Ok in all seriousness, I know how to make small talk but every time I have to go to a bunch of work conferences in a short period of time I like to pull some new tricks outta the hat. This wasn’t bad per se, rather a good refresher. Also, am I in my bad review villain era????

I absolutely loved this book. I listened to the audiobook version. The narrator, Dave Hill, sounded like he loved the book as well. He emphasised in the right areas, has an easy-to listen to voice, and his speed was spot on. The audiobook was 3 1/2 hours long. I would listen to this narrator again.

The advice was easy to follow, and I liked the fact he summarised each chapter at the end- even though the chapters were short. He gave many examples of what to say, what not to say, and how to recover from errors you make during your conversation. The author gave us body clues for us to observe to see if the recipient was enjoying the conversation as well. We also were given clues to how to deepen the conversation when it is going well, as well as ways to exit when it is not. You come away with a better understanding how to strike up a conversation with either a stranger or acquaintance. I liked that it was geared for everyone.

I will read from this author again and recommend this book to anyone who was interested in learning how to master small talk. I'd like to thank the author for a complimentary audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent advice for shy people

This is an excellent guide to help people get started with improving their conversation skills. It would be very helpful with shy people. I like the fact that there are phrases that can be used to start conversations in a variety of situations. There are many extras included with the book, free resources that the auther makes available. Highly recommended.

It was alright. A quick read or I may not have finished it. If you truly feel socially inept and incredibly awkward this is probably really good for you. For the average person who is even an okay conversationalist, it’s too basic. I the second half was better and had some insights that made me rethink the way I show up in personal interactions, but overall I don’t feel like I gained too much from reading this.

This Audio Book was easy to follow, the narrator spoke very well and kept me engaged.

I realized that sometimes the simplest interaction with people could make the other persons day and put a smile on their face and make them feel acknowledged and valued.

This Audio book also has some information on how to recover from social blunders.
