This is the part to in the Imogene Museum Mystery series! I think that's not what the series is called... but it's close to that.
I liked this one more than the first! It was awesome. The drama in the last part of the story was, quite possibly, the most exciting due to the action going on. It was a quick, great read. I definitely plan to read the rest of the series!
Meredith -- how the hell do you find yourself in these situations, all the time? Always caught in the drama, caught in the crime scene!
Greg was safe in this book -- THANK GOODNESS!
And I really like that Paul and Meredith are together now. He called her babe :) :) :) She was like .... did that just happen? No, it was my imagination, lol.

Decent, lighthearted mystery about a small-town museum curator and a stolen shipment of rustic wooden statues. Doubled Up is the second book in the series.

In Doubled Up, museum curator Meredith, who we met in the first book Rock Bottom, once again finds herself getting into all sorts of trouble. It works very well as a standalone but I personally would recommend reading the first beforehand. It does give some background information, but doesn't spend too much time on recaps or repeat information - which I personally prefer.
This time the museum is embroiled in the mystery surrounding a strange shipment of wooden carvings, and whilst Meredith is dealing with the trouble this brings (with her faithful dug Tuppance at her side), she gets a surprise visitor - her ex-fiancé is in town. We learn a bit more about her personal background than we did in the first. Things escalate, and we meet a few new characters to go with the ones we've already been introduced to.
This is a fairly neat and tidy mystery, amusing, charming and fairly straight forward. Well written in simple language, with characters who always manage to find adventure. It took me around 90 minutes to read it, so a bit of a cozy quickie. Looking forward to curling up in the warm with book 3 tomorrow!

Won this book on Goodreads. Book 2 in the series. I enjoyed this book a little more than the 1st book in the series. I feel the characters are starting to have a real personality as they are developing. I'm glad to see Meredith has more of a backbone in this one and calls her friend Sheriff Marge before she does something that get's her into trouble.... and I an enjoying the relationship with Pete.

And on to the second Imogene Museum Mystery received from Netgalley, which involves the theft of pre-Columbian statues that happened to be in the same shipment as some statuary for the museum grounds. I still very much enjoyed this installment, despite a deep philosophical difference: The statues are of characters by “Ernest Shepard,” Rupert said. “His illustrations for The Wind in the Willows are perhaps the best-known and most loved.” How anyone could say that when E.H. Shepard illustrated Winnie-the-Pooh I just cannot fathom, but then I still have never read The Wind in the Willows. Yet. (I know, sorry.)
But I can set aside such a grievous error in judgment, because the book as a whole is just so darned enjoyable. Meredith Morehouse is an engaging heroine, and I enjoy her point of view. And I want her job. Possibly her whole life.

This is the second in the series where Meredith is the curator of the Imogene Museum. She stumbles across a stolen shipment of strange looking wooden figurines. Are they real or fake? Surrounded in mystery and murder, Meredith digs in to help the local sheriff, Marge, solve the case.
I have not read the first in this series, Rock Bottom, but the author does a nice job of catching the reader up on who's who. I only felt lost once or twice and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. A fun, fast-paced, cute little story. A decent 3.5 stars.

Book two of the Imogene Museum Mystery series. I'm not sure if it can be read as a standalone. The main characters are likeable while introducing new personalities to immerse yourself into. Enjoy solving unique crimes and tips on removing skunk odor. Add the right touch of romance to this fast paced cozy mystery with the museum environment for your reading pleasure. As usual I do not tell the storyline, I am very much against spoilers.

