I was sent to take down her father’s network. Instead, I watched her mother die— And let them take Charlie Bennett. I’m not her hero. I’m here to fucking burn for her.
She was never supposed to matter. But the second I saw her, I stopped thinking like a soldier and started stalking like a man obsessed. She was fire and softness—too bright for someone like me. I tried to stay away. Until they laid hands on her.
Now there’s blood on my hands and her name carved into every breath. She thinks I left her. She doesn’t know I’d raze heaven just to touch her again.
But Charlie isn’t the girl I lost. She’s darker now. Sharper. Vicious. They didn’t break her. They built a weapon.
And I’m the reason she had to become it.
When she finds out the truth, she’ll want to hate me. But I don’t just want her fury.
I want her forgiveness. Her love. Her loyalty. Her future.
Because without her? The monster wins. And I’ll burn the world before I let that happen.
This book absolutely wrecked me in the best way. Burn for Her is raw, emotional, and beautifully written from start to finish. From page one, I was completely consumed by the story and deeply invested in the characters’ journeys.
Charlie’s strength and transformation are breathtaking to witness. She’s a survivor in every sense of the word, clawing her way back from the darkness and slowly becoming the force she was always meant to be. The mental and emotional battles she faces are just as intense as the physical ones, and watching her take control of her pain and turn it into power? Absolutely unforgettable.
And then there’s Beck…soft, steady, patient, and fiercely devoted. The way he shows up for her, helps her rebuild, and never once gives up on her is nothing short of beautiful. He’s tender when she needs it, tough when it matters, and unwavering through it all. Their dynamic is powerful, heartbreaking, and healing.
This duet is full of grit, pain, love, revenge, and hope. Every word feels intentional, every chapter pulls you in deeper, and every moment leaves a mark. I found myself wanting to highlight entire pages, just to hold onto them forever.
Leah D. Cumming’s writing is hauntingly gorgeous and equal parts brutal and tender and I am beyond grateful to have received an ARC of this masterpiece. I can’t wait to see what she creates next.
I was given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. PLEASE make sure to read the Trigger Warnings before going into this. This is a Dark Romance & the triggers are no joke.
That said, I loved this book!! It was a perfect conclusion of the duet. Beck Wilder, the way you are everything & more that Charlie needs. Charlie, your absolute strength & perseverance to come back from all the f’d up things. I’m just in awe. I laughed, I cried, I had super anxiety driven moments… all the feels were felt reading this duet.
The ONLY thing I wish… was that the books were longer or this turned into a series. But I’m greedy when I love a book & never want the story to end 🥰
Burn for Her somehow managed to take everything that made Bleed for Her addictive and turn the intensity up even higher. Leah D. Cummings leans fully into the obsession, violence, and emotional destruction here, and it made this sequel almost impossible to put down. The chemistry between Charlie and Beck is still absolutely feral in the best way, but this time there’s so much more pain layered into it. You can feel how broken and hardened they’ve both become, and that darker version of Charlie honestly made the story even more compelling. She’s no longer just surviving; she’s dangerous now, and I loved watching that transformation unfold.
What really worked for me was the emotional tension underneath all the chaos. The guilt, possessiveness, and desperation between them gave the story a raw edge that kept me hooked the entire time. The action and twists kept the pacing moving fast, though there were a few moments where I wished certain emotional revelations had been explored just a little deeper before the story pushed forward again. Still, this duet absolutely delivered on the angst, obsession, and “burn the world down for her” energy. If you love dark romance with morally gray characters, violence, and all-consuming devotion, this one definitely hits. I just wish it had been a trilogy instead of a duet, and we saw Rafe get absolutely destroyed in the 3rd book.
I got the amazing opportunity to be a ARC reader for this book and let me just say… wow!
Dare I say that this book is even better than the first??
The passion, the heat, the burn 🔥
This book is primal It’s devotion Desperation And sacred
The way Beck burns the world her to get her back and then stands by her as her weapon while she continues to burn the world that tried to destroy her.. 🤌🏽 😍
Charlie never fully broke. She took what they did to her to build her armor. She is fierce.
There is heartbreak and healing all wrapped up in a burning book.
Leah was not joking when she named this book ‘Burn for Her’ because that’s exactly what Beck Wilder did.
Once this amazing book is released for you to read, I strongly recommend to read your trigger warning!!! This is a Dark Romance book! With Dark topics! It is much darker than the first book (in my opinion but I’m sure others as well)!! Please take care of your mental health! And for the dark, unwell readers like myself, enjoy 😏
I was obsessed with the first book in the Obsession Duet and now I know I had barely scratched the surface.
Burn For Her was the perfect ending to this duet. It had me on the edge of my seat in the last 70 pages and had me figuratively biting my nails at certain parts till I knew what was going to happen.
Beck is still my number one favorite stalker. He will forever be the MMC that I compare future stalkers and monsters to. He literally will bleed and burn the world for the woman he claims as his.
Charlie is the bad-ass that every FMC should be. She didn’t crumple under the weight of everything she went through, no instead she forged herself into the weapon they thought they could use against her to break her.
