Howling Desire is book two in the Hunter's Moon Ritual Trilogy. It is a dark, why choose, slow-burn, wolf-shifter romance with fated mates and found family. The story is told in first person with multiple POV.

A war is coming and Gracie and her mates need allies. They need to stop the enemy before time runs out. But, do they know who the true enemy is and have they any hope of actually defeating him?

This was an amazing continuation of Gracie and her mate's story. I adored Gracie's strength and the guy's protective and possessive natures. The adventure, danger, action, mystery, and relationship developments were all amazing and made for a great read that I could not get enough of.

The writing, pace, flow, plot, characters, and storytelling were incredible, as were the character development, relationship development, storyline, and world building. I truly enjoyed these wonderful characters and their story, and will be excitedly awaiting the final book in this trilogy.

It's been a minute since the first book was released, but the story never left me. I was so excited to jump back into Gracie's story.


Gracie is still one of the sweetest MFCs I've ever read. She's embracing her role as the chosen one. I like that she's more involved with the decision-making. The romance between her and her mates is slow but sweet. This one does get a little spicy, but Gracie is taking her time, really developing bonds with the guys. The guys are opening up more, especially to Basir. He's the quiet type; I enjoyed learning more about his past.


The world-building was fantastic. We get to see new territories, each different and wondrous, and meet new and interesting characters. There was even talk about what lay outside Thornfell. The dragons were my favorite; their guest room alone had me in awe. I loved everything about this. It took me only a day to finish; I was glued to my seat. There were some unexpected cozy elements, but it didn't lose its dark edge with a few surprises along the way; some good, some not so good. The mythology was the best. There was even more stuff about the gods. We finally get some answers about the unnamed ones, the bonds, and whatever the heck Ivan is up to, and frankly, it's terrifying.


Howling Desire was incredible, but be prepared, M. Sinclair left us with a cliffhanger that left me gasping. I'm still not over it. There's only one more book to go, and I can't wait.

Gods, shifters and mates 😁
There’s really good movement in this second book of the trilogy not only in the plot but with the characters, and their relationships as well 😁 pace is spot on with a good balance between the action, chemistry and emotional depth.
We learn more about what’s happening with Nyxarra and the two unnamed gods who certainly have big plans for Gracie and her mates…Ivan might not be the biggest threat they’ll face 😳 travelling though the different lands they find more foes but also firm friends and family 🥹🥹
It also gives her and her harem chances to connect - we learn more of Basir’s past and why he has the intensity he has but oh boy seeing him melt for our girl when she shows she accepts him 😍 Thornrar is a wildcard and will do what it takes to protect Gracie - even if she doesn’t like it 😚 Ravik is a force of nature determined to look after his family and get Gracie the life she deserves 🥰 their relationships progress at different rates but it’s natural development with some slow burn but strong spice 🌶️
There’s still a lot to be addressed in the last book especially after that cliffhanger ending so have a feel it’ll be a punchy end I’m looking forward to 😃

A bit more going on than in the first book.

Gracie and her mates learned that Ivan Rivers, alpha of the Cold Moon Pack, was up to something huge and nefarious, and he had to be stopped before his plan took place. They just needed help.

In this book, they travel around to the different territories to try and gather help to help them fight in the upcoming war. Thankfully, Gracie is able to get some guidance from some of the gods.

The story still revolves a lot around Gracie, but I feel we get more of her mates in this book. They are constantly around her and supporting her, even letting her take the reins in some situations, like some of the meetings with the other alphas. She's coming into her own more, and while she still has things to work on, she's opened up much more than how she was suppressed to be at Cold Moon Pack.

Book two ended in a pretty good cliffhanger, so I'm off to start book three!

This is book two of the story for Gracie and her mates. I absolutely loved this book though the end left me reeling with that cliff hanger. Gracie is so sweet and caring and it shows how far she has come from the nonesense Ivan has put her through.

The world building and character development has been awe inspiring. I love meeting all the new characters. This is one whirl wind of a story and you will be left begging for the next part!

What the hell? Ending it right there? Just like that?

I want it stated, for the official record, that M. is a giant bully for just shoving me to a cliff and leaving me dangling.

