This was my first time reading this author. I found the book and writing style less then a desirable, read. There was minimal character development, and honestly left me wondering what the main idea of the story was.

While I’m the type of book reviewer who has read/reviewed numerous genres, from picture books to erotica, but for some reason I’m always shied away from steamy hot romances; perhaps it’s because I’m still basically an old-fashion individual who believes in no sex before marriage.

Having received a free download of this book from the author for having subscribed to her newsletter through an internet giveaway I felt somewhat obliged to reciprocate by reading/reviewing this book.

I love it when the female protagonist is torn between two lovers and has to make a decision which will have a profound on the rest of her life.

Like many readers I’m really fond of first person stories. However, this being, as I’ve already said, my first real experience in reading a story like this, I’m glad it was since it allowed me to step into Marissa’s shoes.

Marissa has a super hard choice to make as she can’t simply make a choice based on how hot Nick or Mitch is looks and in bed. She also must consider what happens when the passion has flown the coop.

While there’s an instant KISMET sort of attraction with Nick, Marissa knows she must place him in the back of her mind once she learns he’s off limits. When Milton enters the picture she now feels her love live has now been fulfilled; but will it be enough to make her forget about Nick.

The writing is quite vivid in making a clear image of Nick and Milton register in a reader’s mind. As I read this book I couldn’t help it, as Mirassa is becoming more and more torn between two lovers, but I began to hear Mary MacGregor’s song playing in my mind.

For giving me my first true hot, steamy reading experience I’m happy to give Ms. Cartwright 5 STARS.

I'm just not sure.

Marissa finds herself on a one month assignment at Adler, Simpson and Brown where she meets Nick who is apparently 'the most devastatingly gorgeous hunk of male hotness you could ever imagine' and she's literally drooling, the sexual attraction between her and Nick is instant and off the charts but then Marissa discovers Nick isn't available but before she can dwell too much on this she meets Mitch Hamilton who also turns out to be incredibly hot.
I have to be honest and say that I didn't like this book anywhere near as much as I'd hoped, I wasn't particularly fond of any of the characters but, and I hate myself a little bit for this because despite the fact that I didn't think it was very good I'm going to read the next one.....I know, I know...you're thinking it can't be that bad if you're going to continue on and no it's not bad it's just not as good as I'd hoped and this is why I don't like cliffhangers, I've no willpower plus it's on kindle unlimited so I'm not actually purchasing the book......I've given up trying to justify it to myself I'm just reading it.

Cliffhanger Ending

This was a cute story and an easy read. It flowed well, and I really didn't notice any typos, which is rare for me.

I thought it could have been developed a lot more with some more in-depth emotions, motivations, and details. I would have liked to see the relationship develop more between Marissa and either of the guys she kind of dates during the course of this book, and gotten more of a sense for why they even liked each other. I also found it fairly unrealistic that this girl walks around not really doing much, and basically every guy in her vicinity wants her. Hey, but that's every girl's dream, right? That's why we read books, because reality can be so boring.

But the scenes with the characters getting frisky were entertaining and enjoyable. I really like the cover of this book. (I notice Book 2 has basically the same cover. I'm wondering why the author doesn't just combine books 1 and 2 to make it one complete book instead of two halves of a book, and then just up the price a bit. I would guess that would prevent issues for some readers who really just don't like cliffhanger endings.)

Overall, it was a cute story.

The author has split this book in half on Amazon so just be careful bc on Goodreads it states it's a stand alone novel but that is not the case on Amazon. I hate when authors leave a story as a cliff hanger to get you to purchase another book.

The book starts off with a Love triangle. Who doesn't love those. The love triangles make you want to choose one or the other but sometimes you just cannot choose one! What is it about love triangles that makes everyone swoon over the books we read or movies we see? Why is this so captivating? Is it because we want to be wanted by more than one person or is it because we want to have choices?
Once Melissa is in this love triangle with Mitch and Nick, who will she end up going for? I am rooting for Nick the entire way...
I was very impressed with this author since it was the first book I have read from her. I usually pick apart typos and so forth, but I didn't find any or maybe I was just too absorbed into the story and overlooked them. Either way, I was happy to have found another story I really enjoy. Onto the next book in the series!

From the moment Marissa sets eyes on Nick, it was like WOW. From then on, she called him Mr. Sexy. In the midst of a heated make-out session, she finds out that he doesn’t have a girlfriend; instead, he has a fiancé. Aw, snap!

This is a mediocre office fling. I admire her resolve to not get involved with an engaged man, but it was only a matter of time before her resolve would crumble. There was a very slow lead up to the sex part—a total counterpart to the provocative image on the cover. I mean, who gets to know each other first in a steamy romance?

Eh, this was okay.

I would just like to say that if this book had not been free, there's no way I would have even downloaded this book.

With that said, by the second page I was already cringing. It's just that bad.

Just as an example of the high quality dialogue:

“It’s nice to meet you, Marissa,” Nick says in the sexiest bedroom voice I have ever heard. My throat goes dry and my panties are melting.

DONE. so done.

A hot and sexy love triangle that will have you needing a cool shower at times. Two alpha males, both hot but one is off limits as he is engaged. The cliffhanger at the end will have you waiting for book #2. Well written and a good book. CC Cartwright has another winner

OMG the back and forth between these 2 is exhausting and repetitive. She’s too immature and he’s a doormat.

Marissa has a work assignment with Adler, Simpson and Brown. Most of the workers are her age but when she meets Nick the sexual attraction is instant. As things heat up she discovers Nick's secret . She meets Mitch who is who is just as hot and as much Marissa finds she can't stop thinking about Nick. Will Marissa stay away from Nick and make a go of things with Mitch?

