meet that person who gives you the light back, it's slow as it's hard to trust, it's gradually builds with raw honest talks, the exploration of feeling, the precious feelings that are so frightening but also so much beautiful. You both lossed, grieved , always having obstacles. But you choose yourself and each other.

It's a fragility of learning to love, having the dreams you thought. You lost being possible, having that chance to be mischievous and full of love reconnecting with the past of familial relations and having in the presents.

I loved this book. And when the sparks ignite, it's in flames.

This book was more than enough 💜

I kind of loved this book! It's written in a slower pace, whilst set in a Bridgerton type era, when people are expected to 'court' to marry.

Our FMC Annabelle is a wild spirit on the run, after escaping an abusive suitor. She has spent years trying to fit into the societal 'norm', but has always been made to feel that she is too much. That is until she meets our MMC Valen. Valen is reserved, withdrawn, and hiding himself in his locked estate after having his heart broken and being made to feel like he is never enough. One night he sees Annabelle, and opens the door to provide a safe space for her to stop running. But, letting someone in brings new challenges. Can they find a way to be ENOUGH together?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars as I didn't quite understand the whole Seraphine and her mirrors concept. I thought maybe there would be a magic / fantasy trope thrown in, but, nope... nothing, no explanation.
That being said, I loved how we got to see Valen's character open up, and to see his playful side 💙 The characters bounce off each other, and the banter had me laughing straight from the first chapter.

🌶🌶
Spice is a 2 out of 5, but thats expected as it clearly states, slow burn and open door romantic scenes on the content note. It was still enough for me to be engrossed in this book from beginning to end though!

I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily!

This book was a very good read! The writing style and pace was different and refreshing. It almost came across poetic. I really enjoyed that it was a quick read, but didn’t feel like I was missing much – just enough detail to capture the love story between the main characters to feel like I knew or related to them, but not so much detail that it feels like it’s wasting time reading it. The only aspect that I did not fully understand which kept me from giving it 5 stars was the almost “magical” storyline that was introduced but then never fully explained. The house seemed to have magical power as well as Seraphine but I never felt closure or explanation as to what that was. Maybe this was intentional and left for the reader to interpret, but I feel like there was something missing there.

But overall, the story left a positive feeling of love, hope and new beginnings that the reader gets to experience through both main characters as they learn how to move forward and find what they truly want in their lives, even if it is scary to do so. I enjoyed how the story showed that it is okay to need someone to lean on, and that moving forward does not have to only be a personal journey. And the main characters were routing for each other and found comfort and trust in their relationship.

I’d recommend this book if anyone is looking for a heartwarming quick read to make you feel better about starting something new that may be outside your comfort zone!

Both main characters are thoughtfully written, and I loved their connection.
I was confused by the term "slow burn" in the marketing of this book, as the characters seem to connect rather quickly, but they do take a while to get to know each other and form a trust and a bond.
To write this review, I went on a deep dive into the definition of slow burn. There are various opinions, but to summarise:
"Slow burn: Focuses on a steady, deep connection that grows over time, valuing patience and understanding."

Broadly speaking, it does fit this definition. I guess I assumed they wouldn't be sleeping together as soon as they did.
The reasons for both characters' cautiousness in learning to trust one another were not clearly laid out and remained a mystery for a good chunk of the book.

It was a slow read for me. I needed to put it down and come back later several times, but overall, I enjoyed it. The writing could be called flowery, but I loved the way it flowed.
I especially loved the part where Valen played with Annabelle's nieces and nephews.

Thank you for the ARC of this book.

4.5/5 I actually loved this book, it was a little different of what I expected. This story touches a bit on paranormal/fantasy but it helps to shelter Valen and Annabelle's story. The book starts as Annabelle is running away from all the noise that make her feel like she is too much, and finds a place in a castle where he meets Valen who hides there away from all the ones who made him not enough. The book then takes on this beautiful rythm as they start to spend time together. THey have both been burned, so they are careful, so you will find their silences charged, their conversations slow and tender, but as they get more comfortable they start to see each other, not fix each other, but accept and the tempo of the conversation starts to change, there is banter and the chemistry. But as always with growth comes issues, and you will want to know if they work through them? A sweet book that will capture your attention.

