Warlock—The Last Mafia Boss From the author of the unputdownable Surrogate To An Unhinged Mafia Boss Brickhouse comes a 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 set in the heart of New Orleans’ 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.
Cassian “Warlock” Alexandre is a man forged by 𝗩𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 and 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗟. As the 𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗽𝗶𝗻 of The Hollow Flame, he’s learned to trust no one and love nothing—except the 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 he built from the ground up. But when Cheyenne Rousseau, a woman with a gentle spirit and a fierce 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆, crosses his path, everything he thought he knew about 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 and 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 is put to the test.
Cheyenne never imagined her life would collide with New Orleans’ most 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘀𝘀. Drawn to Warlock’s intensity and haunted by his pain, she finds herself caught between the man he is and the man he could become. Their 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is undeniable, their 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 electric, but in a world ruled by 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘀 and 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 is the most dangerous game of all.
When 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗹 strikes from the shadows—wearing the scent of family—Warlock’s carefully controlled world erupts into 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀. With Cheyenne’s life on the line and 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 closing in, he must confront the darkness within himself to protect the only woman who ever touched his 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁.
This was a great read. An untruth whom war lock is and was created to be. Their story was different and heartbreaking. You would've never thought that they would fall hard especially warlock. They did her dirty did granny dirty . I can't wait for part 2.
When Warlock made his appearance in the series "Surrogate To A Unhinged Mafia Boss" I really didn't care for him. He swept through like a dark Entity but after reading this. I have a better understanding of the darkness that surrounded him. His mother Reign was the most evil, conniving, scandalous, vindictive, manipulative, hoe. Warlock was beaten, mental and physical abused. Reign was raising Warlock to get a seat at the table with The Hollow. Something she could never accomplish. Anything that made Warlock still seen as human. Reign made sure to snatch it away. Warlock thought for year's that his father was murdered. Although Silas was in The Hollow. He was a father when it came to his son and Reign hated it. When Warlock met Chy and Reign found out. Reign was plotting to get rid of Chy as well. She felt showing emotions was a weakness. Chy brought out a light in Warlock. Allowed him peace, to still feel like a regular human being but with Reign lurking in the background along with Chy clueless to the fact that she was supposed to die year's ago in the accident with her parents. Warlock tried his best to make sure Chy was protected. He knew what his mother was capable of. Tessa is a mess. She had me laughing hard as hell throughout this book because I knew she got on Warlock nerve but he low-key was amused by her. Her also knew she loved Chy like a sister and had her back. When Chy grandmother told her that her parents wasn't who Chy thought they was. I thought she was going to learn the full truth about them and their death. I almost thought Chy and Warlock wasn't going to make it because of all the drama going on and Chy grandmother getting attacked. They was fighting like hell to be together. Her light and his darkness meshed well together but neither of the two realize that death was hoovering. I felt sorry for Warlock when he found out what really happened to his father and how Reign was cold and unbothered about him learning the truth. Reign torment didn't end there. When Warlock took his oath and seat at The Hollow table, aired out what his mother had done, and had her snatched up. I knew she still had her plan in motion. I wasn't prepared for that ending. What happened to Chy broken Warlock. Chy didn't deserve that and I know damn well it's going to break Chy grandmother and her best friend Tessa. Chy grandmother warned her about the darkness surrounding Warlock but the heart wants what the heart wants.
First off let me start by saying I took my time with this book and savored every last word! Brickhouse started Warlock's story as if her life depended on it. I've read several of her books and I can without a doubt say that none have compared to this. This was like her magnum opus, writing Cass/Warlock's origin story. He was a character that had the goodness bled out of him - literally by the person you always expect to be soft with you, your mother. Reign wasn't a mother in any sense of the word. She was a power hungry barracuda in search of a weapon... which just happened to be her son. Then in walks Cheyenne. This church girl, college student trying to be her best self is saved by a man she's not sure whether to fear or submit to. Their courtship is messy, beautiful, complicated, and paints a target on both of them. Reign refuses to allow this goody, good girl who by all intent and purposes shouldn't even exist turn her weapon soft. I was ready to throw hands with Reign on several occasions. Y'all knowing how War turns out, I'm not sure what's going to happen next. I just know I'll be ready or maybe not ready for where the ride takes us. I love getting the glimpse into War, Muriz, and Birishia's beginnings. If you've read Surrogate to An Unhinged Mafia Boss you know these two are still riding with him. When I read War in the previous series, there was this curiosity/I don't know if I like him vibe. Now, I have this understanding of a man that has definitely been flamed tested and H3LL approved. I literally have an ubsured amount of highlights, and Tess was such a comedian. On pins and needles for book 2. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
Brickhouse has done it again, delivering a dark, unforgettable romance that grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go. Warlock: The Last Mafia Boss isn’t just a story—it’s an emotional whirlwind set against the dangerous, magnetic backdrop of New Orleans’ criminal underworld.
