I was shocked when this series got cancelled, but looking at the other ratings the series has gotten, I'm apparently the only person who liked it??? This series was so much fun though! Sure it's a Blue Lock ripoff. Sure it's seriously leaning on sports manga tropes. But the art was so kinetic and intense, and I loved the animal metaphors actualized in the art. I thought the story was perfectly enjoyable and the art was top tier, so what's the issue? I guess we'll never know where this series could have gone now, as I'm forced to read another chapter of Nue's Exorcist or Kill Blue
It's doing a Haikyuu rivals to teammates thing, but about football. However, it weirdly reads like it was written by someone who doesn't have a complete understanding of how football works. I can see why it was kept to only 20 chapters.
Read this as it released. I'd been planning to drop it before it got canceled because it quickly lost sight of the initial themes it set up that had hooked me, but it really stuck the landing with the last chapter returning to those themes (even in unideal publishing circumstances)
