God where to even start! This is going to be one of the hardest reviews I’ve ever had to write up. This gave me whiplash, I never knew what was going to happen next, a few times I thought I’d guessed who it was only to be blindsided. Twists and turns which moved faster than any roller coaster I’ve ever come across. Had me reeling in its wake.
Harper-Rayn is in her element, in a job she loves, working towards becoming a forensic pathologist whilst completing her residency at Blackstone Private Hospital. Cutting to the chase, she performs autopsies for a living. With a huge amount of crime at Blackstone there's always an abundance of the dead to work on..She prefers to work the midnight shift, the music cranked up, getting into her zone. Until one night as she's writing up a report a prickly crawly feeling overcame her, chills down the spine where she felt like she was being watched. Then the bodies started turning up with cryptic messages carved into their bodies which she had to decipher.
Now onto Knight..Harper's step-uncle. He's top of his field as a Swat officer in the country. He's always been attracted to Harper but has never stepped over the line of no return. Until she rings him in a panic and he becomes entangled within her web, as he strives to protect her from a stalker the lines become blurred between them.

This book had me flabbergasted, I never knew what was going to come at me next. Throughout I kept repeating god when is she going to catch a break, all for it to come tumbling down in a clusrerf#ck of a twist. And just when I think all is right in this world, I’m thrown over a cliffy. I had it in the back of my mind one would appear being that it’s a duet, but to this extent, that ending was a doozy!
I’ve probably encountered my fair share of dark books along my journey of reading, so for me I’m pretty much desensitised, this for me had some pretty disturbing gritty parts but not pitch black, but for others check those triggers.
Only an author can come up with a storyline like this! Oh and the character art thrown haphazardly throughout this book was truly stunning and made for such a pleasurable reading experience.. loved, loved, loved it…

5⭐️ This was such a wild ride. This is giving allll the dark romance vibes I love but with like a thriller twist and I’m OBSESSED. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in book two. Knight is top book boyfriend material. This honestly has me on my edge of my seat the entire time and did mention the spice was spicinnnn. Ugh loved this.

What in the what did I just read???
I was looking down at my percentage bar nearing the end thinking, this still doesn't feel right and then Sheridan gives me a whiplash ending! Probably one of the biggest shocks I've read this year. This book has plot, spice, twists, a sassy FMC and an MMC we will all drool over.
What I love about Sheridan Anne books is that she always keeps me guessing. She sets her books up to have multiple suspects and while you read, you are trying your hardest to figure out who the culprit is. I thought I had the book figured out and then I was blindsided.
I still don't know how to feel or what I believe. This book is one big cluster F*** but also good at the same time. Let me start by saying I was annoyed and angry almost the whole time reading. I was fully prepared to write a review about how messy Harper is and how the book does not follow investigation logic. Hear me now when I say, you have to FINISH this book no matter what your opinion of it is because your opinion is wrong. This is not a book you can DNF because you truly don't understand what is happening.
I still have my theories, and I am sticking to them until the next book. All I can say is expect the unexpected and everything you think you know is probably incorrect. Once I get over my shock from this ending, I will be patiently waiting for the second book of this duet.

Sheridan Anne didn’t get the title queen of cliffhangers for nothing and this one is absolutely EPIC. One of my favorite reads from her yet. It’s suspenseful, packed with twists you never see coming, and that ending? Jaw on the floor, breath stolen, flipping pages like this can’t be it?! But yep… book two is coming, and I’m praying the wait isn’t long.
The forbidden vibe, the age gap, the off-the-charts chemistry … SO good. These two are pure heat. And the dynamic? A forensic pathologist and a SWAT Team leader with explosive tension for days. I devoured it.

This book had me constantly guessing, on the edge of my seat. It gave me the same thrills that I had while reading Pen Pal (if you know, you know).
The attraction between the main characters is next level, and their spicy scenes had me gasping!