Cassian “Warlock” Alexandre is the perfect blend of ruthless and vulnerable, a man forged by violence, betrayal, and survival. Cheyenne Rousseau, with her gentle spirit and fierce loyalty, is his unexpected counterpart—the calm in his storm and the spark that ignites his world. Their connection is raw, undeniable, and dangerously beautiful, pulling you into every heated glance, every risky choice, and every heart-stopping moment.
I felt everything reading this—love, rage, hope, heartbreak—and it’s only the beginning of the series. The balance between the darkness of Warlock’s world and the light Cheyenne brings makes the chaos feel both inevitable and intoxicating. Every twist feels like it was meant to happen, no matter how brutal.
I’m officially hooked. This book doesn’t just set the stage—it kicks the door wide open, daring you to step in and take the ride. Brickhouse, your mentality and storytelling continue to amaze me, and I’m already strapped in for what’s next.
If you’re not ready for a story that blends loyalty, love, danger, and vengeance into something that will consume you completely—prepare yourself. Warlock never plays about Chy… and neither will you.
This was my second series by BrickHouse, and let me just say—I completely get why everyone talks about Warlock. After reading, I fully understand why Warlock turned out the way he did. His mama was absolutely no joke—heartless to the core—and all I can really say is WOW… but you’ll have to read the book yourself to feel it.
This series is not for the weak-hearted. BrickHouse’s writing immediately pulled me in and kept me hooked from beginning to end. Every scene was vivid and easy to follow, with no gaps or confusion. The character development was spot on—layered, believable, and raw. The plot was detailed and perfectly thought out, making every twist feel intentional and powerful.
I’ve fallen in love with this series, and now I’m waiting impatiently for Book 3—or even better, a full book about Aria and Warlock. BrickHouse, you did your thing with this one. I’m locked in!
First off, Amazon please update your rating system cause this is a 100 out of 10.
Now my fellow Texan sister, REAL TEARS! Baby I haven’t cried this hard over a book in a while. I have no words for this masterpiece that you call a book. Girl, I have read all the previous books and was hooked. However, THIS I have to sit with it and just let it breathe. Let it wash over me. The amount of hurt and emotion that was conveyed through your words is…hell idk. My heart is broken. I am completely wrecked lol. Whoever is reading this review, read the book. To understand what’s going on you need to go back and read the previous books (Surrogate Mafia Boss series). I got to go because my chest hurts lol. Bravo Ms Mamas, 👏
This book shows the backstory of Warlock falling in love in New Orleans while being apart of the criminal underworld. Cassian "Warlock" Alexandre, a ruthless kingpin forged by violence and betrayal, has built an empire from the ground up. However, his life is turned upside down when he meets Cheyenne Rousseau, a woman with a gentle spirit and fierce loyalty. Their undeniable connection is electric, but in a world ruled by secrets and blood, love becomes the most dangerous game of all. As betrayal strikes from the shadows, Warlock's carefully controlled world erupts into chaos, putting Cheyenne's life on the line. With enemies closing in, Warlock must confront the darkness within himself to protect the woman he loves. Reign his mother is a very complexed character that is so hardened to love but committed to power. She won’t stop at ruling and refuses to allow her son to fall in love. Her whole mission is to take over either with her son by her side or without him permanently.

I don’t even know where to begin!!! The pain & emotions Warlock endured only made me love him even more than I already did in STAUMB 5!!! I am NOT a Cheyenne fan!!! She didn’t deserve my husband & I have a list of reasons why if folks wanna debate about it!! Tessa was A WHOLE VIBE!!! Loved her down!!! Lastly, Reign 😒 The cuss word emoji is all I can put on here to describe how I DESPISE that thing!!! 🤬 One thing Brickhouse gon do is make you HATE a character and leave you on a cliffhanger that’s gon have you stalking her looking for the next book!!! Keep em coming!!! BLACK 🔥 MAFIA / HOLLOW 🔥 4 LIFE!!
Wow this is deep ..child abuse mentality and psychological manipulation by his own mother..Warlock Been through so much and for him to find love with Cheyenne for her light to shine in on his life for him to see there is light after darkness , secrets he found his After years of abuse he endured from his mother, Reign ..I hope she get her she deserves.i hope Cheyenne is Alive she deserves love ..God will not leave his children behind. She’s the light that God choosen , the light of savior for warlock. I hope Cassisan Warlock comes out on top , with Cheyenne..need part 2
OMG I don’t know what I was expecting when I started reading this book. I thought they would continue with STAUMB but this was so much better!! We got to see how Warlock was created; why he was created. We got to experience his first love & loss!! I love Warlock but I love Cassian too. They’re one and the same with different agendas. Cassian: Peace, love Warlock: Grit, craziness But together??? They are unstoppable and I can’t wait until the next book to see how this plays out!!!!
