Written by a world-famous chess teacher, this excellent introduction to the principles of chess endings clearly explains the importance of tempo, the rule of the triangle, and the idea of related squares. Special attention is given to positional play, the conception and execution of a plan, and the recognition of tactical opportunities.
Amazing! "Chess is understanding not memorization." As this book is almost one-hundred years old you may want to check a couple of positions with a computer or when the author gets a bit flippant look a bit deeper. But it is very high quality with knowledge, depth and commentary deserving of the topic. Unless you are an absolute master at the endgame this book should provide something of interest.
