Just re - read this book which I have had since 1975 . The book has a tendency towards sweeping generalisations and skims over key parts in Elvis life such as the move from Sun Records to RCA .In addition has a tendency to use the "N" word with casual abandon , which appears inappropriate these days . The book focuses more on florid descriptions of Elvis's live concerts rather than analysing his musical output. His film output post the army is also given short shrift . Also this was published in Elvis's live time and finishes on an upbeat note . Sadly the time after this book was a period of decline for Elvis .

Some good pictures .
