Fall for You: Verliebt Im Herbst

Rate this book

Fall for you is a short, Autumn themed, stand alone, MM romance by A.J. Truman. This was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be. Full of all the cheesy fall decorations. Corn mazes, apple picking, and of course, pumpkin spiced lattes! Not to mention, two sweet guys who make it all perfect!

Spencer loves summers in Chicago. He’s an athletic guy and is on a summer gay volley ball team. Spencer has no interest in being in a relationship. He wants no part of all the coupley, mushy behavior he has witnessed. He likes his no strings attached one night stands and hanging out with his friends.

Patrick has left Los Angeles and moved back to Chicago after getting out of a bad relationship. He can’t wait to experience fall again after all the years with barely any seasonal change in California. He might even be a little overly enthusiastic with his boxes of fall decorations and candles.

Spencer and Patrick might have gotten off to a bit of a rough start. But when Spencer breaks his ankle playing volleyball, Patrick steps in to help him. As the days and weeks pass, they grow closer but what happens when Spencer gets his cast off? He’ll probably just want to go back to his carefree life with his friends and leave Patrick in the dust. Can he risk getting hurt again?

These two were just so cute together. I loved seeing Spencer enjoy the things Patrick loves, much to his own surprise. Will he realize that mushy, coupley things can be fun? That being part of a couple can make his life better? This book makes me want to rush to my local home goods store and stock up on all the fall decorations. Even though I have several of this author’s books on my to read list, this is the first one I’ve read and you can be sure there will be more.

Here's the "FALL FOR YOU" blurb, since there isn't one up on Goodreads yet. : )
Spencer didn’t want summer to end.

While he lives for leading his beach volleyball team to victory, off the court, he’s all “I” and no team, eager to avoid the drama of relationships. He especially has no interest in his kinda-odd-but-kinda-cute neighbor Patrick, a guy who owns enough pumpkin-scented candles to start a wildfire.

For Patrick, the feeling is very much mutual. He’d rather watch wax melt than share air with his kinda-rude-but-kinda-hot jock neighbor. Newly single from a painful breakup, he just wants to enjoy his first fall back in Chicago.

But Patrick’s plan and Spencer’s perfect summer both come to a crashing halt after Spencer eats it on the court and winds up in a cast. Stuck having to help his neighbor get around, Patrick begins to break through the bumps and spikes of Spencer’s personality. As the two of them experience all the glory fall has to offer, they soon find themselves lost in a corn maze of emotions. But will their newfound closeness fall apart once Spencer’s cast comes off?

FALL FOR YOU is a story for everyone who believes in the magic of love, the beauty of autumn, and the power of scented candles.

This was a very sweet 3 star read. I gave it 4 stars because it brought back so many wonderful memories of living on the lakefront in Chicago. Spencer said Patrick was weird because of his obsession with fall. I thought he was a little over the top myself, but I liked their slow fall into love. I did think their separation went on a little too long.

Rating: 2.5 stars (rounded up)

This was a very sweet, low angst fall-holiday romance but it didn't have enough substance or originality to be enjoyable from start to finish.

The main reason I picked this up was because the summary made it sound like it was an opposites attract enemies to lovers scenario. While the MCs were definitely opposites, they were enemies for about 2 seconds and their animosity is based on a minor interaction. Granted, Spencer was rude during that interaction but the things he said weren't over the line and they got past that quickly. After that little bump, they became friends so the enemies to lovers aspect was really lackluster.

The only part I enjoyed was how well the author paced the development of their romance. In the world of romance novels, the MCs usually find themselves coming into contact with each other way more frequently than is realistic but romance readers usually let this slide because you need the story to happen, right? What I loved about this book is that the author actually takes a realistic approach to Spencer and Patrick's progression from stranger to friends to lovers. Patrick moves into Spencer's building and then they discover their workplaces are very close to each other, meaning their commutes are almost exactly the same so they end up taking the subway together every morning and afternoon. Add in Spencer's ankle injury and it means Patrick wants to help him during the commute, which automatically forces them to have more conversations and interact more during the commute than normal.

Another great addition was Patrick's love for the fall season. It meant Spencer could easily draw Patrick into conversations and unlike if Patrick was a fan of a sports team or a TV show, Spencer didn't have to do homework to have intelligent things to add to the conversation. People tend to have enough knowledge about various holiday seasons in their own countries so it was easy for Spencer to participate in those discussions. Their shared commute and shared fall-holiday discussions lead to them agreeing to go for lunch during their lunch breaks and they also go shopping for fall decor at stores, which was a really nice natural way for them to spend more time together.

