Rate this book
Vivian Palmer's tenth anniversary celebration at The Perky Perk café should be a joyous occasion. With both her children home, her weight loss journey complete, and her innovative foam art technique drawing acclaim, everything seems perfect—until renowned culinary journalist Victoria Clark collapses in the town square, gasping for breath despite not being near water. When Sheriff Cooper discovers a specialized medical foam in Victoria's lungs and a modified device in her luxury car, Vivian realizes this is no natural death. Someone engineered an impossible drowning right in the heart of Mocha Mills.

As Vivian investigates, she uncovers disturbing connections between Victoria's death, pharmaceutical research, and previous crimes in Mocha Mills. Victoria wasn't just reviewing coffee—she was building a case against a dangerous medical technology with ties to local development schemes. With her children Jason and Zoe lending their technical and scientific expertise, Vivian follows a trail of evidence involving stolen innovation, falsified clinical trials, and a conspiracy reaching into the highest levels of pharmaceutical regulation.

In this final installment of the beloved Perky Perk Mystery Series, Vivian must use all her observational skills and community connections to expose the truth before anyone else falls victim to the deadly foam technology. As she faces her most sophisticated adversary yet, she'll also discover new beginnings for herself and her family, proving that even an empty nest can overflow with purpose, love, and the perfect pour of coffee in the small town of Mocha Mills.

Vivian Palmer, owner of Perky Perk coffee cafe, is celebrating her 10 year business anniversary in Mocha Mills. In true Mocha Mills fashion, Vivian shares the excitement and celebration with her husband Frank, daughter Zoe and her son, coming in from out of town, her gal pal librarian Sylvia and their close knit friends in the community.

This is an exciting end of the series and it’s a blast of celebration, Vivian’s new foam art techniques to garnish those delightful coffees, and of course murder on the side. This time the murder is bigger and badder too, with evil minions and corporations engaged in attempting to steal proprietary techniques, potential patents and a local farm, if they can get away with it.

Vivian is on top of the situations what is happening and with her Perky Perk team in place, they bring down the baddies, save the farm and the town in doing so and it’s an absolutely worthwhile read

Intense mystery

The final pour delivered the most exciting story of the series. Murder, industrial crime, ang local intrigue. Interesting that another mayor was involved. I not want to be a politician in Mocha Mills.