This book has Gracie (still one of my favorite Sinclair FMCs to date) and her guys (super freaking yummy) attempting to find allies. We get to see the ruthlessness and the softness that follows. The other alphas all had very distinct personalities and back stories.

I also very much love how Gracie is spending time with each of her mates and actually getting to know them. So often in fated mate tropes, they realize they belong together, but don't get to know each other.

All in all, I need book 3 yesterday. I need to know what happens. I need to get back to Ironsun. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!

I went into Howling Desire expecting the story to just pick up where book one left off, but it honestly pulled me in even deeper than I expected. This one feels heavier in the best way—emotionally, romantically, and with everything building in the background.
Gracie’s growth really stood out to me. She’s still carrying everything she went through with the Cold Moon Pack, and you can feel that trauma in how she reacts and trusts, but she’s also getting stronger in a way that feels real, not rushed. Watching her slowly accept the bond with her mates and what they mean to her was one of my favorite parts. It’s messy and intense, but it makes the connection feel earned.
And her men? They’re just as addictive as in the first book, if not more. Each of them brings something different to the relationship, and I love that it’s not just about steam (though there’s definitely plenty of that). There’s protectiveness, tension, and actual emotional depth behind it, which made me way more invested.
The plot really ramps up too. There’s this constant sense that something big is coming, especially with the Hunter’s Moon and the looming ritual, and it keeps the pacing tight. The travel, alliances, and hints at a bigger war made the world feel larger without losing focus on the characters.
If I had one complaint, it’s that it ends leaving me desperate for the next book—but honestly, that just proves how hooked I am.
Overall, this was darker, more emotional, and way more intense than I expected—in the best way. If you liked book one, this one absolutely delivers and then some.

A LOT happened in this book.

It picks up right where book one ended with them discussing the threat of Ivan and exactly what he is planing and how they’re gonna take him on.


I honestly do not want to spoil anything in this book so my review will be brief. Gracie and her men go through it in this one. She’s getting closer to the three of them while also trying to discover who she is outside of who she’s been for a decade.

Of course being that her body has been in constant survival mode for said decade her health does take a turn at some point.

We finally figure out the last of The Eight’s names and who exactly is strong enough to imprison a God. Oh well, this is happening we travel through each of the territories that are obviously not aligned with Ivan. Although we do find out one of them actually is on his side. Each territory is distinctly different. To me it’s what I imagine traveling to different countries would be. Because everybody’s way of living is absolutely different from the one before.

Gracie also gets some answers to questions she had been asking in regards to her past if that makes sense. So I don’t blame her for holding just a little bit of resentment for that as well.

We meet some interesting characters in this one as well. Oh and if you haven’t seen she’s posted the next series in this world (book 1) for preorder and I’m positive we met our next FMC and two of her men in this book so look out for that.


I’m glad I’m reading this now because if I had to wait months for that cliffhanger it would’ve been brutal lol.


Absolutely love everything this author writes and can’t wait to see how this all ends.

Gracie’s journey just keeps unfolding in ways that pull you deeper with every chapter. In *Howling Desire*, she has finally escaped the Cold Moon Pack and found her three mates, but safety is not something that comes easily after everything she has endured. Watching her relearn trust and begin to feel secure again adds a powerful emotional layer to the story.

At the same time, the looming threat of Ivan keeps the tension high. Gracie and her mates are forced to travel across different territories, seeking out Alphas willing to stand with them. Not every stop is welcoming, and those hostile encounters add just the right amount of friction to make their mission feel real and risky. Still, there is a sense that they are moving in the right direction, piece by piece building the alliance they need.

One of the highlights for me was the relationship development. The progression between Gracie and each of her mates feels natural and meaningful, with every bond bringing something different to the table. There is a slow burn with the last mate that has me especially invested. Watching those walls stay up, knowing they will eventually come down, makes the anticipation even stronger.

And then there is that ending. That cliffhanger felt like the book slammed shut mid heartbeat. It was bold, a little cruel, and completely effective. I am already impatient to see what happens next because there is no way anyone can just walk away from that moment.

If you enjoy emotional growth, evolving relationships, and a plot that keeps tightening its grip, this installment absolutely delivers.