One of the cutest moments was when Spencer notices that the clothing on some mannequins in a store he always passes have been changed from summer clothes to fall clothes and he gets really excited because he knows Patrick will be excited when he sends him a picture. Spencer didn't care about fall stuff but it was adorable how happy he was to be participating in something that was important to Patrick and how Spencer's support brought them closer together.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the rest of the story. The beginning was very slow with the MCs spending too much time with side characters and the author info dumping stuff that should have been shared throughout the story. Towards the end, the MCs undergo a completely predictable conflict that's purely based on a refusal to have a 5 minute conversation about their relationship status. It was boring and predictable and it was made worse by the author shoving those pointless side characters back into the story at that point. It was one of those scenarios where both MCs are apparently too stupid to solve their simple relationship issues on their own and the side characters provide the common sense that the MCs lack. I hated it.

There were also too many repetitive sex scenes and as is usual for male romance authors, I didn't enjoy the way they were written (very clinical, blunt, not sexy). It also annoyed me that these guys had sex in public places multiple times, including fall-holiday locations where families could have caught them at any point (once in an apple picking orchard and again in a corn maze). It felt inappropriate and made me uncomfortable.

I also didn't care for the huge number of pop cultural references, including stores, food items and movies. But I did find it funny that the references unintentionally dated the author rather than the characters. All the movies and things being referenced were things from the late 90s/early 00s and since this was set in the present day (published in 2020) and the MCs are in their early 20s, it doesn't make sense that they'd be as familiar with early 2000s media as they claim to be in the book. Nobody who is currently under the age of 25 would reference movies like The Sixth Sense (1999), Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Good Will Hunting (1997) as if they're recent things. Maybe they've seen the movies, but having all of their shared references be things from that time period made no sense.

Also - the authors used the phrase 'see sawing' multiple times when characters were responding to questions and I still can't figure out what that means or what it would look like. I assume it's meant to convey a 'maybe' answer but that's not a thing...? And what does it look like? Please let me know if you know.

Anyway - this has wonderful fall vibes and if you're as into the fall season as Patrick is then you'll probably enjoy it. But it didn't have enough substance to make me happy.

Spencer is not a welcome neighbor to the new guy. He makes jokes about him behind his back.
Spencer is a summer guy and thinks his neighbor is crazy to be obsessed by fall.

Well okay, Patrick has to avoid the cold neighbor. He doesn’t need him.
Chicago is the place to be for fall... and to get away from the biggest asshole of an ex. Ugh

When Spencer ends up in a cast and crutches Patrick helps him as a good neighbor would.

Patrick tries to act less fall-ish around Spencer so he wouldn’t find him even weirder.
Oh, boy Spencer finds out Patrick got inside his head. He likes everything about Patrick.
Patrick loves everything about Spence, they fit so well, he knows it will not last, Spencer will go back to live his life like before the injury and before Patrick.
We can be witnesses of how they have the best time. Until the cast comes off and Patrick withdraws.

Oww, I loved this sweet, friendly, sexy narrative. Two opposites getting closer than close.
They were fun to watch, a lot of feelings here. Steady paced and captivating.
I adored it all!

What a HEARTWARMING and STEAMY M/M ROMANCE this was! Perfect for the fall season too! This is my first read of A.J. TRUMAN and it didn’t disappoint! The story follows Spencer wants summer not to end and avoids relationships at all cost. He especially has no interest with his new cheery neighbor Patrick, a guy who loves the fall season. When Spencer’s perfect summer comes to him being in a cask, he is stuck having Patrick helping him get around. As the two of them connect and grow, they soon find themselves lost in their eyes. A cozy novella that is easy to read, and for those who love the autumn season! Would recommend!

I was looking for a short, sweet, low-angst book and that's exactly what this was. Patrick's obsession with all things fall was adorable, and the more time Spencer spent with Patrick, the more he too began to appreciate the fall season. I was upset with Patrick towards the end; I didn't think Spencer did anything wrong. But, they eventually sorted things out and reconciled.

Fall for You was the perfect launch to my favorite time of the year. I haven’t read anything by this author before but I definitely liked his style. It was smooth with pockets of sweetness and heat, making for the perfect quick read to put me in a great mood.

