Mayfair University #6

When We Fall: Part Two

Rate this book
Some loves last a lifetime; sometimes, those lifetimes are far too short.

We’re trapped in a world we can’t drugs, money, and violence. This is what my life has turned into since we left Black Falls. Nothing I say or do can change my guys’ minds; they’re in it for the long haul.

When tragedy strikes, we are left crying out for mercy.

Only mercy has a peculiar way of revealing itself.

Sometimes, mercy is betrayal. It’s pain. It’s lies.

And when I agree to this act of mercy, I’m doing it solo.

War doesn’t care about love; it doesn’t care about peace. It only cares about violence.

And when it finds you, you break. You suffer. And… you fall.

When We Fall is the final book in the Mayfair University series that follows Rosalie and the horsemen from Black Falls High. It’s part of a massive dark crossover world. To be continued in their adult series.

Easily the best book in the entire Chaos crossover universe, AND the best book in KG's career. She wasn't lying when she said she would make it hurt, a lot, but there was also some really beautiful surprises! I can't really say much because literally everything is a spoiler but just know;

- you will be so invested that everything else will be pushed to the side
- you will cry harder than ever before
- triggers on triggers . yikes on bikes! take care of your mental health
- Enzo & Cole will piss you off more than they ever have. Be prepared
- Rosie is fucking KICK. ASS. She is done letting everyone else make decisions for her, and is doing what she wants, when she wants
- so many complicated relationships! Read closely!
- there is one character that will genuinely surprise you. they are my favorite, and no, I will not explain. *winks*
- THAT ENDING. holy fucking hell. I am in awe!

Absolutely a must read. I cannot wait for the adult series, but I'm also so curious as to how the last kings book(s?) will tie in all the missing pieces and breadcrumbs together. Bianca is also a queen and I can't wait to see her reign!

if you're looking for a super twisty yet highly emotional and addicting series with every literal trigger possible, one click this entire universe now!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

I had such a hard time rating this book and really had to just sit with it. So here we are hours after I finished and man I wanted to give this 1 star. However the writing was amazing and probably deserved 5 stars. Here is my problem. I HATED THE EPILOGUE!! How do we go from characters that can’t make it for 4 days apart to 4 flipping years no contact??? Just no. You can’t do a complete 180 10 stinking books in. Highly disappointed is a serious understatement. I have never hated an ending as much as this one. I don’t care that there is another series coming, that makes it worse. This will be the end for me. Terrible when the last 5% of a major book series ruined the whole dang series for me. Should go back to book 1 and write a serious warning.

WHAT A WILD RIDE

What a wild ride that was huh?!?! Kg never ceases to amaze me with what her mind can create. The twists and turns you'd never expect, the constant character growth(and finding their footing again), the complexity of her characters! Up until 2 books ago I was anti-Ani for the group but man has he become a top one to see finally say fuck it.
But klaus???? OH HELLO DADDY 😍 I need more of that man.
also, side note, I hope we get another's perspective on what happened with matteo bc that about broke my heart 💔

I’ve been reading this series since the very first high school bully-romance book. I stuck through all the drama, all the sadness, all the character development years worth of emotional buildup. And I have never felt so disappointed or betrayed by an ending. This final book was a complete mess. The entire story was always centered around the five of them. Their bond, their loyalty, their trauma, and their growth is what carried the series. So killing off Fox, the glue of the entire friend group, and he only had SIX pages of his final part, felt like nothing more than shock value. It wasn’t meaningful. It was heartbreaking in the worst way not because it made sense, but because it made the whole series feel pointless. The plot in this book was all over the place. Gun fire, kidnappings, torture, sexual assault written in disturbing graphic detail, Russian backstories thrown in and out of nowhere, random parents dying, Rosalie’s “real mom,” Ethan’s adoption, Fox and Ethan being tortured… it felt like the author just kept adding shocking scenes without thinking them through or giving them emotional resolution. And Rosalie being drugged instead of comforted when learning about foxes murder? No. Absolutely not. Nothing in this book matched the characters we spent TEN books getting to know. Cole would never have let Rosalie disappear without tearing the world apart to find her. Enzo suddenly became passive and careless. And straight up RUDE to Rosalie. Rosalie would NEVER have left with two guys at the end. Ethan’s torture was horrifying and then brushed it aside again. And Fox’s death the heart of the group made no narrative sense at all. And then instead of giving the main characters closure, the author spent the final chapters setting up other books. The Church crossover, Dante suddenly being Rosalie’s brother none of that belonged in this story. It felt like the characters we followed for ten books were pushed aside just so she could advertise the next series. It made the ending feel cheap, lazy, and disconnected. After everything Ethan, Fox, Cole, Enzo, and Rosalie went through, they deserved actual resolution not a marketing strategy. I’m saddened that they didn’t get the happy ending fox wanted

If only this was the END-end of Rosalie's story. She got rid of the crappy boyfriends, kept the good one, and FINALLY added the best one.

