Children's book from the turn of the century. Very strange and disturbing. From the era where people believed in frightening children into being good.
I searched for 30 years to find the original after coming across a portion of the book as an appendix in another book.
I was fascinated by the nightmarish quality of the pictures as a boy, but other children might be scared. The book is very interesting from a historical perspective.