Shorter, well- written books are some of my favorites. I liked how Fall for You had a bit of the forced proximity romance combined with an opposites attract storyline. Spencer and Patrick were pretty easy to like, though Spencer irked me a bit when he picked apart Patrick’s interests. That said, I did like seeing him adjust his stance as he got to know and understand Patrick. Their romance was unexpected but sweet, and the dialogue smooth. The conflicts, though a bit silly and overblown due to miscommunication- or lack thereof- were resolved completely by the end. And while this is a novella, the pace wasn’t rushed at all. All in all, Fall for You was a really well balanced novella.

I loved that the author incorporated so many of the things I think signal fall is coming without the plot feeling forced or trite. Fall for You was like a warm cup of your favorite autumn beverage, and I ended with a smile on my face and ready for all things fall to start up in my home.

A book about loss, love and the changing seasons.

3.75 "Autumnal" stars. ***SPOILERS!***

Patrick is sick of Los Angeles, California with its one long summer season. He loves Autumn (to be refered to as Fall from now on) and craves the four seasons. He decides to move to Chicago during that city's hottest month, July.

He moved into a nice third floor apartment in a multi- apartment building. As he's moving boxes into the building, his neighbor from across the hall, Spencer, and his friend, Ryan, begrudgingly help Patrick with the remainder of his possessions. As the trio climbs the stairs, Ryan makes a nasty comment about Patrick that Spencer agrees with. "The guy is weird."

This comment alienates Patrick from Spencer. Until Spencer breaks his foot playing volleyball and has to wear a cast for a month. Putting aside his dislike of the man, Patrick assists Spencer as he struggles down the stairs trying to make the El train to work. Reluctantly, Spencer accepts his "help", a word Spencer hates, and the two begin a workday routine of Patrick carrying Spencer's crutches, helping him down three flights of stairs and clearing a pathway for him onto the crowded train.

Sadly, the remainder of the plot is a basic man falls for another man, they have sex, but at a party, one man (Spencer) tells the other man (Patrick) he only wants to be friends and doesn't do relationships. His hopes and heart crushed, Patrick ignores Spencer, refusing his texts, emails, calls and door knocks. He even goes so far as to leave for work and hour before Spencer so he doesn't meet him in the stairwell.

The rest of the plot follows the identical plots of so many previous books I have read, but with one small difference... Spencer actually apologizes first.

Afterwards, Patrick cannot deny his love for Spencer and visa-versa. A typical HEA.

The world building was well done, with me learning a lot about Chicago and the El. The dialogue was on point with just the correct amount of snarky humor, as well as expressed feelings. I felt myself being pulled into Patrick's love of Fall and the other seasons, although I despise Summer. (Side note - When I was a young boy 5 decades ago, I can remember having snow in November. Now, in the past few years, I rarely see ANY snow until late December or January! Don't tell me there's no global warming!!)

If you want a book with seasonal vibes, a fairly average plot and the usual misunderstandings between two men trying to establish a relationship, this book has all that. I am not saying it is boring or I would not have finished reading it. It is just predictable.

A very sweet and cozy story that will leave you feeling all the warm fuzzies. Patrick is an adorable Autumn-loving nerd, and his endless logical reasons for why are so endearing. Although it takes a broken foot and reluctant admittance to needing a bit of help, Spencer finally begins to see that about his new neighbour. I was as hurt as Patrick when they first met and Spencer and his friends didn't treat him the best, but it made my heart happy when Spencer realised he was wrong. And more than that, he slowly became enamoured with not only Patrick, but Fall as well. There's only a little bump in the road when the magic of Fall is almost over, but when Spencer finally opens his heart, he makes the move to ensure that the magic between them is only just beginning.

Two gay Chicago neighbors get off on the wrong foot, but one ends end up with the other's foot on his lap one night as they "innocently" watch a movie. It's fall, or going to be, once they both get their heads out of their ass and recognize that seasons come and go, and only love that lasts.

Good concept, but the writing felt dashed.

This was such a sweet story, and a PERFECT book to read during the fall. Spencer loves the summer and playing beach volleyball. Patrick loves the fall and the change of seasons. Spencer thinks Patrick is odd and doesn't really engage much with him since they have seemingly nothing in common. When Spencer gets hurt and needs some help, Patrick helps him despite knowing how Spencer feels. It was sweet to watch the guys get to know each other and for Spencer to warm to Patrick's ideas of fall. Patrick helped Spencer see the world in a larger way, and Spencer helped show Patrick that it's OK to like what you like. A feel-good story, perfect to read cuddled in a blanket while smelling fall candles.