This book is a good romantic read with good characters and is well written. Pick it up and settle in.

I picked this one up because i had heared and read about it from people and it was free and sometimes you just need a free ebook before you go to bed and fall asleep. Even if it had great reviews I didnt have high hopes and I must say I had a positive surprised. This book is very good and very interesting in so many ways.

Marissa feels so real and has a lot in her that so many women can see in themselves to and that is very good. I could relate to her in a good, positive way even if I never have had two hunks chasing me like she has. Do I do anything wrong? ;)

This book has a storyline so it feels like a book and not just a porn novel like so many books can feel like. I like the story and the twists in this book. It made me drawn in and I started reading it because I couldnt sleep and I couldnt go to sleep until the book was finished to I must confess I got to few hours of sleep last night but it was worth it.

I have now read the first book and it is good, but I also must say that some parts confuses me. It feels like there is parts missing in the book and that takes it down a bit. It felt really unfinished and that is a shame, parts not making any sens and sentences missing. Either way, beside this, I really enjoyed the book and can recommend it. I will buy the rest of the books and read them as soon as I have time and I will pretty quick start with book 2 even if I have so much to do work wise and my "To Read pile" is growing fast.

If you want a nice, modern romance book and series with a good storyline and characters that feels real, this is a book to read.

Marissa is trying to protect her heart, after her recent break up with her long-time boyfriend whom everyone thought she would marry. But when she is persued by two very attractive men, both wanting her as their own, she is struggling to decide. Her immidiate attraction is to Nick, but he's engaged. Though Mitch is a lawyer who looks like a model and is a gentleman towards Marissa. Nick eventually breaks it off with his fiance and him and Marissa become more than business associates, they are more like rabbits in heat. Marissa is still rather unsure of where the relationship will go, she's been warned twice that Nick is a womanizer and doesn't know what to believe. Nick on the other hand is completely taken by Marissa and even confesses his love for her, but she still seems to be pushing him away.

This book is written kind of weird. Like she tells you her thoughts instead of you discovering them from her actions. I received this book for free and will probably read the second part since it is also free when you sign up to the author's mailing list. Clever marketing right there but annoying to only have half a book, especially since I was reading this in hospital and couldn't get the second part there without my computer to subscribe.

I found Marissa a bit odd. Saying she was a good girl but then snuggling up for the night and doing the whole oral thing. To me those two don't go hand in hand and I think she's kidding herself. Plus the main man she has her eye on seems like a dick. I ditched my fiance yesterday and now I'm pissed you won't tell me you love me. Good grief!

My Mr. Sexy by C. C. Cartwright is this series. It is about the life of Marissa Monroe. She just began a new job. On the first day she walls into a meeting and meets the most devistatingly handsome man, Nick Armstrong. There is an unexpected connection she has never experienced before. She soon learns he is off-limits, so she walks away.

Marissa meets Mitch Hamilton, a friend of Nick goes on a couple of dates with him. She has a lot of fun, but she can't stop thinking about Nick.
Will she find what she is looking for?

This is a fun novella to read. I will definitely read the next in the series to see the conclusion!

This was not the book for me. I didn't like Marissa. She's attracted to her colleague Nick. After not even exchanging 10 sentences with each other she agrees to go with him to his place where she finds out he has a fiancée. Nick is to attracted to Marissa to let her go. He agrees to break things of with his fiancée and in the mean while Marissa doesn’t see a problem in a dinner/dancing date with Nick’s friend Mitch ??? The story bothers me but I also didn’t like the writing style. I stopped after chapter 4.

Romance: Mr Sexy 1 by Cartwright is a sexy romp and angst ridden as the main protagonist, Marissa, can't decide between 2 adorable men. Sparks fly between her and Nick but there's something charming about Mitch who is also easy on the eye. Marissa demands that Nick be free of his fiancee before she'll let him in her bedroom. While she's waiting she pursues Mitch though we're not told if he's heart-broken when he's ditched. Marissa keeps sex with Nick at bay because she wants to be wooed and dined. How will it end? Watch for no. 2.

Absolutely love it, I was gripped from picking the book up and refused to put it down until I had read it all. The story keeps you captivated throughout and the development of the characters shows that C.C. Cartwright is an amazing novelist who knows how to pull at your heart strings with a back and forth between two amazing characters. Please read this book, I guarantee that you will love it, it keeps you guessing and never lets off the accelerator in what I call a road trip through love, relationships, love triangle's and everything else that you could want in a romance novel.

This book is not for people under 18.

Marissa is torn between two gorgeous guys - Nick (who is taken) and Mich. This book is mostly about her being torn between the two and making a decision about who to choose.

I found the writing style a little high level with no real detail or examination of thoughts or feelings. I felt that the Nick existing relationship could have been expanded and that all these situations she got herself into just make her appear as a great big tease. I don't think I'll go near the next book in the series.

Please read the whole review............

3.5 stars- Quick read. Unusual story. It's written in a way that made me find it difficult to connect with the lead lady. I am not sure if it's the storyline or the character itself.

For a part of the series it wasn't a bad read. It's a contemporary romance with a love triangle element. I have issues with this element and feel this may be why I didn't connect with the story.

The storyline was well developed for it being part one of a series. The characters were well developed and relatable if this is your kind of story.

Read this in about half an hour. Not enough substance or depth of character for me. With more development this could be interesting, but as it is I just could not connect with the main characters or understand either of their decisions. Relationships develop from getting to know each other. To be willing to throw away a good relationship it has to be about more than lust. At least, that's my view.