But no, there's a whole other series planned, where I'm sure that the OG assholes will worm their way back into her life and she will return to being a doormat.

Since the start of this series, Cole and Enzo have been in competition for who could become the most dispicable, getting worse and worse in each book. It was a close race, but I'd have to give it to Cole. At least Enzo had the self-awareness at the end to acknowlege how bad they were for Rosalie. In this case, I approved a character pushing their love interest away for their own good.

I can't put into words how much I loathe Cole. There has never been a more selfish character. From his vitriol toward Anson -no matter how many times Anson came to the rescue of Rosie or the whole group - to his constant emotional manipulation of Rosie. He hurts her over and over again, and instead of listening to her feelings, he pushes her into sex until she stops having opinions. He never changes for her, he never makes sacrifices for her. When he senses her pulling away, instead of vowing to be better for her, he tries to cage her with a baby. Don't get me started on the times he gets sexually violent with her. It happened on multiple occasions, and we all know what happened in that bathroom. She said No. He refused to hear it. Her welfare could never matter as much to him as getting what he wants.

Ethan was better than the other two. His trauma-response was completely understandable, but even before he was taken, he was dragging Rosie down with his neediness and codependancy. He made her responsible for his happiness, and it made me sick when she turned down her dream because he needed her.

Fox went from being annoying in the first Mayfair book to the BEST of the original four. His storyline is what kept me engaged. His plan was absolutely crazy, but time and time again his "brothers" proved why he felt it was necessary.

Anson has been my love and favorite from the beginning. More than his relationship with Rosie, I loved his relationship with Fox. The love and mutual respect these two developed was so bittersweet with Anson knowing that he would have to lose Fox in order to gain his heart's desire. The differences between him and Cole were so glaring, because Anson would be content to live forever on the outside if only Fox would stay.

Things that did work for me:
- Dominic. Surprise surprise. Who could've guessed that the Alphahole that I could barely tolerate in the other series was the best thing about this last book (aside from Anson). The way he cared for Rosie when she was nearly catatonic with grief was so touching and sweet. The way he lifted her up and made her smile when her boyfriends couldn't be bothered made me love him.
- The Chapel Crest gang - Like Dominic, I can barely tolerate these guys in the Chapel Crest series (except for Asylum/Mirage/Syler/Seth - who I adore). But here I was, kicking and squealing when Church showed up for Rosie outside of the bar. Who would guess that this asshole and his crazy version of tough love would be what finally forced her to prioritize her own ambition over the guys? He's batshit crazy, but maybe just a little bit endearing, as a brother. Outside of all the creepy sniffing and stuff.
- Rosie not letting the dust settle after being betrayed by Enzo, Cole, Ethan. I lived for their jealousy while she was out living her best life.
- Enzo admitting that Fox was right all along and that he should've listened.
- Fox's dad on the rampage? Here for it.
- Potential redemption for Matteo, Allesio, and Klaus? Yes please. I'm not sure about the age gap between Klaus and Rosie, but I did like how she influenced him to do better for his sons.
- Evan Beyer - Fuck yes! I screamed and laughed and possibly shed a tear.

As much as I want the series to end here, with Rosie riding off into the sunset with the right guys, I'll probably pick up the next series. I'm too curious about the two babies and how things will shake out.

This is such a surreal moment. To finally be here at the end of Mayfair.

I've been following these characters since BFH and have been following all the goings-on in Discord for a few years now. So much time spent throwing around theories and ideas, looking for crumbs, debating and discussing these characters and their story with others. To finally be here at this moment, the end of their story in Mayfair, it certainly is emotional and bittersweet. Only bittersweet in that it's "goodbye for now" until their story continues on in the adult series, Shattered Lies.

This book will rip you apart and expose every emotion you could experience - joy, love, happiness, anxiety, anger, sadness, loathing. You will find yourself laughing, crying, shouting in frustration/anger and sometimes ready to throw the book. But this is the magic of K.G.'s writing and storytelling. She is probably one of the only authors who can draw such a depth and wide range of emotions, and sometimes all at once.

Spoilers...

Looking forward to see how their paths join again in the adult series.

I absolutely loved the final Mayfair book. Stayed up all night reading it and I can't wait until February for the adult series to start.