Patrick and Spencer's story was as steamy and sweet as a pumpkin spiced latte and as enjoyable as a frolic through a giant pile of fallen leaves! This book had great writing, tons of humor, and was just the hit of nostalgia I needed to kickstart my own Patrick-like obsession with autumn. The whole chapter about their trip to Yankee Candle had me in stitches. This was a fun, light read to put you in the mood for the best season ever.

3.5 🌟

When I downloaded this via Kindle Unlimited, I didn't check the number of pages so it was a surprise when I suddenly was in the middle of the story. But it was not a horrible surprise, and that coming from a novel length book lover says a lot.

This is a cute and simple story about two opposites guys. One is a summer lover who plays sports and likes outdoor activities, while the other moved from California to Chicago running away from the sun and the heat of year long summer season.

Spencer and Patrick first meet each other while Patrick is moving next door and Spencer helps him with the boxes. Their first encounter is nice but it's clear from the first minute they are like oil and water... And that leads to a terrible moment where Patrick overhears Spencer calling him weird. That, as you can imagine, is the end of their friendship and neighboring amiability.

Enter a broken foot and that's what makes things change between them. Patrick wants to ignore Spencer and its obvious he feels the same about him... But seeing him with a casted foot trying to go down three floors and then commuting to work it's too much to ignore, so Patrick starts helping him and, before they know it, they start becoming friends.

But where's the line between friendship and love? What does a romantic relationship entail? Patrick has had a horrible experience with his previous boyfriends and Spencer is not boyfriend material... He enjoys being free and doesn't want to change because he gets mushy with love. But something is clear: they like being together and also having sex together.

So when time goes, Spencer's foot heals and it's time to get things straight between them, this get difficult for both of them and there are many misunderstandings and communication issues.

I think it was the perfect plot for a short story. It felt enough, and I didn't get the feeling I usually get when reading short titles (the inevitable "it lacks depth"). With the amount of pages this title have there's enough room for them to fall in love in a realistic way, for we to see them starting liking each other but not wanting to fall in love, for we to see them confused and brokenhearted when they misunderstand each other... It was cute and romantic and I loved how fall, summer and all the seasons played in the story.

This is the second title I read by the author and tmifs the second time I enjoy the experience, so I'm definitely going to try reading more of them. I wish for him to write Ryan's story (Spencer's best friend) because he was a nice friend and he could give us a good romance too!

I wanted a cute, contemporary romance about fall but gay and this delivered at first. Unfortunately, it needed more editing and fell into the third-act breakup pitfall.

Notes
early 20s dual pov gay men, Patrick loves fall and winter decorations and candles, Spencer loves sports
gay volleyball ayy
i don’t like July 4th, i agree with patrick
if gay volleyball is friday nights and fourth of july on saturday, why did a guy need to quit the leave when his bf wanted friday night date nights
feel like spencer should have been the one to say there’s plenty of other things to do besides be in a relationship
some grammar issues and confusing dialogue
spencer has a gay best friend Ryan since high school
weird that patrick’s pov chapter used a volleyball reference even if it’s third person
could have done with less reminders that fall signals the start of the school year
he left LA and a cheating ex behind for seasons in Chicago
multiple mentions of ‘men do x even gay men’ like hold in feelings
4 spicy scenes, condoms and lube (spencer tops though he might try bottoming in the future), rimming once
spencer doesn’t do relationships because couples are mushy? and his parents are too in love? idk didn’t really work for me especially when he easily slid into a relationship with Patrick. There's a way to pull this off but the writing didn't convince me this time. He also doesn't like that couples end up spending all their time together and aren't viewed as one person anymore.
Third act "break-up" didn't really work for me. It felt unnecessary for a book this short, even with their relationship/commitment issues. They avoided each other for a month
I loved the fall vibes and Patrick's love of everything fall and seeing Spencer begin to love fall too.
loved that Ryan was able to recognize where Patrick's party was at by the couch since he had sex on it before
too many sports references i didn't understand

