The best comic I've read in quite some time. Some of the characters are familiar, the title character is an obvious riff on Batman and another character is quite recognizably Tarzan, but others, such as Madame Ferrier, the elderly master detective, are sufficiently a blend of archetype and invention as to have no obvious model. The whole is a compelling Ruritanian superhero saga which fits comfortably in a single volume, with a satisfying resolution, while leaving ample room for subsequent adventures, while incidentally putting a new and satisfying spin on the "a hero does not kill" superhero trope. This creator has been added to my "buy on sight, read at once" list.
when people say "They don't make books like this anymore", this is the book they're talking about. A vaguely steampunk Batman vs Tarzan and Sherlock Holmes in a fictionalized old England, this book sucks you in and delights at every turn. Eagerly awaiting the release of Volume 2.
