Post Malone's Big Rig Vol. 1
Evil Dead meets Mad Fury Road in Post Malone’s BIG RIG, a “batsh*t, sulfur-soaked, pedal-to-the-metal gorefest” (Matt Dinniman, Dungeon Crawler Carl) set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent from the heavens.
THEY PRAYED FOR A MIRACLE. THEY GOT 25 TONS AND 18 WHEELS OF HOLY WEAPON.
Post Malone’s BIG RIG.
The Dark Ages… Demon hordes plague Europe as Hell invades Earth. The Six Petals, a secret sect of The Knights Templar, pray for a holy weapon to drive back the scourge. What crashes to earth instead is The Rig, a fully loaded tractor trailer. In the aftermath of its arrival, the only man left standing is an enigmatic former priest. He will become Trucker and lead the fight against Hell—with 25 tons and 18 wheels of demon-slaying machine.
Created by Post Malone. Written by Post Malone and Adrian Wassel. Drawn by Barbaric co-creator and Dark Knights of Steel artist Nathan Gooden

A big rig and medieval knights fighting demons sounded like something I should have had a great time with. I liked the ideas here. Unfortunately, the story was pretty terrible.
I kept waiting for something to make me care beyond the premise, but the writing by Post Malone and Adrian Wassel never really got there for me. The story felt simple and thin, with very little depth to the characters or anything happening around them. There’s plenty of violence and destruction, but I didn’t feel invested in any of it. Somehow, a truck tearing through demons in medieval Europe wasn’t nearly as cool to read as it sounded.
Nathan Gooden’s art, though, is really, really good. The demons, the action, and the sheer scale of the rig look fantastic. I loved the black-and-white artwork and the selective bursts of color. Visually, there’s so much here to enjoy, and I spent more time appreciating the pages than caring about what happened next.
But the art could only carry this so far for me. Great ideas, great artwork, and a really weak story. I wanted to like this a lot more than I did.

Talked about sword and hammer! This is just cra-cra, bloody demon fighting after the crusades from a big semi. Yeah, what I said. Far-tastic imagination here, especially when Hell's Mistress roared out of Hades in her own blood rig! Nice surprise coda shows off a bone rig now too.
Story is entertaining, ideas are fresh and trope-fun, art is super splatter crazy so nothing really to get excited over.
Entertaining enough to read the next.

I'm not even sure how to describe this one, but I liked it! Great artwork and a wild story for sure!

I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Being a huge Post Malone fan, I had some high expectations. The story is good, but I was expecting...more? In a way, this felt a little bit dragged out.

In Big Rig An ex-communicated priest, a witch, and a Native American archetype take on a horde of demons with the help of a spiritually enhanced big rig, complete with modern weapons like grenades, flame throwers, and Gatling guns all set in medieval England. It’s a bizarre, wild, strange mashup that, while not exactly perfect, actually works far more times than it doesn’t.
And while it’s strange and kind of throws you smack dab into the story without much explanation, I couldn’t help but enjoy myself reading it.
Credit to Post Malone and Adrian Wassel for taking a big swing on something and actually making a story that should stick out from a bloated market of boring and safe comic books. Should also shout out Nathan Gooden’s artwork which also makes a pretty big statement for looking good and not half-assed or lazy.

This book is absolutely ridiculous. It's basically a spin on Army of Darkness. In a medieval world plagued by demon-possessed people, a semi truck falls out of the sky. One of the warriors puts on a trucker hat and suddenly knows how to operate it. In the trailer are apparently all kinds of weapons. They travel the countryside fleeing these demons even as more humans continue to be possessed. (See, it's just like the Deadites from Evil Dead.) My first thought was they are going to run out of gas real quick but they come up with a goofy answer for that as well. This is only volume 1. Nathan Gooden's art is REALLY good. It's a black and white comic except for the occasional use of red. It's fun in a dumb, BRZRKR kind of way.

As others have said, I wanted more out of this one, but I’m not sure I found it here. The whole thing felt like someone really liked American Truckers and Doom so they decided to mash them together. The result is uh…mediocre?
I’m kind of just getting tired of written media deciding to “explore” the trauma of religion by simply asserting that authoritarian organized religion is perhaps not the best thing…surprising, right?
I don’t know, there ARE good examples. This just might not have been one of them. At least the fight scenes were cool to look at. Read at your interest level.

The worldbuilding in this post apocalyptic demon Hunter fantasy comic is only topped by the artwork. Gruesome and intense scenes erupt from the page. DOOM. There are plenty of big moments and a cool Trucker who is like a dark Paladin in modern day gear. Instead of a horse he has Big Rig to plow through the hordes to come. LEVIATHAN!

I don't know how to honestly rate this. I laughed out loud twice, but it wasn't because anything was funny. It was the cringe. It's not good. It's not bad. It's also not worth more than $3. Do what you will.

Super rad. An eighteen wheeler used as a weapon against the creatures of hell? Say less, Posty.
Loved the girl power duo that follows Trucker to find and kill the princes of hell. The final battle seen was epic and I can't wait for volume two!

This one is a mixed bag. The Art gets 5 stars. The story gets 3 stars. I enjoyed it overall but a guilty pleasure. Empty calories. Now I know Post Malone sees himself as an excommunicated Knight Templar/ Truck driver. Who knew?

Silly, but fun! Cool art. It feels a bit choppy at parts though, like it’s missing scenes

Chaotic, blood-fueled dark fantasy that’s brutally bewitching in its fury and execution.

This is different, that's for sure. A big rig in medieval Europe--very different. I thought the monsters and demons were cool. The storyline is a bit chaotic. I do want to see where this story goes.

Asså ja. Idk. Jag köpte den för att Post (the one and only goat of all goats top 3 human of all time) var i titeln. Han hade inte mycket med denhär "boken" att göra. Den är säkert jättebra om man gillar comic books. Det gör inte jag. Ganska ass. Det typ bara hände skit.