I think K.G. did a phenomenal job interweaving characters and plots from her other book series. That's one of the aspects of her writing I enjoy most. It's so much fun to look for the breadcrumbs she leaves us. Another aspect of her writing I appreciate is how she can make us fall in love with particular characters (which isn't always the same characters for everyone) and become so invested in the outcomes.

I'm SO happy with the ending, as far as who the two guys Rosie ends up with were I was Team Anson since he was first introduced. I loved his care and devotion and how he always put her first. When the other guys were screwing up he was always there to catch her.

I feel of all her guys, Fox was the Love of her Life. I think her feelings for him run just a shade deeper. They were childhood sweethearts and each other's everything. I was so mad at Enzo when he tried to marry her first and so happy with how this book ended with their wedding on the mountain.

An unexpected fantastic surprise was Klaus. Wow. I didn't see that coming K.G.! Bravo. I LOVED his relationship with Rosie and I really hope you keep him in the mix. I like him so much. They entered each others lives at a time when they needed each other. Rosie brought joy, happiness and a spark to his life and put him on the road to reconciliation with his sons. Klaus centered her and got her feeling happy again. Made her smile and look forward instead of back so much. I think him being older with so much life experience and the long talks they had were just what she needed to help partially mend her broken heart.

I was really interested in the chapters when she spends time with Dante. I look forward to reading that time period in the next Boys of Chapel Crest book.

My only criticism is with just how far Dante and Sylar went in their encounters with Fox in the underground. Dante said he helped Fox and spared him but after reading the extensive and permanent injuries Fox sustained it didn't feel like they spared him much to me. I mean it was brutal what was done to him. Couldn't they at least have skipped the eye thing???

I feel bad for Cole and Ethan. Not so much Enzo. I think he was the root of a lot of the trials they went through. How many times did Fox, and Rosie beg him to leave so they could be together and safe. His ego and devotion to his Father trumped what was best for the Horsemen and Rosie. So, yes I feel bad for Cole and E but I struggle more with how I feel about Enzo. No character is all black or white and I hope in the next series I can forgive the character and feel good about a reconciliation. I'm not there at this point though.

A job well done K.G.!!!! You're a talented writer and I thank you for sharing your Chaos Universe with us.

Welcome to my unhinged stream of consciousness reviews.
Hilarious dialogue in the setting of so dark a story kept my LOL-ing the whole time. The characters are all very distinct with their own voices. A little dragged out in some parts but finally in this last book things actually happened. The last 2 books were inconsequential. There are so many white people that's its just suss at this point. Every single character is the same color as the damn pages the book is printed on. Chill with that POC exist. Statistically with this many characters multiple are bound to be. They never even encounter anyone who isn't white anywhere.
Takeaways:
1. Cole is not lonely enough. Seriously this guy SUCKS and suffers the least. Low point of the series.
2. Anson went from my favorite character bar none to right above Cole at the bottom. I didn't think it was possible. Always whining and choosing everyone and everything over Rosalie for no reason. He didn't deserve her in the end. At least that's my opinion.
3. Enzo still keeps convincing people to trust him and he sucks and never makes good plans. He also doesn't suffer enough imo. Self imposed attempted martyr misery isn't penance.
4. Rosalie- get it girl. She was too stupid to leave on her own but she was living it up and I was about it. Still, the author gave her no time to find herself or her identity outside of a man. Which was sad.
5. Curveball- some dude named Klaus. I've read chapel crest but not the other ones so I don't know much about Bianca or the kings. But KLAUS? Yes daddy. I'm thankful for that character.
6. Same plot devices recycled. I don't suppose the author is really trying to surprise us with too much. Old burnt body switcheroo and Cole being Cole again and messing everything up. Can't we give Rosalie even a LITTLE time to grow up. They're all just out of childhood. Still teenagers! What's the damn rush? Either that or she should've just aged up the characters.
7. Dante Church? Loved his part in this story and I loved how he interacted with Rosalie. Overall as a character I don't care for him but in this story he was FIRE.
8. Would've given it 4 stars but I've never seen anyone more obsessed with babies. They're everywhere and if Klaus/church/ Rosalie's small independent streak wasn't in the story I would've given it 2 stars. Let these children live a little and be together for crying out loud. I just am not a fan in any way shape or form of pregnancy tropes, especially when everyone is this young. I suppose they all have to have babies at the same time so the sequels can happen when they grow up and probably start banging each other would be my guess.

Trusting the process

This HFN (happy for now) ending was bittersweet for me. I have been along for the ride for this series for years now and reaching this point has me both happy and sad. Now that we have gotten to the end of this part, I will say this. Listen when she says it will hurt. Be mindful of TW. It will have you wanting to throw your reading device across the room one minute, crying the next, and laughing hysterically after that. That being said, here is my likes and dislikes now that we've reached the end (these will be very vague, so as not to include spoilers).