I absolutely love that it’s a HEA without coming off as the mushy, they’re perfect and happy HEA. They’re happy but still broken and healing and that’s what true love really is. It’s being able to heal together after almost being destroyed in the worst ways.

The book is so very well written. The author tells a story of a young g woman who is taken from her lover and thrown into a prison where her father and sister orchestrate her torture. They want to break her like they did her mother, but she is stronger than they realize. Beck is a soldier who is devoted to Charlie and will burn anything, and anyone, to get her back. He couldn’t save her mother, and now he fears he won’t be able to save her too. Does he save her? Does he finally get the peace he deserves. Does Charlie make it out alive? Can she kill her twin sister like she plans to do? Or does she make it out alive and happy with the monster she loves? Such a good book. The descriptive writing was holding me in the whole time. I love the conversations between characters and the storyline kept a perfect pace for complexity as well.
Quickly read book 1 so I had an idea on what this book was about but honestly,it didn’t really help me understand the dynamics of the main characters or main plot until I was almost half way through this book. I did read this on the back of a 5 star book, so this is more a 3.5 star review. I found the writing choppy, very short sentences which did alter the flow of the story for me, which caused me to struggle to feel anything towards the main characters, I didn’t really have any strong emotions to any of them, which is u usual for me. I didn’t really enjoy the fall of the bad guys in the book, but am still not 100% sure what they had been doing and why Charlie was hated by the, so much. If you like to read things on the dark side then absolutely might be right up your street, I also enjoy these kinds of books, but it was missing something for me.
I have crashed out and struck a wall at the end of this book. It pulls on all our heartstrings and makes you feel everything! Forget reality it doesn't exist as you read The Obsession Duet!
What do I do with myself now?? Also, why do you need to make me cry like that?? 😭
I am lost for words. I loved every single second I got to read and experience this story, I am struggling to find the words to describe what I am feeling and how amazing Burn for Her is.
The love between Charlie and Beck might be a little unhinged, a little dark and sinful, but it is a craving of love, need, and obsession that just cuts straight through to your heart.
I absolutely love Charlie and Beck and could read about them 100 times over and never get sick of them!! ❤️
Thank you, Leah, for letting me ARC read Burn for Her. It was absolutely amazing 🥰
This FMC does not just survive, she becomes the fire. Fierce, unapologetic, and powerful in a way that feels earned, not forced. Watching her step fully into herself was so satisfying.
And him? He absolutely fell first. No question. The way he claims that she remade him, that her monster saved his… that hit way too close to home. That kind of connection feels raw, real, and deeply relatable. It’s not about being fixed, it’s about being seen and choosing each other anyway.
The chemistry is intense, the emotional beats land hard, and the relationship feels grounded in something deeper than just attraction. This book understands that love can be messy, transformative, and a little feral.
Beautifully written, emotionally charged, and unforgettable. I devoured this and loved every second.
I was so excited to finally get my hands on the second half of this duet after that cliffhanger. I was not expecting these twists. This book was wild and the biggest nail-biter with all the build-up and anticipation I devoured this book.
Beck is back and even more unhinged. He stops at nothing to get back what he lost. He is pure rage and vengeance.
Charlie is no damsel, she is tough as nails and refuses to break.
I loved how their relationship evolved and unfolded. Their love is hot, twisted, and beautiful at the same time. Just perfection together. The conclusion was fantastic. I love it when everything comes together.
This book is brutal, but I actually liked how unapologetically messy it was. Beck is an obsessive wreck of a man, and the writing leans hard into his self-loathing and violence. Charlie’s transformation from fragile to vicious is the real backbone here, and it hit harder than Beck’s endless inner monologues. The pacing is fast, sometimes too fast, which made a few emotional beats feel rushed. Still, the alternating POVs kept the tension sharp and gave me just enough breathing room before the next violent hit. The prose itself is jagged, almost fragmented at times, which really matched the chaotic tone of their world. It’s not pretty, it’s not clean, and it works.
Unapologetically You ever read a book that stressed you out?! My dam. Intense and emotional felt it in every page. I ached for both Charlie and Beck. Well written the pages dripped with feeling. This picks directly up where Bleed for Her dropped. Dark. Beaten. Yet not quite broken, even though they tried. How close are you to losing yourself to the darkness? They've unleashed the real monster and he isn't stopping until everyone bleeds. Manipulation. Betrayal. Cuts deep. Guilt rages. And love is different no rainbows and bunnies but yet still love. Enjoy
Have a tissue on hand on the two days (or one extremely long one) that you allow for this steamy, twisted, intense, explicit, psychological, obsessive, contemporary, enemies-to-lovers, dark urban corporate warfare thriller that is the sequel to Bleed for Her, and has TRIGGER WARNINGS, abduction, abuse, bondage, betrayal, a broken-family, drugs, erotica, ghosts, grief, ex-military, murder, mystery, PTSD, rape, rescue, romance, torture, twins, and violence.