This second installment leans harder into the emotional bonds and power dynamics, and I loved seeing the relationships evolve. The FMC really starts stepping into her strength here—she’s not just reacting anymore, she’s claiming space, and that shift is so satisfying to watch. There’s still vulnerability, but it’s layered with growing confidence that makes her feel more real and grounded.

The MMCs? Intense, protective, and just unhinged enough to keep things interesting. The chemistry across the board is wild—it’s not just physical, it’s emotional and primal, and it keeps you hooked the entire time. The tension doesn’t let up, and neither does the pull between all the characters.

Plot-wise, this book expands the world in a way that raises questions while giving just enough answers to keep you invested. There’s danger, secrets, and that constant underlying sense that something bigger is coming—and I’m already bracing myself for what’s next.

Howling Desire: The World Intrigues, the Characters Don’t

We follow Gracie and her men, Ravik, Thornar, and Basir, as they embark on their Thornfell political recruitment tour, securing their relationships and bonds as they discover new places and allies, although we’ll have to wait for book three to know if those allies can truly be trusted.

Howling Desire is book 2 in M. Sinclair's latest reverse harem shifter series. It was an easy read with continued fantastic world building. Unfortunately, the growth I was hoping to see in Gracie and the others just isn't there. Gracie, our main female lead, comes across more as a passive survivor than a true protagonist — and after two books, she and the men around her still haven't come alive for me on the page. This is the first M. Sinclair series I've struggled with, but Gracie's story is just missing the mark.

I’m still holding out hope the third book fully redeems this group as I am a big fan of M. Sinclair’s books and want nothing more for them to all be stay-up-all-night-reading worthy.

I really enjoyed this installment! While it had a lighter vibe than the first book (yay) and does the heavy lifting of setting the stage for the grand finale, it was absolutely worth the read.

We got so much quality time with Thornar, Ravik, Basir, and Gracie. I loved how deeply we dove into their relationships and feelings.
Basir, especially, was very open with his past (I am still, and fully in love with Basir *swoon*). Gracie continues to grow, stepping into her own power, trusting her intuition, and learning to stand beside her mates instead of behind them (even if they'd still prefer to shield her from everything). The relationship between them all, I am so glad we saw so much of it in this installment, I love it :)

The world-building in this book was fantastic. We got to see many of the different territories, and they were so diverse and well-detailed that I was fully immersed. I definitely know which one I'd move into if I could! Thankfully, there were no info-dumps, just natural exploration.

That said… that ending was NOT okay! I need the next book immediately. I have a few sneaky suspicions about potential twists in the final book, and I can't wait to see if my theories are right. I'm already looking forward to the conclusion!

Gracie after being rescued from the Cold Moon Pack and with her vision from Goddess Nyxarra telling her that that she had to stop the ritual that Ivan was planning. Gracie and her 3 mates Basir, Ravik, and Thorne were going to the different territories to arrange for allies in the fight against Ivan. They were successful in many of the territories, one of them sent an assassin to kill as their answer. The most important Territory was the Stark Flight the dragons. As they approached the Stark Flight Territory they were set up by Ivans killers and his allies as they tried to kill Gracie and her mates. They were able to fight their way through although Gracie had a traumatic event. When they reached The Stark Flight Territory, Alpha Waylon and his mate requested Gracie to have a reading by their high priestess, during the reading Alpha Waylon and his mate saw the horrible truth what would happen if Ivan succeed in the ritual and agreed to allied with them. Later that evening during dinner Gracie sensed something and with out thinking changes into her wolf and leaps to save her mate Basir and then a shock Gracie took a bullet who and why? Now tapping toes and waiting for the next book to find out what!!

We are back in this amazing world that M. Sinclair has created with Gracie, Ravik, Thornar, and Basir. The story has us journeying alongside of them as they are traveling through the other territories in hope to gain allies in the fight to stop Ivan. We learn so really interesting facts about the situations they have themselves in. We meet a lot of interesting characters along the way as well. One thing that I absolutely love is Gracie. She has this incredibly realistic personality where she has to learn to trust and learn to be loved. Throughout this book we see steady growth from her. She is honest and caring. We see her slowly gaining strength and confidence. We see the relationships growing between her and the guys. There is so much action, drama and suspense. The story had me unable to put it down, glued to the edge of my seat. Then we get to the ending of this book and we have a major cliffhanger that has me absolutely excited to see what is going to happen next. This is absolutely a must read.