Likes
- The humor. This is my top favorite thing in all of the interconnected worlds is their interactions with each other and how they can make me laugh, even when you are questioning how you can have humor in such grave situations. Top notch
- A couple of the character's developments. There are 2 characters in particular that floored me with their growth. Something I was not expecting at all, and was so happy to have read
- The interconnected world characters making appearances. I really loved reading about some of my other favorite characters in this interconnected world showing up and reading what they've been up to and a hint of what is to come in their future books. Really has me looking forward to them
- The amount of options left open at the end. The ending was written in such a way to leave so many possibilities open and I am so excited to see how it all plays out

Dislikes
- The ending felt a little rushed and there were slots of time that I feel left some dynamics unexplored that I don't think will be covered in the other books since it only had to do with this world. We delved deep in so many situations and scenarios throughout this series, but if it continued that way, I think there would've been way more than these last 2 books, so that may have been by design to go into more in the adult series
- It felt like some characters didn't grow/digressed in this series and it gave a little bit of a BFH repeat but intensified in a few situations. I was hoping for more character growth in these aspects, but again, there's still the adult series to go and I think some of them is just who they are and will always be

Overall, there is not a story out there that can please everyone and make everyone happy with every scenario, but I have enjoyed this series and will continue on with it until the end no matter the outcome as well as recommend it to fellow dark romance readers.

There is a reason author K.G. Reuss is known as Queen of Cliffy, Suspense, Heartbreak, Torture and Pain.
And her latest release When We Fall Part Two, which is the final chapter in Mayfair University series had her proving so yet again why she still holds the title.

Get ready for a torrential outpour of emotions, because non-stop When We Fall Part Two had you in all the different feels with every page turn in this crazy, heavy emotionally charged ride.
The impact from nearly every moment hit hard and deep, resulting in a fair amount or tears, from the heartache, pain and anguish.
So be sure to have a box or two of tissues nearby.

Going up and down, from the highs and lows, the journey for Rosalie and her Horsemen Fox, Ethan, Enzo and Cole was quite an intense, whirlwind rollercoaster ride.
Non-stop go, go, go, pushing and pulling with the back and forth.
It was mayhem, chaotic, yet richly fulfilling from the story presented. But that was to be expected since this is the end to Mayfair University series.
However that didn’t stop author K.G. from delivering a somewhat complex narrative that although had more questions arising, thankfully there were answers to come through as the story progressed. Filling in the missing gaps to both old and new questions.

It wouldn’t be the Chaos Universe if there wasn’t appearances of multiple characters coming from Boys of Chapel Crest, Kings of Bolten Academy and Dare duet series from across the universe.
In the form of secondary characters they added even more to this already twisted story. Then again it was to be expected, due to the links and connections that has some of their stories interconnecting and intertwining with the characters of Mayfair University. Also because of the relevations that came to light, some from them, the secondary characters and others that included them because of their links to either Rosie, Fox, Enzo, Ethan or Cole.
Truly fitting for the Chaos Universe, since the secondary characters bought the chaotic-ness too.

In the end, they all lived HFN aka Happily For Now.
At least that is until the release of Rosie and the Horsemen adult series, which will finally deliver the ultimate HEA that we have all been longing for and the Horsemen aka Ethan, Fox, Enzo, Cole and Rosie deserve.

Well, this is the end of the Mayfair series, and wow... what an emotional and unhinged ride it's been. This book was absolutely crazy, and some things I saw coming while others blew my mind. I laughed, smiled, was enraged, hurt, and everything in between.

This book picks up right where Part One left off, and we see the outcome of that situation. It's very fast-paced, and it seems like with every chapter it goes faster and faster. Things just escalated so quickly and never seemed to stop. Please read the warnings and make the right decision for yourself because KG didn't hold back and these characters go through absolute hell in this book. My heart hurt so much for so many of them.

The twists and turns were phenomenal! We get more info on a lot of characters as well. I loved how we got to see so many other characters in this book from the other Chaosverse books. KG really is a genius at how she interconnects all these stories! It all flows so seamlessly from the family connections to storylines to who works for whom. I don't know how she keeps it all straight!

The ending is meant as a happy-for-now ending with their actual happily ever after coming in the adult series that is next. I was actually pretty conflicted on what rating to give this book because while I enjoyed some things, I hated others. I don't like the ending my favorite characters got with this book. The characters I hate/dislike got happier endings. While I did thaw a little more towards some characters, it didn't change my mind on how I wanted things to go but that's life I guess. I struggled with the Mayfair series... I actually had wished that Rosie's story ended with Black Falls High. I didn't like that Rosie had been emotionally cheating on the horsemen this entire series and I grew to dislike her quite a bit. I think that's mostly why I didn't particularly enjoy this ending, but I will say that I liked seeing Rosalie get a little stronger. I'm glad this series is over, and I really hope Rosalie and her horsemen get their happy ending with all of them together and happy and thriving in the adult series.

