In this spicy, humorous addition to the Questions for a Highlander series, Angeline Fortin continues the adventures of the MacKintosh clan with the tale of how Harry met Fiona… And broke her heart.
They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned but Fiona MacKintosh was more inclined to believe that after a long, furious journey through hell, no scorned woman was apt to be inclined to love and entrust her heart to a man so easily again. Especially not to the same man!
He’d never known a woman like Fiona...
Harry Brudenall, Marquis of Aylesbury, has devoted so much of his life to finding his long-lost sister that he’s almost forgotten what it feels like to live. Fiery and passionate, Fiona is life. In her, he finds a reason to embrace the present and live for the future. If only she’ll have him.
Fiona is determined to find a man and marriage meant for her convenience and the handsome, charismatic, heartbreaking marquis, Harry Brudenall, is not on her list. But when danger looms unexpectedly, and it is her life rather than her heart that is in peril, she soon realizes that there is only one man she wants to turn to for protection.
One man who will prove his love … and without question, give his life for her.

Found the heroine beyond frustrating. It seemed very obvious that a suitor who will only meet you on the sly and avoids all opportunities to meet the family is up to no good. Why the heroine couldn't see that was not obvious, and made her come off as stupid, even though the text wants us to think she is very intelligent. Her constant and repeated refusals to let the hero explain his actions did not help. And then her family kept vital information from her "to protect her feelings", but only succeeded in endangering her life because of her ignorance. The whole thing was just one head-scratching moment after another.
