For the past year, the residents of Neelsville have been experiencing an unusual phenomenon. Birds are flying into windows, people's eyes are turning black, and the crosses at the local church are slowly turning upside down. This inherent darkness has taken over the town, leaving its usual joyful residents full of unease at every step.
When Michael, aka The Traveller, wakes up in a hospital bed completely unaware he was knocking on death's door, he comes to the realization that the town of Neelsville is in dire need of help.
Mavis, the town recluse with exceptional powers--joins forces with Scout, the Traveller, and others, to rid this town of its demons.

About the author

Wendy was raised in a small, resort town in Northern WI. Her parents owned and entertained a summer resort for over twenty years. It was there she learned to fish, appreciate wildlife, and forge friendships over the years with people that would often come and stay year after year. This upbringing was the inspiration for her debut novel, 'A Grey Resort' which was launched July 29th, 2019 to critical acclaim.

Wendy has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Grand Valley State University.

American Fiction Awards 2020 - 'A Grey Resort' awarded 'Winner' in Romance: Paranormal category.

Wendy has two sets of twins, and when not running around playing taxi to teenagers, likes to spend time writing and working on graphics for her social media pages. Her second book is due to be released in the Spring 2021.

The Choice masterfully weaves several characters into compelling storylines (love the use of flashbacks - done well!) - not an easy feat for an author. There is something here for everyone: intrigue, paranormal elements, character study, and character conflicts that seamlessly catapult the reader into a world that feels like a peek into someone's reality, but one that is tinged with an undercurrent of the paranormal. Author Wendy Kok has proven that "third time's a charm" with this series finale. Enjoy!

Fantastic read. The third and final book in the Grey Resort series. Author Wendy Kok did an awesome job bring this series to an end. I look forward to a spin off of these books.

Today on “Y’all Have to Read This,” I’m back with an intriguing fantasy read: The Choice by Wendy M. Kok. Let me tell you—this one is really out there in the best way!
The story explores the constant battle between good and evil, weaving fantasy elements seamlessly into life in the small town of Neelsville, where unusual phenomena are shaking up the community. It’s a tale filled with love, friendship, power, and faith—all intertwined into a compelling, page-turning story.
By the end, I found myself cheering! I also couldn’t help but reflect on the characters’ choices and wonder if I would have done the same. And that, I think, is why the book is so aptly named—it’s all about the choices we make and how they shape our future.