No, when I tell you, this story took me there the highest lows the ups and Downs, the savage the savage that he has in him and the coldness of his mom he just threw me for a loop through all of that they still found each other and he fall for a piece peace just for someone to try to take it away from him. She abused him. Oh my God what kind of woman was that this story is like nothing else I’ve ever read before a character. RAW open and honest. AND A VIOLENCE THIS IS A GOOD STORY
If I had to have a mother like Reign then I'd rather be an orphan. That lady don't have not one nurturing bone in her body. The measures that she takes is unbelievable. I'm so ready for Warlock/Cassian gives his mother the treatment she gave his father but much worse please. I like Cheyenne but she's a lil green to life, especially Cassian's world. I do think they're a good balance for each other. I love Cheyenne's best friend Tessa. I hope she gets her a gangsta. She has her eyes on Muiz so we'll see.💚💚
Wow, what a great book! Warlock's a trip, and his backstory gets you hooked. His mom's a real piece of work. Cheyenne was so lost at first, haha. She and her friend are hilarious. Warlock and Cheyenne are perfect together. Ugh, I hate that it ends on a cliffhanger! But I get it, and I can't wait for the next one. Now I can finally check out some other authors. Girl, you had me hooked 😁. It was my pleasure reading your book 🥰.
This book was all that. It kept your attention, from beginning to end. Holding on to every word with your last breath. You felt it.. everything. The love, the wanting, every breath, he took, every tear shed. You not only read this book you felt this book, and I loved it.
This book was so needed! Warlock/Cas intro was crazy in the prev books. This gave such a great background story on him. Now.. does Chy die or survive and leave because its to much drama??? I am good on Tessa, I’m with Cas, “ do you have to talk so much?” Lol! There is still so peopke heneed to see about this, I cant wait! Great read!
That man loved and worshipped the ground she walked. Two people from two different walks of life coming together. They both were looking for love for different reasons and found that within each other. Mr. 11 inches tried so hard to not bring his world to her door step but that cliffhanger baby Warlock is on a War path
This book was so good, so exciting. I stayed on the edge of my seat. There was alot going on. I can't say to much cause I don't want to tell the story. I can't wait to start reading part 2. I'm sure it's going be good also if not better. Brickhouse you did it again. I loved it. Lata
Omg This book was amazing I was not going to sleep until I finished it I cannot wait to read part 2. This gave a better understanding on who Warlock actually was from the previous series.
Chef Kiss!!👌🏾🤏🏽👌🏾🤏🏽...Brickhouse, you did that. You made me feel Warlock's pain. And hate his mother ... Very good read, but them cliffhangers ARE CLEANING ME😫😫 ..I WILL BE STOKING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA LOOKING FOR BOOK 2 RELEASE DAY 😂🤣😂🧡🧡
I really enjoyed this book. I really understand now why warlock is that way. He all he wanted to be was redeemed and he wanted a second chance he didn’t feel deserving of it or deserving of love. Wow I really cannot wait till the second book comes out.

I’m at a lost of words on this one but now I understand why he turned totally into warlock that mama cold blooded and I can’t wait for her to really feel warlock pain and hurt she caused by taking away the only two people he ever loved
Cheyenne was a little aggy as the story went on, Tess was hilarious!! Warlock was trying, he really was. I enjoyed the story and looking forward to book 2 and 3 and 4 lol.
The way this book ended has my nerves bad. Like why would you do me like this? I can't even believe this book was so good. Lawd how long do we have to wait until book 2? Great book.
From beginning to end I felt every emotion! When is book 2 coming out because the emotions, humanity and now the beast that’s about to be unleashed I need to know ASAP! Love, lies, deceit all come with a judgement day!
I was so hopeful that you would tell his story ,to be born to a , sick crazy evil heartless supposed to be mom. No wonder he was !one that. And now I see why he acted the way he did. Just do one thing in the next book ,End reign. She needs to go.
It’s clear author brickhouse don’t care about us cause Ms Ma’am this whole book was a damn journey. Couldn’t rush it if I wanted too. Had to take my time. Had to learn these folks. Had to feel all the feels and that ending? My God.
Brickhouse.. my goodness. I ate this book up in a day! I couldn’t wait to learn more about Warlock. My heart truly goes out to him. I need book 2 NEOW!!! ASAMFP! Lol. Page turner like a mug. You won’t be disappointed!
I don’t even have any words. Reign was trifling and didn’t deserve to be anyone’s mother or wife. I love how Cheyenne stood up to Cas. Everyone needs a friend like Tessa! I loved this book!
I am not a fan of cliffhangers especially when you do not know when the next book is coming out Chy was pissing me off to the point where I wanted someone to off her myself lol