Oh. My. God. When is this insane universe going to END????
Note to future me: Never, ever start an unfinished series again.
Now that that’s off my chest…
Because this is such a long series—intertwined with other long series—it became exhausting after book two. It felt like the same loop every time:
“We’re going to lose Rosalie.”
“We can’t lose Rosalie.”
“We must protect Rosalie.”
Over and over. Book after book. And nothing ever actually happened. So yes, I got bored.
BUT this last one?
This one was exciting again.
Things finally happened.
I cared about the characters again. A lot.
Rosy finally grew a backbone—girl, I’m proud of you!
I’m impressed that the author never loses rhythm, and I didn’t catch inconsistencies (though to be fair, I skipped chunks of previous books, but still—everything lined up for me). This was a great closing point to transition into whatever comes next… which had better be soon.
Also, let me just say: Daddy Klaus… Well, hello there... (sigh)
That twist? Didn’t see it coming AT ALL, and I loved it so much he’s now competing with Cole for the honorable position of my favorite.
Anson… I remain unconvinced.
Where is the passion my boy?
So many books and what, like two scenes?
Kudos for the self-control, but honestly it didn’t even seem that hard for you. Still meh
And Enzo… oh Enzo… what a disappointment.
I started these interconnected series without realizing they weren’t finished, and this experience has permanently reshaped the way I choose what to read.
Yet here I am, still trapped, because Reuss refuses to let me go.
I thought this would finally wrap up the universe so I could move on, but nope I’m stuck in reader limbo again.
Characters separated, threads everywhere, thousands of pages later… and of course:
TO BE CONTINUED.
AGAIN.
I officially need therapy.

We have made it through this part of Rosalie and the horsemen's journey. It was a wild and bumpy ride. This book brought out every emotion. Hurt,
betrayal, anger, even some joy and a few laughs. I won't lie, you need to be strong to read this. Know your triggers. I can't stress this enough. There will be a midbook warning. If you are tough enough to read it, prepare for absolute heartbreak. As most of us hardcore KG Reuss fans always knew, this ends on a HFN/bittersweet ending. The UG scenes with Fox and E are very tough. You will be devestated. I will repeat KG Reuss/Sylar. Trust the process. The cossovers are fantastic. I think I love Dom and the Kings even more. I loved all the scenes with Rosalie and the watchers.I have a new favorite pair of siblings with Dante and Rosalie. Sylars rant is 😂. We are introduced to Evan. Lets just say I am overjoyed. As a hardcore Anson fan, I am so happy for him. Klaus is 🥵. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about his relationship with Rosalie, but naturally KG knows how to make us love a character. And hate them. Everett needs to suffer. If you hated him before, this will make you hate him more. Celeste. I don't think I've hated a female character more, but she finally gets everything she deserves. As much as I hated the actions od Enzo and Cole, I understand them. Especially Enzo. I feel for him. He didnt get the chance to grieve his own parents, since he had to take care of everything else as he was grieving. His revenge was very perfect.I am a member of her discord and I feel lucky to have been there for all the spoilers and teasers since MWR. She always said "trust the process" She meant it. I can't wait to continue on this journey with these characters.

hard read

check trigger warnings so this author doesn't like me because of my opinions if you like p/a on the same character over and over then this is the book for you, my heart broke for this character I hope he get a happy ending he deserves it. I can't stand a certain character and I hate that he is now with the fmc, if he was chocolate he would eat himself I don't know why he was written in to the books I don't see what he brings to the books. I loved the crossovers in this book i loved sylar he grew on me with his riddles and ice creams, I loved that the watchers came out to play. dante and Rosalie loved them together, I wish Rosalie went off on her own for a bit instead of falling into a father figure arms the author keeps saying trust the process I've been trusting the process from book 1 but after this book i can't see how we will ever get a happy ending I know things don't stay the same forever but she has split them Rosalie is with chocolate and evan and cole E and Enzo on their own. This author will have this taken down but this is my opinion I feel this book was rushed im heartbroken who Rosalie has ended up with but as she told me This is her book and trust the process. The character chocolate has done nothing I just don't trust him I feel that if he had to choose between his father and brother over Rosalie he would i can see he loves her and would do anything for her but I still don't trust him but chocolate is here to say maybe in the adult book he will grow on me like sylar has grown on me. I can't wait for this world to be over so we can read the next gen

It really has been hard to find the right words for this final book in Mayfair. If you have been following KG and these books you know that this is not the final book for these characters, as there is an adult series coming. My first thought is to "trust the process". Side note: I LOVE that this was brought up numerous times in the books because out Chaos Queen has been yelling this at us since May we Rise. my favorite part about this is she had the character that she says is most like her doing to the one telling us the readers and the characters this. (If you now you know).

