Lyft: A Celestial Spheres Novel
Gray-eyed. Futureless. Outcast. Princess Xandra Sapphirian has never been fully accepted by her people or her family. But when her cousin and uncle do not return from their mission on the Lyft sphere, the princess must prove her worth—to her family, her people, and most importantly, herself. With her future absent in the flames, it’s vital she makes her potentially short life count.
Rochan was born a boy, a sin according to his spiteful, domineering mother, who just so happens to be the Empress of Lyft. Now that he's of age, the empress wants to ensure her legacy by auctioning him off to the most “worthy” girl in a round of deadly games. Rochan longs for freedom, and his long-buried defiance begins to surface with the arrival of a beautiful fiery princess.
Will Rochan’s feelings for the princess break him free? Can Xandra become Lyft’s champion and survive? In this return to the Celestial Spheres, watch a new generation of Sapphirians follow in their parents’ footsteps. According to the family motto, it only takes “Love. Flame. Draca.” to conquer an entire sphere. Simple, right?

Lyft is an engaging blend of fantasy, adventure, and romance that explores identity, courage, and the search for belonging within a richly imagined world. Lisa Graves expands the Celestial Spheres universe with compelling new protagonists whose personal struggles are just as captivating as the larger conflicts surrounding them.
Princess Xandra is an especially relatable heroine. Living under the weight of rejection and constantly striving to prove her worth, she embodies resilience and determination. Her journey is not simply one of physical survival but of discovering her own strength and embracing the person she was always meant to become.
Rochan's story provides an equally powerful emotional core. Trapped by expectations and cruelty, his longing for freedom and acceptance makes him an instantly sympathetic character. His growing relationship with Xandra develops naturally, adding warmth and emotional depth without overshadowing the larger adventure.
The world-building remains one of the novel's strongest qualities. The Celestial Spheres feel imaginative, vibrant, and full of mystery, while the dangerous challenges, political intrigue, and high stakes keep the story moving at an exciting pace. Beneath the action lies a thoughtful exploration of family, identity, sacrifice, and the transformative power of compassion.
Fans of clean fantasy romance, young adult fantasy, coming-of-age adventures, and character-driven speculative fiction will find much to enjoy. Lyft delivers an inspiring story filled with courage, hope, and memorable characters while expanding an already fascinating fantasy universe.
