A Crown of Fire and Ice: A Spicy Fae Romantasy

Rate this book
One reckless leap. One broken portal. A love forged in chaos and fire.

Layla

I’ve never belonged anywhere.

So when I hit rock bottom, fresh off losing a nationally televised “Superhero” competition, a devastatingly handsome man with pointed ears asks me to jump into a swirling vortex and help save his world…
I jump.

Was it reckless? Absolutely.
Was it smart? Not even a little.

Within minutes of landing, we’re attacked by shadow demons. Two things are my beautiful elf is not as competent with portals as advertised, and dying might be the best outcome, because whatever these creatures are, becoming one of them would be far worse.

Raith

Convincing a human to fight in Domhan should have been the hardest part.

Instead, Layla leaps into the portal without hesitation, and that’s when everything goes wrong.

I’ve spent my life failing to live up to my family’s legacy. I’m not the perfect son, like Aaran. Not the honored soldier, like Liam. I’m the third son, the disappointment who has too much power and not enough discipline.

My magic is strong, but my focus slips at the worst possible moment. The portal shifts and drops us onto the wrong world—a dying hell, crawling with the Witch Queen’s minions.

I’ve made another catastrophic mistake, and this time an extraordinary human is paying the price. I’m going to make this right, even if it means walking through fire and ice to get her home.

If you love fated mates, love at first sight, the “spare” who never measures up, save-the-world stakes, and love forged in disaster Romantasy, then you need A Crown of Fire and Ice. Available in Kindle Unlimited.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Layla has never really felt like she belongs anywhere. So when she loses a nationally televised "Superhero" competition, she receives an offer that she can't refuse and jumps into a swirling vortex with a handsome elf to help save his world. It's pretty reckless, and not exactly smart, but at the time it seemed like the thing to do.
Within minutes of landing they are attacked by shadow demons. She then realises two things. One is that her beautiful elf is not as competent with portals as he said he was, and that dying may be the way to go, because whatever these creatures are, becoming one would be so much worse.

Raith can't believe how easy it was to convince this human to fight in Domhan, yet it should have been the hardest part. Instead Layla doesn't even think about it and just jumps right into the portal without any hesitation whatsoever, and that's when everything that seems so right goes so very wrong.
Raith has spent his whole life failing to live up to his family's legacy. He's the third son, not the perfect son like his brother Aaran, nor is he the honored soldier like Liam. He's just the son who has too much power and not enough discipline. His magic is beyond strong, but his focus slips at the last minute making the portal shift and dropping them both onto the wrong world. The world they end up on is dying, and teeming with the Witch Queen's minions.
It seems he's made another mistake and now an innocent human is paying the price. Raith is determined to make the situation right, no matter what it takes, even if it means walking through fire and ice to get her home to safety.

Andrea Rose has a certain flair to her writing that I adore. When I read her books I feel like I'm either a bystander watching from the sidelines or a bystander who's right in the middle of the fray. If you enjoy fated mates and the fae you won't want to miss this amazing book.

A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Layla has spent most of her life alone, having been in the foster system since birth. She enters a superhero competition to prove to her doubters that she can be someone, but unfortunately, she loses. In the locker room afterward, a portal opens and a gorgeous man steps out, asking her to come with him to save his world. With nothing holding her back, she walks through the portal. Raith is stunned that Layla agreed so easily, but they soon realize they’ve landed on the wrong planet. Raith feels like he’s messed everything up, but maybe fate brought them here to rescue a group of elves hiding from the witch queen, who has destroyed much of their world. The elves won’t survive much longer without food and water. As they fight side by side, Layla and Raith discover they are stronger and braver than they ever imagined. But will they make it to his world in time to help save everyone?

This is the final book in this series, about the 3rd son and his quest to find the human who will help save his land. THis story also concludes with the big battle and decides who wins and who lives and dies. I have had a lot of fun reading this series and was glad so many questions got answered in this final instalment, the author kept so many strings going and blended them all extremely well. There are some steamy scenes throughout and a few twists and turns.

Worth a read if you like fantasy romance

Great ending to the series. Unlike in the previous books, Layla is more than ready to go with Raith. They end up on the wrong world which gives her time to learn to control her magic and bond them as a couple. Once they make it home, things happen quickly. I read Part 2 straight through. Well written as always with great steam and loads of wonderful characters. Well worth the read even though I am sad the story is over.

It's the big slam bang finish we've been waiting for! The youngest son goes on his mission and discovers he is not the screw-up he thought he was. At least not with human Layla by his side. Layla finds the family she always wanted and Raith finds his purpose, his talents, and his family's respect he never knew he had.

A throughly enjoyable read to add to this really good series. Layla is brave beyond belief and Raith is the spare with too much power, so much he lands them both in the wrong world to fight a dying hell overrun with the witch's minions. Can he get Layla home and will he want to let her go.

This book is a fantastic conclusion to the three-part series, tying together every storyline in a way that feels both satisfying and meaningful.

The characters are as vibrant and compelling as ever. Each arc is well-developed, and it’s easy to connect with their struggles and triumphs. The setting is absolutely immersive—Andrea Rose paints a world that feels alive, filled with rich details and breathtaking imagery.

The plot is fast-paced, engaging, and full of twists that had me turning the pages. Best of all, the series wraps up with a happy ending that feels well-earned, leaving me with a genuine sense of closure and joy.

If you’ve followed the series from the start, this final installment is everything you could hope for and more!
