Laced and Ready to Run

There are some plot holes and discrepancies, but that doesn't stop this from grabbing my attention and holding on with both hands. I truly had a hard time putting it down to take care of life matters.

Even when Clara Barnes drives me batty, I still can't put it down. Of course, it's possible that Jace Wilder, Carter Lockwood, and Damon Cross have something to do with that. Maybe. Perhaps. 😘

Intimacy was nearly weaponized a couple of times or those moments didn't naturally fit, but each scene was incredibly hot. Desks are cleared, doors used for leverage, and more. I will admit to phantom pains from the DVP, though. 🍆🍆🌮 Yeah, that one gets me every time.

There's also plenty of dark matter to contend with from kidnapping to bribery to murder. The suspense is there (another thing that kept me reading like it did) and gets a little woo-woo at one point, but it makes for interesting drama.

This is the first book in a long while from Kai that I've picked up. I look forward to the next time.

There are secrets upon secrets in this book, along with some juicy surprises. Nothing good has ever come (in books) when the FMC keeps so many secrets. This story was involved and gripping and with a lot of action, as well. I liked this story. At times, it was frustrating, however, when bad decisions are being made. Parts were heartwarming, somewhat angsty and emotional. My overall impression was that this was a good read. I kept turning the pages to find out what happens next. I would definitely recommend this novel.

Life can be super hectic. Having to make hard decisions under duress doesn't help. This story covers it all from murder and kidnapping to children and hope. Add in a lot of hot love scenes and this is a love story to wish for.

Clara has no choice but to go back home; she needs to get access to her trust fund to help with her son Matty's life-saving surgery. She's not been back since her brother died, but she needs to stay under the radar for two reasons.

Carter, Damon, and Jace were Stephen's best friends, and they were attracted to Clara. Carter, in particular, since he just started a relationship with her before she left suddenly. When they find out she is back, they soon find themselves at her door. This time, she is not getting away from them.

Clara knows that she is treading a fine line, getting involved with all three men. They may want her to stay, but she can't; her life depends on it. She can't take the chance of them finding out why she suddenly left, as well as finding out about Matty.

The four soon deal with all the fallout the relationship brings to the table. Damon's ex is back on the scene, wanting access to their daughter, Shiloh. Carter is concerned about his sister and the downward spiral she is on. He wants nothing to do with his father's company because he knows that Bill Lockwood's true colours are hidden behind payouts, back-room dealings, and shadier connections. What they don't know is that Clara is back in the crosshairs of this man, and he will make sure he comes away with what he wants.

Will Clara ever be free of the pain, guilt, and terror that have surrounded her since her brother's death? Will she ever get justice for him? And will she ever get her happily ever after with the three men who have loved her for a long time?.

A powerful story of secrets and suspense that captures your interest from the very beginning, and it was so well written that you zum through reading it not realizing you was at the end. Clara returned to her hometown in hopes of sneaking in and out before anyone knew she was back. That went by the way side when her brother's attorney was out of town on an extended holiday giving her brother's three bestfriends time to learn she was back. They had questions, and they were not leaving her alone, until they had answered if then. Carter, Jace, and Damon were not only all in love with her. They were all alpha males swearing that they would protect her. They might have had better luck protecting her if she would have been honest with them, but she absolutely refused to tell all of them the truth of what happened the night her brother died. They were unable to protect her from the unknown. They were all three fabulous characters, but Clara was somewhat of an airhead living day to day. I really would have liked to know what happened to Margot's husband. The supporting individuals added the much needed interest and depth to the story. I highly recommend this book.

What an absolutely amazing story. I was captivated from the very first page right up to the last. When Clara comes back to her home town of Blackthorn Falls where she lost her brother and had to run from the love of her life and two other men who she cared for as well. Now she and her son Matthew are back in town so she can collect her trust fund that was left for her from her brother to pay for her son’s heart surgery. While she is in town, she meets up with her baby daddy Carter and he’s too friends, Damon and Jace. When they learn the truth behind Clara‘s disappearance, they are there to protect her, but it all comes crashing down when Clara and her son Matty is taken. Now the men need to work hard to get her back. It all ends with a HEA rescue mission from the FBI and all the other government agencies.

Well this story packs on emotional punch as you ride the roller-coaster and are topsy-turvy in the world of Clara, Carter, Damon and Jace. She is a single mother to young Matty, her son. He is in need of surgery to save his life and that means she needs money. The one thing she did not want to do was return to her hometown of Blackthorn Falls but she has no choice. Thinking she could get in an out was the plan. But that was before her plan went sideways in so many ways, including the three large and sexy Navy SEALs who decide they want to keep her. But there are secrets, connections, and feelings to be dealt with, along with a lot of sexy hot passion. This is a deliciously naughty book that was an entertaining read.