Nadat boek 1 van deze serie mij voldoende kon overtuigen om het volgend deel te lezen, begon ik er vol verwachting aan. Of die vervuld werd, ga ik zo dadelijk verduidelijken. Eerst even de buitenkant bekijken. :)
After closing book 1 I was convinced that I wanted to read the whole series. I was expecting much, very much. Whether I was happy with the result, I will let you know in a moment. I want to talk about cover and title first. ;)
Opnieuw staat het museum centraal op de cover, maar dat stoort niet. Integendeel zelfs. Het geeft onmiddellijk aan dat het om een deel van de reeks gaat en maakt ze daardoor heel herkenbaar. De tekening naast de titel geeft iets weer dat een leidraad vormt door het boek. Ook de titel is een prima keuze geweest. Alleen al de voorkant verdient een ster. :)
On the cover, once again you find a picture of the museum, but I didn't mind that at all. On the contrary! This way it is clear straight away that it is part of the series. The small design next to the title plays a big part in the story and the title is also very good. For these elements only, I would give a star. :)
Het verhaal zelf dan. Dit kwam direct op gang. De eerste bladzijde stond al vol actie, maar ook vol humor. Een perfect begin en die lijn werd heel het boek door gevolgd. Humor, spanning en actie wisselden elkaar af. En wat met de romantiek? Is het nu of ...? Top dus!
The contents than. From page one there was action but also fun. A perfect start and the writer kept up the good work during the whole book. And what about romance ... ;) Is it now or ...? First class!
De boeken kunnen apart gelezen worden maar in volgorde is beter vermits je het leven van de gemeenschap op die manier kunt volgen. Anders mis je toch wel heel wat.
The books can be read separately, but it is better to read them in proper order. The author also follows the personal lives of the main characters and you would miss out on that if you start mixing them.
Conclusie
Boek 3 staat al klaar op mijn ereader. Als deze even goed wordt als het vorige dan staan mij een paar leuke leesuurtjes te wachten. 4 sterren.
Book 3 is downloaded on my ereader and I will start tonight. If it's as good als the previous one, I am in for some excellent reading time. 4 stars

When Ham turns up dead Meredith becomes the prime suspect. Her friends rally around her to offer support and help in clearing her name.
Double Up is another great offering by Jershua Jones and continues her winning style. We get reacquainted with the characters from book one Rock Bottom and meet a few new ones. It is part of a series and most will have no problem reading it as a standalone. I however suggest when reading any series to do so in order so that you can see how the characters grow with each new book. If you are looking for a clean mystery without blood and gore, with a touch of humor and non offensive language then check out Jershua Jones' Imogene Mystery series. You will not be disappointed.

Good but not as great as the first one. Still the same loveable cast of characters, you get a little more of Meredith's back story and more of the hunky Pete.
However, there were some inaccuracies that detracted from the story.
Overall it was a good book and can't wait to start the next. But there were issues to this book that lowered it from 4 stars to 3.

With a boss that travels the world looking for things to acquire for the Imogene Museum, coming to work and finding a big rig parked out front doesn't surprised Meredith. However, the body laying in the rain and mud does! And if this weren't enough, her cheating ex-fiance shows up trying to win her back. While I still do not understand why Meredith is happy living in a travel trailer and I am still attempting to figure out if Meredith and Pete are interested in each other, I definitely enjoy the mysteries that pop up at this little out of the way town and museum with only 28 visitors in a day.

DOUBLED UP BY JERUSHA JONES: This is the second of the series but the first book of the authors I have read. This is stuck into the cozy mystery but that is ok with me because I enjoyed it immensely!
What's a girl to do when you day starts out with pounding rain,a trucker unconscious on the museums property who isnt what he seems, a federal investigation and an ex husband who wants to be apart of your life again?(more like a nuisance).
A very enjoyable,quick, quirky mystery that goes on my list of must read author again!

How have I only just discovered this author and this series! I love it!!
The characters are great, I love Meredith and how she interacts with the other supporting characters in the book as the story develops, I am history and crime nerd so books based in and around a museum and with a crime/cosy mystery twist are like heaven to me. This is a humorous cozy mystery series set in a Washington museum. Meredith is getting some large statues delivered for an outdoor display featuring animals from Wind in the Willows. She finds the driver unconscious from an attack in the parking lot. Sheriff Marge is back along with Pete and the rest of the unusual town folk. This Imogene Museum series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Originally published in 2012

Meredith SEEMS like such a normal person, going to work, taking care of her dog, being neighborly, but drama and trouble follows her! I'm loving this series about the museum curator and her little town.

I am going to read the series... I like the main character and her friends and neighbors... I remember when I fell in love with reading... it was for these reasons. I longed for the main character who I had grown to like to overcome obstacles, find happiness, and make wrong right...
