Sarah Hawke is a prolific writer of science fiction and fantasy in multiple genres, including erotica, harem, and bondage. Her books are known for their intricate world-building, twisting plots, and fleshed-out characters—and of course their many intense, steamy sex scenes.

If you are interested in "pure" traditional harem stories, The Lost Fleet is the perfect place to start! Wings of the Seraph is a shorter, older series but also hits most of the traditional harem notes. Shadow of the Seraph features a rotating male and female pov with some F-F scenes involving temporary futanari, so avoid that unless it is your jam!

Her fantasy universe features many types of erotica stories involving bondage (Elf Slave, all the Spider Queen books) and non-traditional harems (The Amazon's Pledge, The Amazon's Vengeance). This book was pretty good, but not great. Maybe it was just the mood I was in while reading it, but the political intrigue and various backstabbing the MC and his princess are dealing with felt a little tedious. That's one of the problems with the MC or a LI being a royal. All the intrigue that is often outside of the MC's control they have to deal with.

Three books in and I still can't tell if this series is supposed to be a harem or reverse harem story. Initially it seemed like a book about the dragon princess and her reverse harem (including her loyal and subservient MMC) but it's shifted a bit and I'm still confused (he's still loyal and subservient but seems to have a bit of independence). It's got some elements of both sub-genres but, ultimately, it's neither.

It's actually a polyamorous story, that's been incorrectly tagged as harem, where a group of people with mixed sexualities all have sex with each other - very disappointing. This story may be of interest to you if you enjoy polyamorous stories with BDSM, femdom and bisexuality with multiple protagonists and constantly shifting points of view in a highly political (i.e. boring IMO) fantasy setting.

The author has always dabbled in various sub-genres/story tags and it seems like she's back to BDSM, femdom and lesbian again. This is further evidence that this series is far from a true/pure harem genre story. A pure harem story would never feature a switch MMC who submits for BDSM (orgasm denial and torture). Her stories have gotten progressively more political over time and now seem to fill most of the pages droning on about boring political views, influences, actions and situations. Reading it is boring and a waste of my time.

MMC is supposed to be a demi-god dragon military officer but he's so afraid and intimidated by a little dark elf woman that he actually shudders/trembles in her presence. There's even a scene where MMC submits to her BDSM like a good little sub and ends up disappointing her by pre-ejaculating. I'm sure lots of people are into that type of stuff but I found it all so obnoxious I'd probably rather listen to someone scratching a blackboard.

Hot, Witty, and SO Epic!

This series keeps getting better! I love all these characters, but Vin especially makes me grin. There’s so much sizzle every time she talks. And there’s a new great addition to the cast! I won’t spoil it, but I was delighted by the, ah, “darker” perspective that’s joined the crew.

Rilas is a fantastic villain. He’s delightfully mad, but it never goes over the top. Sarah writes him the way I wish Hollywood wrote more of their villains: as the ruthless hero of their own story with their own twisted moral code.

An immensely fun, well-crafted story. I highly recommend it!