All that aside, this book was HARD to read. Not because it is not well written, not because it jumped the shark. It was a hard and difficult read because bad shit happens to characters we have loved and grown to love since In Ruins. Bad shit happens, people die, get hurt violently, do things you are screaming at them not to do, yet it still happens. It was hard because it made it difficult to "trust the process" because you wanted the HEA. I felt like we got the HEA, just a part 1 version and part 2 will be in the adult series.

Some of what Rosie did surprised me and I am still in shock it happened but if I take a real good look, something like that had to happen for her to grow as an FMC. She has had trauma, yet she goes back to her Horsemen and let them handle it. Same with Ethan, that does not produce growth, just dependence and not change at all. I will say a small part of the ending felt a bit rushed to me (can't say what since I'm trying not to spoil anything) but she got to the mountain top and that is what mattered.

I legit am frothing to see the turmoil and love that will come out in the adult series. I cannot wait for Bolten to finish since there were some mentions in this book and Chapel Crest.

“And guess what? I’m in charge. This entitled I want answers now sh*t needs to stop. We don’t always get what we want. F*cking take it to a public forum and cry about it. It’s like reading a book. If it’s not working out for you, then maybe you aren’t cut out for that book. So read another one, or just f*cking trust the process. That’s just life. If one thing doesn’t work, you learn from it. It’s that easy. You figure sh*t out, let fate work, or walk away.” He breathed out. “You’ve come this far in the story. Stop b*tching and trust the process.” He tugged at his black hair, looking positively insane. (Copyright goes to kg)

When KG Reuss says to trust the process, she means it! Doesn’t mean it won’t hurt like h*ll. I read a lot. Like 250 books a year. I devour them. Some books make me think, others make me kinda feel. Then there are Kg’s books. Some authors just know how to weave feelings in, to make you cry, laugh, clench the bedsheets, bite your nails to nothing, scream, hold your breath, feel.

This is an interconnected series. Each book follows a timeline thats interwoven together. Each book has characters from other stories making appearance’s. You definitely need to read them in order.

This book had me crying ugly tears, stopping to read another book during some tough parts, and laughing while ugly crying.

Sometimes freedom looks a whole lot like finding yourself on the mountaintop!

There are no perfect words I could use to express how amazing and wonderful this book truly is! It's so surreal to me that we've reached the end of Mayfair, but it could not have ended more perfectly. KG, every time I think I couldn't be more blown away by one of your books, you prove me wrong! Every. Single. Time!

There were parts that utterly destroyed me, the Underground scenes up to Rosie leaving, and I mean, I was a sobbing mess, but then you give us THAT ending, and my heart feels so full again. And, let me tell you, I utterly adored the moments with Dante and Rosie, as well as with the rest of the CC crew. Asylum and his antics never cease to make me cackle out loud. You knocked it outta the freaking park!!

"How's my girl?"

That one line changed the axis of my world! It's insane how loud I squealed at that part. Between Evan and Ani, my sweet, sweet Ani, this girl is riding a cloud 9 high!! Can't say I wasn't thrilled with how things went down with Celeste and her dad, either. Loved it!

The ending was EVE.RY.THING!! You said trust the process, I have, and I've yet to be disappointed in doing so. I'm so ready for the adult series and for Rosie and her guys to get their HEA. Until then, continuing to trust you and the process. Again, KG, you have blown me away with your phenomenal writing skills. This book was everything I needed and more!

I'm not even sure where to start, because I honestly can't believe this is the end of Mayfair. But what an ending it is - almost 800 pages of exactly what needed to happen. Did I get an answer to every single question I had? Of course not & I doubt we ever will, and that's okay. KG has created such a detailed universe with all of her series that there's always going to be more questions, more stories that could be written, more characters that could (and will eventually) be introduced.

I don't want to get too much into the plot points, because honestly there's just too much that happens. But also because you just really need to go into it blind and feel it as it happens. There are character deaths, new characters, new relationships, new enemies & new allies, new babies... It's going to hurt - I cried, a LOT. Trust the process... it will work out how it should by the end. Is it a happily ever after? No, it's not. But it IS a happily for now. We still have the adult series (Horsemen of Ruin) to come, and they'll get their HEA at the end of that.

