I bought this at a book fair so part of it's my fault for being sucked in by the subtitle and not really looking inside before my purchase.
Regardless, I was disappointed with the content. It's largely an extended discussion of the thinking behind and execution of a particular art installation (which, I'm sorry, I do not think adds much to the conversation of "Being a Cultural Worker in the Apocalypse") and an earnest pitch for The Hologram, a mutual-aid framework for community support that seems to have grown in relevancy and reach during covid.
The stuff about The Hologram (essentially a subject convenes recurring check-ins with 3 of their peers, each of whom are responsible for checking in on a different aspect of their health and wellbeing) was the most actually interesting and actionable and I considered whether I'd want to try something in my own life.