This story had me hooked from the start and left me reeling at the end…. Yes I almost threw my kindle!!! There are so many twists and turns that gave me whiplash from wondering what the hell is happening to I need the answers now!!!!
The FMC Harper Rayn is a badass that is kicking goals in her career as she finishes her residency as a Forensic Pathologist working nights in the morgue at the Hospital. The MMC Knight is a successful SWAT team leader who is tough, handsome and very hard to resist. Who is also her Step Uncle 😉 🤭 Together they are fire!! 🔥
This is a spicy, suspenseful and addicting read that will leave you guessing, as it does end on a cliffhanger (like I said I almost threw my kindle!!!) make sure you add this to your TBR, you won’t regret it!

Harper-Rayn is a forensic pathologist in Blackstone’s morgue, and the bodies on her table start leaving messages meant only for her. That hook grabbed me immediately, and the story just keeps building from there.
Enter Knight, Harper’s step-uncle. A Swat Officer with one hell of a dirty mouth. He’s controlled, lethal, and laser-focused on her. I fell for him immediately. The obsession-versus-protection push-pull hits hard, and their chemistry is intense even when the story leans into the thriller elements. I loved the cat-and-mouse rhythm, the masked-stalker, and the way Harper keeps looking danger straight in the eye instead of backing down.
The spice sits high without overpowering the plot. It’s filthy enough to satisfy but grounded in suspense and emotion that keeps the pages flying. And the one-liners and banter from Harper, Knight, and Izzy had me cackling. I need more of Diesel, Ace, and Izzy, because that dynamic is pure gold waiting to happen.
And seriously, what in the cliffhanger hell was that ending?! I closed my Kindle and just sat there. What a twist. I need book two immediately. So happy it’s already been announced. I will definitely be reading.

Sheridan Anne, ma’am, what the actual hell kind of emotional rollercoaster did you strap me into? Because I’m still hanging upside down screaming for answers.
This book is a 10/10 certified banger, and I don’t hand those out lightly. Just when you think you’ve cracked the code—BOOM—you flip the page and suddenly you’re questioning everything. Yourself. Your Kindle. Reality. Your taste in men. Your life choices. EVERYTHING.
These characters? Too real. I swear I could smell them. I could hear them. They’re so vivid I had to check my house to make sure none of them were lurking in the shadows ready to cause chaos. The writing is that immersive—it’s practically a 4D experience.
The imagery? Cinematic. I was living in that world, baby. Eating the tension for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sheridan didn’t just write a story, she wrote a whole dimension and YEETED me straight into it.

What in the actual f**k! See this is why I love Sheridan Anne! If she writes it, I will most definitely be reading it. She leaves you flab-the-f**k- gasted. I was in a whirlwind of who dun it. I spent the majority of this book thinking I figured it out, only to be smacked with… nope you know nothing Jon Snow. The twists and turns in this book will give you whiplash. Literally grabs you from the start and makes you want to throw your kindle at the end! I loved every f**king minute of it.
This book has everything I look for in a stalker romance. It has plot, spice, some comedy (I love me some one-liners), twists (oh those f**king twists), a hot MMC 🥵, & of course a strong, sassy FMC. Harper is a bad ass & I love how she stood her ground especially with her mother (god I despise that woman 😒). And Knight Slater, my gawd, why did I get Derek Morgan vibes!! And I quote “If you were to burst into flames, I’ll be right there stepping into the fire with you. If you’re burning, doll, I’m going to burn right along with you.” I MEAN!!!! Tell me I’m wrong, I dare you! The chemistry between these two was so steaming hot🔥. And the way Knight cares for her melted my heart. I mean sure their relationship is “forbidden” but hey the heart wants what it wants & I just loved these two.
I can’t wait for Ready or Not because that cliffhanger, which yes you heard me. She left us with a freaking cliffhanger!!! It literally took me out! Jaw to the floor, what in the ever loving f**k cliffhanger. My mind is already in detective mode trying to working it out. So yeah, I need book two like now!