It's a lot. There were parts that really hurt to read, and then parts where you see Rosie grow so much that you can't help but smile and know that it's all worth it. It's been a long road to get to the end of Mayfair, but I can't wait to see what's in store next for everyone.

“All great empires fall so new ones can arise,”

This book is going to hurt. We all know it. I was crying, then crying, then crying some more… deep breaths…

Fox
“Rosalie needed to be safe, and she wouldn’t get that here. Not now, at least. Maybe not ever.”
Fox is perfection and I just love him so much!

Anson
“I can’t do this anymore. It’s breaking my heart. I want to be in love. I want to be happy. I deserve that.”

Enzo
“I didn’t like her and the guys to know how terrified I was. I had to be the strong one. The tough one. They all looked to me for direction. This kingdom was for them. It was proof of my love. I had to fight for us, even if it was ugly.”
I know a lot of people judge his choices but he sacrificed everything for his friends.

Ethan
“I could feel myself breaking apart inside. Cracking. Crumbling. Each piece that fell away shattered as it hit the floor.”
If there were anyone I could protect it is Ethan.

Cole is difficult but he is also loyal to his core. I want to give him all the cake and all the babies.

In the words of the all knowing Sylar:
“The coming days are going to hurt, but I promise, they’re leading you somewhere great.”

My soul… well, it was shattered. But I can’t leave this world and these character’s. I’m in it till the end 🫶🏼

Don't doubt the process!!

Grab your tissues and be prepared to ugly cry, laugh, and scream all through this book! There's sooo much here! KG has been leaving bread crumbs everywhere.... In EVERY BOOK! There's no reason to doubt she'd give you what you're hoping for. Just maybe its in a way you didn't realize you needed! Just the fact you get all the Chaos boys in the same vicinity! Even the OGs!
Be prepared for the UG! It's harsh, ugly, and Everett is sick and twisted. I really hope The Boys of Chapel Crest have HUGE plans for him!
You'll see more than a few characters struggle and cope different while making hard decisions some with better intentions than others; new outlook on an OG 😉, some step up you weren't expecting while others disappoint; maybe someone new makes an entrance and it wouldn't be Mayfair if there wasn't some trouble lying in the shadows!!
If you've been following the crumbs and trusting the process, then you know this ends on a cliff hanger! I can't WAIT for the adult series and the Sons!!! I'm here for the Chaos!!!

When an author can transport you into the world they've built, to a point where you're physically feeling the roller coaster of emotions the characters experience, it's READER PERFECTION!
KG Reuss has continued the saga of the four horsemen we met in the Black Falls High series, as they navigate the college years. They've been put truth the paces. This final installment, the culmination of the horrors life has handed them, leads readers through the very dark and incredibly difficult world they're immersed in.
*Please pay attention to the authors carefully listed trigger warnings ⚠️ these are no joke! You will experience them ALL, and it will evoke so many emotions.
Rosalie and her horsemen are taken through the very worst-case events they'd always feared, and it pulls the very fabric of their closely woven circle apart. As the author has always cautioned us... trust the process. A HEA will happen, eventually. Just.Not.Here....
I laughed, cried, threw my kindle, and was absolutely booksmacked! Brilliant. Loved it, even though it hurt, and I'll absolutely read it again!

Utter perfection, what a roller-coaster! I cannot tell you how happy this installment made me (yeah, im weird)! Holy tamole what a wild ride. The action, the angst, the betrayal, the absolute heartbreak and I was riveted for every moment!!! Contrary to popular opinion, I LOATH Cole and Enzo, like I wish they were the ones who experienced the trauma that occurred.... Enzo is the stereotypical narcissistic twat waffle and Cole is an abusive, controlling meathead and both deserve to be yeeted off the talest mountain into a quarry of sharp, pointy rocks... but thats just my opinion.
There's hope for Ethan yet, he has something to live for now and even more reason to get better. Rosalie is finally developing a backbone, it's about fricken time, she's been such an obnoxious door mat this whole time. Granted, she's been the victim of abusive relationships, so I can't be too harsh on her. I can't wait to see what the upcoming years have in store for this bunch of misfits.
p.s. Sylar is certainly THE BEST character in this entire universe 🖤

I do not understand the point of introducing the character Anson and building up him and Rosalie's romance only for it turn out this way. I'm getting more and more peeved as I continue reading. I want to stop reading these but my curious brain will not let me. All the books keep repeating is Cole and Enzo would never. Why not? They're grown men and it's really 3 vs 2 who want him in the group. At this point I say get rid of Cole and Enzo and that's saying alot since Cole was actually one of my favorite characters up until his obstinance with Anson. I think the universe has too much going on, this book has introduced yet another polycule who will probably have their own set of books. I like these series but too much is happening and every character doesn't have to be connected. Why is Rosalie Dantes sister now, like..... too much but I will keep reading i am just very angry about the Anson storyline.