This is a solid for me. I enjoyed Howling Love, 1st book in this series, where we got to experience the turmoil and personal growth from Gracie. She transitioned from being a captive to a life free with her mates. This is a wolf shifter, reverse harem, fantasy romance with a steady pace, shorter reads, and a slow burn.

Book 2 starts off with some decision making and visions of what may come. Gracie’s ties to Nyxarra continue to flicker through this book as the reality of Ivan’s (our big bad/puppet?) actions unfold. There’s a lot of movement in the story as they travel for allies on their mission, character growth, and deepening of relationships. I love the MMCs devotion to Gracie. And that potential hope for a reunion with her long lost brother Owen 🥹 gives a different type of yearning amidst all the other challenges ahead. I’m looking forward to the conclusion of their series and of course the HEA after all Gracie’s endured. Thank you so much to M. Sinclair for my advanced reader copy.

Book Two in the Hunter's Moon Ritual series continues with Gracie and her mates - Ravik, Thornar, and Basir, slowly making their way through the territories and gaining allies for their showdown with Ivan and the Cold Moon Pack.

This wasn't a super long book (250-ish pages) so there wasn't a TON of plot movement, but we do see a lot of of character development with Gracie, and especially in her relationships. She's learning how to live outside of Ivan's control and her bonds with the guys are getting stronger, leading to much deeper feelings and that sloooow burn spice is finally starting to pick up. 🔥

That being said, we still have SO FAR to go, and with only one book left - I have a feeling it's going to be a wild ride. 👀

Definitely recommend this one if you're into: why choose (MFMM), fated mates, OTT protective MMCs, found family, world building with gods & magic rituals, FMC healing from traumatic past, & only soft for her. 🖤

I really love that we get to see Gracie grow closer to Ravik, Thornar, and Basir this book. I love the way they care for her, support her without undermining her. I love the natural progression of their relationships, and that delightful little bit of spice. I like that they experience healthy emotions with regard to their bonds building, but that they me are as supportive of one another as they are of Gracie. It’s neat to see so much of their world in this book, as they travel in search of much needed allies! The stakes are getting higher, as they come to realize just what they’re up against. The cliffhanger is just enough to keep you invested for the next book, without making you want to throw the book across the room. If you loved anything M. Sinclair has written, than this is your next fix, 10/10 recommend this series and all her series.

There is a lot of world building - Gracie and her men end up traveling across several territories trying to find Alphas who are willing to stand with them against Ivan. More information comes to light about the gods - the unnamed ones - that are helping, the meaning behind the bond she shares with the MMCs. More on what Gracie and her guys must do in order to beat Ivan before he completes the ritual.

SLOW burn, but it’s so worth it. Gracie is really coming into her own and it’s amazing to see her backbone. The guys are so so supportive and seeing how they are with her is the best. They want to see their girl spread her wings, knowing how caged she has been. I love seeing their relationship grow so naturally.

That ending though! Wheww. Cruel M. Sinclair! lol.

I loved every bit of this book and I’m so excited for the next one!

I LOVED this book! Gracie is the GOAT of FMC’s! Her growth and strength are just outstanding! I adored how the mate bonds are developing! Each one is a perfect balance!

This book drew me so much deeper into the story! I was completely invested in the travels, the world building, the secrets, the tensions and the drama! Basir, Thornac and Ravik exploded in this book for me! I can’t get enough of the emotional bonding each of them were experiencing. They were all so protective and possessive! They were also all a touch deranged (but only in the best way)!!

Ivan’s story progression was terrifying! Literally the fate of the world if the ritual succeeds! The stakes are soooo high! The coalescence with the characters, the storyline, the worlds, the interactions and the dialogue were impeccable! I cannot WAIT for book 3! That cliffy was BRUTAL! I need to see how this story ends!!