Burn for Her is dark, gripping, and packed with emotion. Charlie’s resilience in the face of unimaginable pain is both heartbreaking and inspiring, while Beck’s fierce devotion makes him impossible not to love. Their connection is volatile yet healing, and it burns through every page.
This finale blends grit, violence, and revenge with moments of redemption and hope. Leah D. Cummings’ vivid writing pulls you in and doesn’t let go. A powerful, emotional end to Beck and Charlie’s story.
Thankfully, this one jumps right back in from the cliffhanger in book 1. Beck is spiraling trying to find Charlie and mowing down everyone in his path to find her. Note: Lots of graphic body horror in this one.
Charlie is locked away trying not to spiral hoping for Beck to save her. An unfortunate event happens that ultimately flips a switch in Charlie, releasing her inner darkness.
As the book progresses more happens that hardens Charlie to the point where she has to put herself into very dangerous situations to ensure she can stay safe.
Beck is also having to make decisions that go against his nature but that will ultimately pay off in the long run.
In the end, there is quite a bit of redemption but at the loss of others, for better or worse. This is a nice wrap up to Charlie and Beck, but I am hoping the new character that comes to light by the author hints that the story isn’t quite over…
• thoughts•
• This book is way heavier on the gore/violence in the first half (34%) of this book. • Less spice than book 1 but placed nicely so it works • This book is more redemption than romance. I’d say it’s more a dark thriller with body horror and spicy scenes.
• quotes that stuck out to me •
“Every act of violence is surgical. But it's poetry, too. I'm writing holy scripture in screams and shattered bones.”
This book was so good it should be a movie!!!! He was the storm she didn't know she needed, she was his lightning rod! He made her into the weapon she's always been deep down, but now she's ready to take down everyone who has wronged her and stole her mother away from her!!! I hope there's more! Please be more!
Beck and Charlie's epic conclusion will have you hooked and craving more! Charlie's been through the wringer and come out as a weapon, and Beck all he wants is to get her back and earn her forgiveness , but is that something she can even contemplate when his actions caused so much pain. Well written engaging steamy, dark themes, desires, betrayal, twists and more!
Beck made a vow to burn the world to get Charlie back and he did just that.
They thought that they could break her, but little did they know… They created an unstoppable weapon.
Now with old secrets brought to the surface, and knowledge of everything, Charlie is out for blood. With Beck at her side, they plan to Burn The World Down Together!!!!
This moving story is compelling and had me connecting with Charlie and Beck. Her strength both emotionally and physically was empowering and tie in Beck with him being her stabilizer touched me on a profound level. It is a well written duet that will have you reading over again.

This book was everything I had hoped for Beck and Charlie. The raw intensity of emotion between main characters was beyond any love you could ever imagine. Together, Beck and Charlie will burn the world down and leave ashes in their wake. Leah did a fantastic job in making the reader feel completely immersed in all of the action in this book. These characters will forever live in my head
Wow, this was part two of the duet I started yesterday. This was intense from the beginning and just kept bringing it. It was better than the first book and it explained a lot of background that we didn’t get in the first book. We learn things that weren’t known before which made everything make more sense. All in all a good duet.
This is a good conclusion to the duet. Still just as messed up as the first one but Beck really tries to be there and to be what Charlie needs while still being self absorbed and super damaged. Good action and spice as always check triggers as it is a darker read.
The second book kept me more intrigued than the first book. I loved how he would end the world for her and she would do the same. The love at first sight, and love at sight unseen draws the reader in just to see what happens.
Little Monster They thought they broke Charlie, destroyed her. Beck never doubted her. And when he rescued her, she transformed. They will never expect what they turned her into, but they will rue the day!
Got to read this as an arc reader I was hooked from the first page I had to get off of the cliff hanger from book one. Author totally delivered one of my god tier duets of 2025 I will read anything by Leah worth all 5 stars that I gave
Good story and strong character growth, but a few things didn’t quite land for me.
This installment definitely helped a lot of things from the first book click into place. We finally get clear answers about Beck’s military background and what kind of corrupt empire Charlie’s father was running—details that were hinted at before but never actually confirmed. That alone made this book feel more grounded and complete.
I really loved Beck’s twisted, overwhelming, all-consuming devotion to Charlie. His obsessive love felt unrelenting, and while it threw me off a few times, it completely fit the tone of the story. Charlie’s character growth was the highlight for me—she went from hesitant and uneasy about her inner darkness to fully embracing her power. Watching that transformation unfold felt so true to her character.
There’s an attempted SA scene that could have been triggering, but I liked how Charlie turned that fear and anger into strength instead of victimhood.
The spice was decent—solid 3/5—but my main issue was the writing voice. It’s tactical, cold, and hyper-calculated, which suits the plot but sometimes made it hard for me to stay emotionally invested. I also felt the ending left a few frustrating loose ends; while it’s technically a HEA, Beck’s inability to truly relax made it feel more like a cautious peace than full closure.
Overall, it’s a good story with strong characters, even if I personally wouldn’t reread it.