The end of this series is just devastatingly delicious

KG is one of my favorite writers she doesn't hid the ugly truths she places them in your face so you can see the reality of them. This book is the culmination of all the ugly truths for these characters. It's the price they had to pay the piper to get what they thought they wanted. Its the consequences of their poor decisions and the weight of the power some of them craved. I loved the wild roller coaster that they all had to ride to get to the end of this part of their lives. The fact that they all had to suffer to come out in the end. This book took you through several devastating incidents that shaped our characters into something else. They needed to suffer through the pain to become something different. Yet at the end when some finally got what they were fighting for was the cost really worthy it? They learn maybe the price was too high. While others made huge sacrifices believing they would never get what they truly desired to finally arrive at the end with exactly what they wanted just in a different way. This book was wonderful it frustrated me, angered me, and made me cry, but a book isn't worth reading if it doesn't pull at you emotions. Very much worth the read.

When K.G. Reuss said this book was going to hurt she was not playing. This book really had me crying, angry and heartbroken with some happy moments and alot of WTF's. Rosalie's heart is put through the ringer while figuringlife out without the guys. The guys are doing everything they can to protect her even while hurting her. Seriously, throughout this story no matter what emotions you feel, you must trust the process.

The story was beautifully written with so many breadcrumbs for the Kings and the Watcher's. The truth bombs revealed were literally jaw dropping! While this book concludes this series, the way it ended was perfectly done to get us ready for their adult series.

Sorta spoilers... but not really...

Let me be totally honest. These books are emotional. And reading them all at once. Is even harder emotionally... with that being said...

I binged the HS years. Literally in 2 days. I was scared to read the college years because well. emotions. So I skipped the first few and went straight for this one. Cause I need to know these characters are ok. But I couldn't handle the mental stress of them hurting. AND DANG IT. It still happened. I skipped a lot of these chapters, cause I read some of the spoils. And I am glad I did. I don't know if I could have read these with the triggers I do have (which aren't many anymore... but again. emotions)

I know that they got a HFN ending... but dang it... I want more of these characters. I am scared to read the future books or "adult years" but man... I can't wait to read them when they come. And I am hoping and praying... well... if you know.. you know... lol I want a HEA.

Heartbreak and Happiness

We’re told to trust the process. I believe in the process. Does it hurt now with how it ended? Yes it does but I’m ready to see some major groveling on three of the horsemen’s part. We get a glimpse into The Watchers and The Kings ending and I’m ready for those storylines! I’m sad at some things but I know that KG is still building this world and has the next generation and a completion of the Mayfair universe. Rosalie and her guys go through the wringer and I’m sad at how they handled things but I can see why it had to be that way. Rosie tries her best as do the guys but this had to happen for things to get better. I will patiently wait for the next parts of this universe to come out and know that I’ll never get enough of these characters. KG built a world I want to visit many times over and I’m here for the pain and happiness of it all!!!

What a ride, riot, gut wrenching masterpiece

KG has done it again!!! I still remember reading Black Falls High and falling in love with not just the story, but KG herself. She doesn't write books that are all roses and butterflies. She brings in the pain, heartbreak, and betrayal. She tells stories that resemble life for so many. I applaud her so much for this. This book and series has had me from the start. The way it's brain works.....true creativity. This book was heartbreaking, soul crushing, and a whisper of having faith that all will workout but not without blood, sweat, and tears. Read the book, don't wait! You will get mad, you will cry, but as KG and Solar say, trust the damn process!!!

I refused to put this book down. I needed to know how it would finish. I spent a good chunk of this book in tears. It was such a powerful book. Right off the bat you start with heartbreak. Rosie has so much happening to her, but it’s all falling apart. She has to do what’s best for her and that’s what Fox has always wanted for her. She comes out, meets new people and grows. I loved seeing her develop into this new person. Ugh and some daddy vibes are definitely there. I seriously cannot wait for the rest of the other series to finish and see their adult series come out. It was very much a bittersweet HFN. Thank you for weaving this amazing world together.

Perfect end to this chapter

This book was the perfect ending for the college part of their story. The emotion that KG was able to draw with that your events was phenomenal. My heart broke, and that was pieced back together. I love the turn that Rosie‘s life took. I think that Rosie was made as an easy self character and that was so evident in this book. The crossover between the others series was perfect. I love the world that she has created and then it’s not so one dimensional. without spoiling… The ending was literally perfection. It is something that I wanted forever in the series and I wasn’t sure how it could be done, but it was better than I could have imagined.
