Rate this book
Ember is her brother’s best kept secret. As the demon drug lord of the Southside of Hell, Dominic fears if she is found, his enemies will use her against him. But one night out, she wanders into a rival drug dealer’s sights and wins his attention. Using this as leverage, Ember convinces her brother to let her join the family business.

Jayce, as Dominic's best friend and most trusted enforcer, is assigned to work with Ember for her first mission. Their task? Uncover the plans of the Westside drug lord.

Unaware of Ember's true identity, Jayce spends the mission trying to survive this new partnership while Ember is ready to risk it all, eager to prove to her brother she can be an asset rather than a burden.

I loved this book and I cannot wait for the next part of this duet!

the slow burn was perfect, brother's best friend trope is one of my favorites. The FMC has great growth and she is persistent and stubborn and I love her. Side characters are great, witty, funny. This story has me giggling and blushing and I definitely stayed up finishing it all in one day!

HM Huntress is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.

A light, fun, paranormal romcom with smoldering heat and a cast of lively characters. The forbidden brother’s best friend trope is executed with patience for build up and tension. The fmc is finding herself as an adult after spending her entire life sheltered.