The writing for this book is unlike anything I have recently experienced--a nod to older gothic prose, both poetic and almost written like a play. It is even organized into Acts. The vibes were dreamlike and the words almost had rhythm to them. For example:

"She folded her arms. 'You kissed me, Valen.'
He nodded once. 'I did.'
'You say that likes it's nothing.'
'It was a kiss.'"

There is a beauty to Thorne's words that I didn't expect. Even the spicy scenes seemed melodic, both emotional but not bogged down by intricate details.

The plot itself was a little confusing. I think I became distracted by the prose sometimes that what was actually going on got lost on me at several points. There is a HEA and a lovely epilogue that had me smiling.

If you're looking for something refreshing that deviates from mainstream writing, I recommend that you give "Never Just Enough" a try.

From the very beginning, the chemistry between Annabelle and Valen is undeniable. I love how he takes her in, and looks after her. He doesn't want her to leave, yet respects her right to her own free will and gives her her freedom. Their banter, the back and forth, the way they tease and riff off of one another is everything! They have definitely become a fast favourite.

My favourite chapter is by far, chapter 18. It was an adorable moment. I loved seeing Valen in a different light. A side to him that was playful and relaxed, less intense. In that moment, I could feel his happiness radiating off the page!

This is a story that shows there is light at the end of the tunnel. That there is someone out there who will love you for you. Never Just Enough was such a sweet read, filled with a lot of love and cute moments.

I would highly recommend!

Many thanks to E. V. Thorne for advanced reader copy!

I enjoyed the writing. The characters are engaging but this needed more scene setting for me. When is the story set? It's not contemporary but, for me, not enough was done to build whatever world the characters live in.

There was a hint of the supernatural about the other woman, but that didn't go anywhere and, in my opinion, her presence added no value.

It was an enjoyable read but I kept getting distracted by too much missing context. I had an ARC copy so maybe some of this was resolved in a later version so, do read this feedback with that in mind.

This book had a unique writing style, which made it a bit more simplistic and easier to read. It was interesting to see the characters interact and seeing their differences. They both had struggles in their lives, which we can see very clearly at times and at others it’s a bit more subtle. With this there are times where the book seems to move at a quick pace, however it is somehow also moving at a slow pace. I enjoyed the characters working through things together and bonding.

I appreciate having received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a beautifully written emotional romance novel following the story of Annabelle & Valen. This slow burn romance was honest in it's depictions of life after childhood trauma, toxic relationships and the path it takes them both to heal and love. With it's open door spice and emotionally evocative moments, found family and honest human experience that I enjoyed. It had a couple of moments along the plot that I'm not sure if they were part of a different path in the story line but overall not my normal style of novel, but definitely enjoyed it.

Never Just Enough is a beautifully tender story that lingers long after you finish reading. It captures the quiet strength of love that doesn’t demand change but instead offers space to grow. This book reminded me that being seen and accepted as you are is one of the rarest forms of love. Every page feels patient, warm, and deeply human. A gentle, healing read that wraps around you like comfort itself — I loved every bit of it ❤️

This book had the character development And growth that I have been craving in my reads recently. There was so much that I related to regarding the FMC feelings and how she was navigating the world. I LOVED the portrayal and role of Love in this book. It left me feeling seen, giddy, emotional, invested, ALL the things. I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did but it left an impression and I loved getting to ARC read this. I’d definitely read again for the emotional impact.

This does a great job in creating that regency romance and was hooked from the first page. The characters worked well in this setting and thoroughly enjoyed the concept and how they were used. It uses the slow-burn element perfectly and that the characters were so well. E. V. Thorne has a strong writing style and am excited for more, as this was so well written.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Greetings !! I received an advance copy for free, and I just had to review to say it’s a MUST READ. Think of a slow-burn romance that digs deep into healing and trust, with two complex characters who grow through their struggles. It’s an emotional story where love is earned. Highly recommend!!
