First of all, this novel is 462 pages in length, I can't even imagine the amount of time and effort Ms. O'Brien put into "Finding Grace". As a reader and reviewer, I can truly appreciate her effort.
With that being said, I found it difficult to get through this novel. I understand that this is a fictional read. However, like most readers, I want the plot and characters to be somewhat believable. There are so many areas that left me questioning the lack of direction, research, and editing of this novel. Some examples that made no sense:
Grayce Logan comes from a well to do family. It's evident by the clothes she wears, the car she drives, and her residence (and the fact that it's spelled out in the novel). However, she works part-time as a Door Dash delivery driver. Not very realistic.
When Grayce finally locates the scene with Detective Davenport in tow, she's allowed to walk all over the crime scene. Her response, "Don't worry, I didn't step into the blood. I didn't want to damage my Jimmy Choo shoes."
She is making a delivery in the country at night and witnesses a murder in the home she was to deliver food to. The murderers are in the home. She is able to get away. Hmm, no one heard the car approaching, or saw the headlights, or heard her walking up the rickety stairs? How is this even possible?
Grayce's love interest, Detective Jason Davenport is a real piece of work. In the real world, he would have lost his job and been sued for sexual harassment (too many examples to list). I have an issue with his personality, especially in today's society. Yep, let's make him Chief of Police!
Honestly, Ms. O'Brien is a good writer. The novel just needs another perusal to rewrite the items that don't make sense.

Grace Logan is a Door Dash delivery person and, approaching the door of her next delivery, she happens to see a man having his throat slit. She calls 911, but the operator doesn’t believe her and ends the call. Grace finally convinces Detective Jayson Davenport that she saw a man being murdered, and thus begins her unbelievable journey skirting the very dangerous drug cartel who want to make sure she can’t identify any of them. And this is only one story-thread of this lengthy novel. This book is part thriller, part mystery, and part romance. It’s an entertaining tale with an intriguing plot, complete with twists and turns. It tends to be somewhat repetitive, especially with the scenes between Grace and Jayson, without advancing the plot. The ending finally explains and wraps things up neatly, but it is a long and arduous journey to get there. Grace is an interesting character, harboring a secret that will keep readers guessing for nearly all the book. Jayson is not believable as a detective; no credible detective would behave the way he did. His character takes away from the validity of the book as a mystery and plunges it squarely into the sexy romance category. You name the genre, and this book covered it, except maybe for humor. I don’t know how the author missed that one. I enjoyed the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter - they added depth and clarity to the characters. Better editing and eliminating some repetitive parts would improve the pacing of the story. This copy was not an ARC, and I was surprised at the number of typos in it. It was an enjoyable read, but it could have been so much better with some rewriting.

Let's just start with I. Loved. This. Book. Attention captured at page one. One plot hiccup where I went - but wait, how did he find her? Aside from him having some questionable ethics at the beginning, the main characters were very likeable. I loved how I was always wanting to know 'but what happened?' as the author slowly dripped out details of their pasts. Tragedy meets the strength to face it and move forward. I absolutely don't want to give away any of the details of this beautiful struggle to find happiness. Go read it.
