When Morie, a bright and determined thirteen-year-old, discovers she’s pregnant, her world feels like it’s falling apart. Faced with the judgment of her peers and the pressure of family expectations, she embarks on a transformative journey to rediscover her worth and reclaim her sense of self. Along the way, she learns that love—whether romantic, familial, or self-directed—is not about perfection but about persistence, resilience, and acceptance.
This lovable romance totally reminded me of Lauryn Hill's song The Sweetest Thing! Morgan A. Evans brought me back to the 1990s when I attended Southern University—think parties, homecoming, and the legendary Omega Psi Phi Fraternity (The Que dogs). This romance hit me right in the feels! If you adore 90s R&B, smiling so much your cheeks hurt, and the HBCU experience, this book is sure to knock your socks off!💙💛
This book was a breath of fresh air🫶🏼 If you like the vibes of the movie ATL you will love this bookI promise. This book is Morgan's debut novel and honestly please show her some love cause it's sooooo gooood!!!!
Another favorite read of 2025🫶🏼 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Lori was a teen mom at the age of 13, her Reggie being that he was 17 cause a little conflict, but through the Grace Of God they Co Parented until Lori found a new love Jordan, Jordon is a real man that determined to get Lori. She was trying to keep the peace but not doing for herself.
This was so good!! I love a good love story and this was nothing short! I’m glad Morie realized a man wasn’t a completion but a compliment. It only made me wish I found my Jordan in college. I can’t wait to see what else Morgan Evans has in store for the romance world because this was a good debut!
I shared a post on TikTok asking for authors to their books and the author posted. I absolutely loved this book! It was a much needed “reset” after the book I’d just finished and didn’t enjoy nearly as much. The characters were easy to love. There weren’t so many thay I had to think about who everyone was when a name was mentioned. I absolutely recommend!