This book brings us back to Gracie's story. Along with her mates- Ravik, Thornar, and Basir- she must travel from territory to territory to gain allies for the upcoming war against Ivan and the God that he is working with. I love how dedicated the guys are to Gracie. They truly want what is best for Gracie and want to do everything to keep her safe. Gracie herself is such a strong character. She has survived so much and yet she still is a loving and kind person. Her growth throughout this book is amazing. She slowly starts to learn to trust the guys and herself. The relationships that exist between her and her guys begin to blossom. Even the walls between her and Basir start to lower. I can't wait to see her come into her power and path as well as her completing the bonds with each of the guys. The third book can't come soon enough!

I’ve really enjoyed how this story is progressing and I thought this was a fantastic addition to the series. We see a lot of character development and growth and healing in this book and I loved it all. We really got to know Gracie, Thorn, Ravik and Basir on a deeper level this book and it just added so much more “oomph” to their growing relationship. The world building was also fantastic in this installment, I loved getting to “see” all the other territories. The pace and flow of this book was perfect, comfortable and easy to follow. This plot, this entire storyline has me hooked. I am so invested in Gracie's journey. I am so looking forward to the next book , especially with how this one ended! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and these characters have quickly become some of my favourite that this authour have created.

Interesting world

Once again M Sinclair brings us back into one of her worlds. This book wasn’t as action packed or dark as book 1 but we learned more about the world and its characters.

Gracie is slowly learning more about herself, her mates and how she is going to make a difference. We learn more about her role and she is beginning to accept everything that is happening, which is a lot. I would like to learn a bit more about the MMCs but I’m aware there are some bigger things happening. We’re getting there.

I liked how we visited and spent time with the other packs. If there is a connected series or novella I wouldn’t be mad.

While a lot happened in this book, there is still even more to come. I’m not sure how this is all going to come together in the next and final book but I know it will be good.

I absolutely loved Howling Desire! From beginning to end, I was completely hooked by the story and the emotional development of the characters.

I really enjoyed getting to see other territories and meeting new characters who, in my opinion, are going to become very important later on. It made the world feel even bigger and more immersive.

One of the things I loved the most was the strong focus on found family and family bonds in general. The relationships between the characters evolved so naturally throughout the book, and I adored seeing those connections grow stronger.

The emotional moments hit perfectly, the character dynamics were amazing, and the story kept me invested the entire time.

And that cliffhanger… it completely left me speechless. I need Howling Fate immediately!

Despite the harsh beginnings of Howling Love, I still felt warm and fuzzies from that story, and that nostalgic feeling returned immediately upon starting Howling Desire. As quickly as you’d expect fated mates to move along, Gracie and her mates move pretty slowly, but with valid reasons for doing so, which makes the relationship development feel all the more realistic. Ravik, Thornar, and Basir are all uniquely amazing mates and absolutely smitten with Gracie and I can’t get enough of their connection. Howling Desire brought us so much more complexity, yet (some) answers, to the upcoming conflict, and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out. Howling Fate will no doubt be an action-packed conclusion to an amazing trilogy!

I loved being back with Gracie and her mates. I didn’t want to put down this book once I started. Gracie finds out more about their special mate bonds and what is needed of her and her mates. White they travel around to the different territories seeking allies for the upcoming threat. Not everyone on their journey is eager to help and actually tries to hinder their progress, but they don’t let them stand in their way to achieve their goals. I really enjoyed seeing the growth of Gracie and her mates' relationships. Each growing in their own way, they are all protective of her and I love that Basir is becoming more open with Gracie. I can’t wait to see what happens and how it all turns out in the final book of the trilogy, especially after that cliffhanger.

In book two, Gracie’s strength and resilience really shine as she travels with her mates Ravik, Basir, and Thornar across different territories. With war on the horizon, they’re racing against time to figure out who they can trust, all while facing constant challenges that push them to their limits. Watching them rely on each other and grow stronger as a unit was one of my favorite parts.
What stood out most to me was how each of Gracie’s relationships develops differently. Every bond feels unique, and the gradual build of trust and emotional connection made everything feel more real and engaging. I loved seeing each relationship come into its own.
And that cliffhanger?! I need book three immediately.