Clara ran from her hometown after seeing something she shouldn’t have. All alone and pregnant, she gets by until baby Matty develops a life-threatening heart condition. Now 4, Matty needs life-saving surgery. She returns home for some money left for her, which will help with Matty’s medical expenses. Though she hides, word gets out she’s there, and her brothers' 3 BFFs, Carter, Damon, and Jace, track her down. These guys are hot for sharing luscious Clara, and little Matty is literally one of the family. So much suspense…someone is after Clara. Lucky for her, her guys — all former military special forces — now run a successful security company. These three men are happy to share Clara and care for Matty, just as he is their son. The bad guy is typically the rich guy, and he’s a real evil monster. This is a hot story, but not blatantly in your face. Love the happy ending. Linda

This was such a super fun read! Romance, second chances, intrigue, and forgiveness are all front and center. Clara had to leave her life behind through no fault of her own, including the three men who loved her after the death of her brother 💔.
Returning to her hometown, she runs into the guys again, and they’re determined to keep her forever ❤️. Their relationships grow while secrets are revealed, helping everyone find forgiveness and closure.
It was also great to see Margot and Carter mend their relationship 🫂, and Matty is just the sweetest kid 🧸. A heartwarming, fun, and steamy reverse harem romance that delivers on all fronts 🌶️🔥.

Clara falls for her brothers three best friends, gets intimate with one and then witnesses something that made her run. She can blame this on her young age all she wants, but it’s really just her stupidity. This book was way too over the top angsty for me. The entire book just pi$$ed me off. I’m giving it 3 stars because there’s a few good parts, but this just wasn’t that good to me. If it wasn’t for her needing the trust her brother set up, she would’ve never went back and also would’ve never told one of the mmc’s that he was the father of her son. Like blame you running five years ago on being young, but now she’s just plain stupid. Ugh.

In this book we meet Clara Barnes, Carter Lockwood, Jace Wilder, and Damon Cross. When this book opens we find that Clara is standing in her son's hospital room trying to find a way to pay for surgery for him. She knows she has to go back to her home town to get help since she has no other options. What she didn't plan on was the impact of seeing Carter, Jace, & Damon again. The guys didn't realize it but they've been waiting for Clara to return. Now that she's back they will do anything to keep her. Can they all find a HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?

What a wild ride. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a reverse harem romance between Clara and her brothers three best friends Carter, Damon & Jace. If you love reverse harem stories full of steamy scenes, romance and happy endings then this is the book for you. I love that the author is a natural born storyteller weaving tales of love and romance. It did not take long upon starting this book to fall in love with the characters. Clara is a single mother with a sick child. She returns home to claim the trust fund her brother left her to be able to pay for her son's medical care. Danger lurks everywhere and she will do anything to keep her child safe and secrets to herself.

Now she's back to claim the inheritance that her brother left her to save her son's life. Carter, Damon and Jace don't know the full story of why Clara left and they want answers. The past that she was running from is now back and Clara has to protect not only herself but her son and her unborn child. Can Carter, Damon and Jace get to them before its too late? This was such a good story and it does have a happy ending.

Clara returns after running 5 years ago to claim her inheritance from her brother. When Jace, Carter and Damon find out she is back, they are on her doorstep. Lots of angst, plenty of steam and action toward the end (first half of book was kind of slow) made this a fast read. Characters weren't my favorite by this author, Clara was a bit of a doormat and the guys, although they tried to be tough, just fell flat. Some of the backstory (how Clara and Carter originally got together) was missing and would have helped engage the reader.

In order to give her son - Matty the life - saving operation he needs Clara (FMC) has to confront her past and go back to Blackthorn Falls. A place that has bad memories for her after she left in a hurry years ago to protect herself. Only leaving behind her and her brother's friend's - Carter, Jace and Damon. Now that she's back on town they bring a whole new set of problems as well as the reasons that she left in the first place still being there. Bringing up secrets from the past. Some great plot twists and turns that all made for a great read.

Once I started I couldn't put it down. There were some tears, a lot of laughter, especially when the men get possessive. You are mine and you will not leave me.
Clara is only in town long enough to claim her trust fund, in and out without anyone knowing. But the men do not let her get away. She left once without saying goodbye, she won't get away again.

I love this fabulous book. Clara ran five years ago for a very good reason. Danob, Carter, and Jace were her brother's best friends and all were in love with Clara. Hard to put this book down. This book sucks you in from the beginning. Clara was trying to get in and out of town before anyone knew she was there. Unfortunately that didn’t work and Carter Jace and Damon are all gone for her. There are secrets galore, twists and danger surrounding her. This book is great and I loved it but sometimes Clara’s decisions boggled me and annoyed me. Overall great book.

Spice and action!

This story keeps you on your toes. Emotionally your all over the place while your glued to the intrigue in the story. A lot of action, a set of sexy heroes, some cute kids and loyal friends, what single mom could ask for more? Oh yeah a happy ending.. ✔️. I loved this book!.