A sweet seasonal novella that will definitely have you in the mood for Autumn whether you like it or not. I personally love fall but man, Patrick has a serious love affair with anything pumpkin, apple, or colored-leaf related.
Spencer is Patrick’s neighbor and he too initially feels this Autumn love affair was a tad weird. Unfortunately, calling his new neighbor this and being overheard now has the two men avoiding each other. I instantly disliked Spencer but I could see myself throwing an apple cider at Patrick after a while when he went on and on about Autumn! However, Spencer was really rude!
After receiving a serious injury, Spencer is alone and struggling. Patrick really is a decent man and though his neighbor’s words did sting, he offers to help him through this difficult time. Commuting together, the two start to bond and begin having lunch together. On a shopping trip to a candle shop (yes, Patrick needed a pumpkin candle) Spencer tags along. The candle store scene was hysterical and I may never look at Autumn scented candles in the same way again! At first, I thought he got really carried away with his shopping but then I remembered a past trip I had to a designer handbag outlet and decided, who am I to judge?
The two men find out they have more in common than either could imagine. I began to thaw about Spencer and felt the two actually could make a great couple. This is a sweet little story that had some angst thrown in. I enjoyed their friendship that turned into more even though both men are terrified of being hurt. I recommend this fun and tempting book with pumpkin spice undertones. Happy Reading and Happy Fall!

Fall is a fabulous season!

Patrick is slightly over the top in his love of Fall but his reasons are understandable. He is an attractive, friendly, fun guy that is trying to get a new start on his life after leaving California and GFA behind as well he should. It shows he was way to good for those the one he left there by agreeing to help his neighbor who decided he was a weirdo because of his overzealous love of Fall. Spencer has issues of his own though. He is a good guy but just doesn't want a relationship because He doesn't want to get mushy. That all changed when he begrudgingly needs the help of his cute and sexy, yet weird neighbor. This book is very sweet and brings both of these men to a place for one to trust again and the other to let go of their fear of loving someone. They are great for each other in many ways and who knew that by giving a crutch to Patrick turns him into a full on bodyguard! The broken foot and love of all things Fall set there two on a sexy and at times rocky road and even a Death Star corn maze to love and a HEA . I would recommend this book for a quick, light and happy read.

I think I was really rooting for this book because lord knows we need more MM romances written by people who aren't straight moms. Please. The book itself was pretty good, and I definitely got invested in the characters.

The sentence in the blurb, "As the two of them experience all the glory fall has to offer, they soon find themselves lost in a corn maze of emotions," made me laugh out loud. Absolutely hilarious.

While I didn't believe that they would be accidentally-providentially dressed in couples/complementary costumes, I laughed out loud with "Tom was the saddest bottle of ketchup anyone had ever seen. He drooped on Ryan’s couch sipping his beer in the middle of a boisterous Halloween party."

I was on board for this book, and I'm definitely up for other works from this author. At this point, I'm more excited for more from this author than I was ready to pick up another May Archer after I finished Pick Me.

I absolutely fell for this author after reading Hot Mall Santa, and was determined that this was a "forever follow" for me.
I love his approach to holiday themed romance, and I love his writing style.
This autumn/fall themed story is to die for, with lovable characters and an easy-read steady-paced tale of (sort of) enemies/neighbors who are forced to get along due to some unfortunate and unforseen circumstances.
I highly recommend this book... And, of course, this author!

I've docked one star, however, for multiple bad and careless errors and typos. I'm not sure how a proofreader could miss these, and this, unfortunately spoiled my overall enjoyment of the book.

° Standalone
° Dual POV third person
° Heat - 4🔥 for steamy content. (infrequent with limited profanity)
° mm romance.

This author knows how to write beautifully with descriptions of fall and other seasons that pull you in and makes you feel, smell and see what he is describing for you. "Fall For You" is a romance that is sweet, gentle and loving. Patrick loves fall and he is not afraid to spew out words that describe his favorite time of year. Just moving Back to Chicago, he is looking forward to August as it is the pre-fall season. Spencer is a jock. Loves volleyball and pays no attention to any season except summer, his favorite time of year. The two love across from each other on the third floor of walk up apartments. Needing help, Spencer and Patrick make a connection that neither see coming and find that they learn to love each other and the gifts that each season brings. Now alls they have to do is give up the hurts of the past so they can move forward into each season with each other.

