A sexy romance with a itsy bitsy hybrid heroine, a drool worthy tiger shifter hero, tiger shifters baddies causing furry mayhem & a meddling Fairy Grandma!
Nila De Luca was raised by her loving dad, Leo, & wise Grandma Rossa, after her mom died. She always felt a special kinship with animals, so she became a vet & against her family's wishes, she became a big cat specialist & now is world renowned & travels the world. Nila just arrives at JFK from India, just wants to get home to her dad & Grandma's home & sleep for a week, but the tall dude with the gun has a different plan. She is completely freaking out on the inside & stalls for time, but when they go outside this kooky cabbie is all over them trying to get their fare, winks at her, pushes the evil baddie & they both run for their lives. She damned if she does or if she doesn't, but her instincts tell her to trust this yummy cabbie!
Mitch Chernikov is a tiger shifter with powerful & PITA Grandma Elizaveta, who is a Tiger Shifters Elder, but he & his older brothers carry the TAINT from their father, who went TIGER KOOKY after his wife suicide & he battled for many years with his shifters depression with volunteer confinements & therapy, but his son will always carry that DEFECTIVE shame. Mitch is tasked by his Grandma to protect Nila with his life because she is the only tiger/human hybrid & the hopeful answer to the Tiger Shifters lack of female mates. So Mitch finds himself face to face with a unknown tiger outside JFK, but he uses his brain & not brawn & he & the heavenly scented Nila begin their run for their lives!
When they finally get to his truck, she is handing the other tiger's gun, which freaks her out, but she excepts the trust this mystery man has giving her & told to get down as they drive out of the baddie's range, but Nila wants answers. Mitch tells her that she needs to see if her dad & Grandma called her cell, she listens to their vmail about Mitch picking her up at the airport, listening to him, her dad will call later to explain & her wise granny sent a pic of Mitch, so she knew she was safe for now. When Mitch starts to explain about her "not dead until a few weeks ago" mom was a tiger shifter & killed by her mate who is the main baddie after her hide, Dubrovsky Petov. He & his goons are for a PURE tiger nation & she will dilute their bloodline. Now the whole tiger shifter nation is dying out do to lack of females & the Mating Run (when a pack of males chase down a fertile female & she just lets the male she wants to catch her) is the only way tigers don't kill one another over a female. But the worse news is how she is not suppose to exist because only a old legend speaks of a human/tiger couple who had many kids, some just human & others, like her, hybrids.
Nila head is spinning with all this tiger shifter world, the screwed up politics, her being a pawn, the Mating Run, her dad & granny are also in danger & how she will be on the run, but she is glad she has the SEXY Mitch in her corner. Mitch is dying because he thinks he isn't worthy for her, but her cinnamon vanilla essence his making him hard 24/7. Soo nthey are on the run with tigers on their tale, tigers are pooping their bones & dissolving into NEKKID men, her half brother Vlad is always giving them a heads up against his deranged dad, Mitch's BF Max & his prego (having a girl baby) wife get to kick some tiger a$$ (never piss off a pregnant woman), Nila totally crawls on his half NEKKID body & kisses him until his toes curl, then Mitch slammed in her bedroom door & HELLO sexual satisfaction galore, more running, Nila begins to use a shotgun & takes down more than 1 baddie, Nila goes into heat & her smell begins to cause a huge ruckus, a kooky all male cult give sanctuary or do they, Mitch has to fight to the death for Nila, fur begins to fly, his older sister & hubby enforcers help save his furry a$$ & his Fairy Grandma is sprinkling her meddling pixie dust, but will Nila ever be truly safe? Can Mitch get his head out of his bootie & see that he is worthy of Nila's love? Will Nila be able to crack his stubborn heart & crawl inside forever? If Nila makes it to the Elders, will she be able to set her own rules? Or will she always be their pawn? Does baddie Dubrovsky get shipped to HADES where is belongs? How much pixie dust does Fairy Grandma Elizaveta use?
This is book #3 of Simons' Tiger Shifters series & each books as been so different with their unique takes on the female feeling about the Mating Run, but FIGHT FOR TRUE LOVE is at the core of each romance. The 3 Chernikov boy's story in the background since book #1 & their 24/7, 365 fighting for survival & having a powerful Elder for a Grandma just made them bigger targets! Mitch was the baby, but he never stopped righting wrongs or helping the underdog, but always felt less worthy to have a wife & kids. I personal don't think he realized how many friends that were his chosen family until he needed them the most. Nila was a normal girl until the tiger shifters entered & destroyed her safe world. She only got great eyesight, hearing & some extra strength from her tiger genes, but she has a heart of a warrior, knew her limits & that save her skin more than once. Simons creates such deeply flawed h/h & slowly pulls their painful layers back & makes them go thru self discovery & that my peeps makes a great romance! Now there was awesome shifter actions with fur flying, claws unleashed, good guys a$$ kicking baddies, a strong prego tiger shifter doing some a$$ kicking & even a itsy bitsy hybrid shooting up the forest to protect her man. Now all romances need that snap, crackle & KABOOM & Simons started Nila & Mitch's steamy chemistry from the start with their senses soaking up the other yummy smell & it just got HOTTER! I love how Simons had the itsy bitsy hybrid Nila make the 1st move as she crawls on his half NEKKID body, begin kissing him until his big tough tiger shifter's toes curled & the endless supply of sheets that his claws ripped to shreds as their chemistry went NUCLEAR & can you say, "PULL THE FIRE ALARM NAUGHTINESS!" My pleasure center lite & warmed up my small town in South Dakota during this romance & I saved some heating bucks! Simons also had some old friends from books #1 & #2 help Mitch & Nila, but she introduced some new tiger blood with Max & his tough & take charge pregnant wife Irina, who shows everyone that a pregnant woman doesn't need to be coddled, but set loose on some troublemaking baddies. My only 2 disappointment from this book was no yummy sexually PURRING & I didn't get to be up close & personal with Grandma Elizaveta, who is such a meddling Fairy Godma throughout this series & I wanted to read how Nila put her into her place, but since book #4 has Mitch older brother, Nick, & in it I pray that Simons pulls back the curtain & reveals this meddling, but loveable granny to me! Now Simons toally earns my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes (curling) for this shifter action packed adrenaline rollercoaster ride filled with FIRE EXTINGUISHERS REQUIRED YUMMINESS, flawed characters & FIGHT FOR TRUE LOVE romance & I can't wait to read her next installment to this sexy series!

ooh... interesting plot. and engaging story (so far).
one small quibble though. if tiger kiddies take after same sex parent (mikhail's inner reasoning about who nila takes after), then why is nila's half brother a bengal tiger and not a siberian :/.mom: indian sounding name, dad: russian sounding name, son: russian sounding name, but bengal tiger. or does that only apply to looks in human form?
(read till about halfway, then skimmed to the end. good story nonetheless. )
