Anna’s books are always such a delight, and this sweet, Christmas time rom-com was no exception! It felt so good to be back in Cloverfield.

When single guardian Oliver hired Emily as a nanny for his infant goddaughter, neither expected to fall in love. But because this is a rom-com, we readers totally expected it—and rooted for them the whole way through!

With all the cuteness, there’s Anna’s signature depth of storytelling. She reminds us amid the laughter and banter that productivity doesn’t equal our worth, that we are worthy of love, breaking down our walls to let people in hurts but is worth it, and how loss & grief & abandonment can impact us.

So between the pages you’ll find meddling friends, loads of hot chocolate, toxic family relationships, plenty of Beatles’ references, and hopefully a smile!

Book two of the Cloverfield series by Anna Augustine. ❤ I loved this one even more than On Thin Ice.

Oliver is the unexpected guardian of Charlotte, a newborn whose parents (Oliver's best friend and his wife) are killed in a car accident. He has NO IDEA what he's doing, and his boss (also his mom) is mad about this new interference in his life. Emily was most recently a preschool teacher but needs a change. She hears about Oliver hiring a nanny and applies - the circumstances around Charlotte becoming an orphan striking a chord in Emily's heart.

I loved reading Oliver and Emily's story. It was lovely and sweet and all the goodness. ❤ I appreciated the recognition of grief - those unexpected moments when loss hits you again. It wasn't too much, but the acknowledgment of it was perfect.

And now I wait (hopefully??) for Susan and Ryder's story....maybe??? Please? lol

I absolutely loved the banter between Oliver and Emily! If We Do is a wholesome and heartwarming story that will give you the vibes of a warm cup of cocoa, a fire in the fire place, and a fuzzy blanket. You’ll fall in love with Oliver’s sensitivity and loyalty.