This story was short and manageable, which is precisely what I was in the mood for lately.
While the atmosphere was vivid and cozy, I have to admit that, being the girl of summer that I am, I could never get into the spirit of autumn that soaked the pages (so to speak, because I read it in kindle format). As far as selling the fanaticism for autumn, the case that was made was never strong enough. Not for me, anyway.
I've said millions of times that I rarely have a problem with instalove. That remains true. However, the second part of my usual statement clarifies that my objections remain non-existent as long as the trope makes sense. In this case, I wasn't feeling much of that either.
Overall, it wasn't a horrible story, but I guess we could say there's a lot, a lot, a LOT of room for improvement. So there's that.

Remember... “you can’t spell scared without care”

This book is sweet like a Macintosh apple… warm like a roaring bonfire on an October night… wonderful like making angels in a pile of freshly raked leaves…
Spencer and Patrick, the main characters, are so delightfully flawed and human I didn’t want to stop seeing the plot unfold.
When I read a book I see the story as a movie in the little theatre in my mind and the descriptions of the environs of Chicago and the El were so crystal clear it made me remember being there in those exact locations, riding in those crowded cars, and walking those historic streets.
A perfect read for any season but especially now during “The Launch of the Fall Season.”

Patrick moves to Chicago - he's ready to embrace living in a city with all 4 season, most importantly fall. Fall, to Patrick, represents a new start - something he needs after living in LA for years. Spencer lives across the hall from Patrick. A love-'em-and-leave-'em type, he's *never* going to be trapped in a relationship and certainly not with his weird new neighbor whose love of fall is a little extreme.

But fate has something else in plan for these two men as a broken ankle means these two neighbors need each other whether they want to or not.

This story was super sweet- it's very hard not to love Patrick and Spencer. Great quick read!

I was in the mood for a quicker read and have enjoyed this author's South Rock High series so I figured I'd give this a shot and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed a cute, quick read with little drama. I'm not the biggest fan of the 90% miscommunication trope, it just feels overdone so it lost a star for that from me, even though it resolved itself rather seamlessly.

Patrick is newly returned to Chicago after following a ex- to California, where their relationship ended badly, and is looking forward to experiencing the glorious season of autumn once again. His all-in approach was a little over-the-top, but that's kind of what I signed up for. His obsession seems a little weird to his new, summer-lovin' neighbour, Spencer and they mostly steer clear of each other until Spencer ends up on crutches and Patrick does the neighbourly thing and begins to help him out. Spencer isn't much for the 'mush' of romance, but as they begin to spend more time together (in the more adorable ways, might I add) they realize that maybe they have more in common than they first though and they begin to spend more and more time together, but what will happen then Spencer's cast comes off and he doesn't need Patrick any more?

This was a cute, easy read! I loved how it was opposites attract lowkey but make it "I love Fall" vs "I love summer". I loved all the fall activities and the candle enthusiasm (though I did work at Bath and Body works for a while and their fall scents are slept on! sorry to Yankee candle lol). Spencer and Patrick were cute, I loved how unapologetically into each other they were. There was no doubt of their attraction to one another from the beginning. My problem with novelas is that I'm always left wanting more!!!

Fall for you by A.J Truman is a short, funny, rom-com read that is great for the fall time.

This book is like drinking a pumpkin spice latte. You feel the warmth of fall, pumpkins sitting outside on a porch, the leaves changing with the season and the warmth of a knitted sweater.

If summer & the 4th of July was a person it would be Spencer. He loves summers in Chicago and being on the volleyball court. After an unfortunate series of events (KARMA!!) Spencer is hurt and can’t enjoy the rays and beaches. I loved to hate Spencer in the beginning of the story. As the book went on I slowly started to like the guy more.

Moving right along like the seasons we meet Patrick. He has just moved to Chicago after years of living in sunny California. Patrick lives and breathes fall. The apartment he is renting is fully decked out in everything you can find at a Michaels Store. (Which I loved)

The moments between Spencer and Patrick are rocky. This isn’t the fourth of July fireworks that make your swoon more like getting rained out the day of. Getting to see the relationship grow, break, and repair itself was beautiful. I loved the way that A.J had warped it all up.

A wonderfully sweet and sexy story about two men who seem to be polar opposites. One who loves the heat of summer and sports and the other who craves the crispness of fall and the colors and smells of autumn. But circumstances bring them together in a way that allows each of them to see the beauty of the other but also brings the complications of feelings. I'm a definite autumn girl and Patrick is my spirit buddy for sure. Love can be complicated but the mush is worth it.
