A gentle reminder that what we may see as hardships or sacrifices are a gift from God and can actually enhance your life. Also these nuns are praying for you whether you know it or not!

Absolutely delightful read that includes both practical “behind the scenes” details on cloistered life like the content of meals and the daily schedule, along with reflections and wisdom on how the lessons of the monastery can apply to all the faithful.

St Therese described cloistered nuns as the beating heart of the Church. This book offers a small glimpse into the personal perspective of living that out, of following Christ in love. Accompanied by beautiful photos, this book is told from an engaging perspective with many personal anecdotal stories. The language is precise, theologically accurate (as written by a Dominican), informative, and accessible for any reader. This book expands the wonderful beauty of community life and what being "one mind and heart in God" looks like on a day-to-day basis. The pictures are excellent and illustrate the story as the different chapters unfold. As a religious reading this book, I found many beautiful insights to help my prayer life grow.

I highly recommend it! I also got it from the Nuns to support their life. https://cloistershoppe.com/joy-within...

I had a really hard time reading this book. Although I did learn more about the cloister and the life of these Dominican nuns, I just couldn’t get into it.