Alright, back when Sheridan Anne said she was going to go down a dark path with her writing, I was here for it. When each book got progressively darker, I was here for it. I am a sucker for anything dark. When I started to make my way through Hide and Seek, I knew I was in for a good time!!!! I think this is her best and darkest yet and I feel, now that it's a series (woop), it's only going to get better!!!
I think Harper-Rayn has an incredibly interesting job, if you can handle bodies and the morgue obviously. She has a bff that everyone should have. Izzy is fabulous, she has Harper-Rayn's back in all things and she is hilarious. Harper-Rayn and Izzy are 2 weird peas in the same weird pod and I love their dynamic. Harper-Rayn knows what she wants but at the same time she is not without insecurities and that makes her relatable and one heck of a chick. And Knight Slater...... swoon, drool, kind of puts me in mind of Jack Reacher and not the Tom Cruise version, eewww. 6ft 4, solid muscle, all round impressive package, hahaha. He is also something every girl should have!!!
I have to admit there was 1 certain part that I wasn't a huge fan of and how it played out but with all things, you have to trust the process and of course, that the ending did not let me down. It's left us all dangling on the cliff, wondering WTF???? I have a question about 1 character and I have a theory about another but I need more please and thank you!!!!

Secondly, Hide and Seek is seriously dark, deranged and downright addictive!
I audibly gasped when I started piecing together who the stalker was - only to realise (multiple times) that I was embarrassingly wrong. Blindsided every single time and by the end my heart rate was clinically concerning 😅
I feel like this one is best read going in blind so I’ll leave a couple of tropes/microtropes but just know it’s spicy, dark and addictive!

Sheridan gone and done it again. I kinda stared at a wall for a minute after this rollercoaster of a book. I went back and forth between loving the FMC and hating her, but ultimately, she was a funny saracstic b*tch, and very true to what I expected from a Sheridan Anne book.
The MMC - Knight, is a brooding SWAT team leader golden retriver with a dark Dom side, oh. And he's her step uncle and absolety delicious. The FMC, Harper, a sucessful med student completing her residency in Forensic Pathology. Strong, independent and funny, oh, and is sassy af. On a fast track to achieving her career goals, her whole life goes up in flames when a masked stalker sets his eyes on her.
Also - we need to shoutout the side characters in this story. The best friends of both Knight and Harper are hilarious and loyal and I love them.
Sheridan once again delivered a perfectly balanced, head fxck of a dark romance. I need book two now.

I chose to do the audio for this because I love both narrators. They did phanominal. They brought these characters to life so effortlessly and did them justice.
This was an amazing book and has once again proven why this author is an auto-buy for me. Each book she writes gets better and better but my favorite will always be Pretty Monster because of when that book came into my life.

this book didn't make any sense from the start, I dont know if it was intentionally written this way. nothing made sence.
a forensic pathologist falls for a swat team leader who is her step uncle. dead bodies turn up at the morgue she thinks it's related to her stalker.
so many unexplained things happen and not once was reported to the hospital or police just swept under the carpet as if that wasn't an option. so many questions left unanswered and nothing adds up.
was there childhood abuse? why is the mother daughter relationship like it is?
what is wrong with the billionaire step dad?
you do an autopsy report with red flag everywhere and noone questions it.
had to struggle to get through this as it didn't make any sense

I officially have a book hangover.
This book absolutely consumed me. I finished it in less than 24 hours! I just could not stop reading. I switched between reading and listening. The audio was great and bonus there were surprise pictures in the book.
I kept going back and forth on the stalker situation and I am absolutely surprised to to find out one of my theories were correct. However, i did not see the ending coming! I do feel like a lot of questions were left unanswered and multiple situations were just skimmed over. Hopefully book 2 will give us a more indepth background.
I absolutely cannot wait to read the conclusion to this story!!

I’m fully convinced Sheridan can do no wrong when it comes to the books she writes. This one had me questioning everything the whole way through which I loved! Cannot wait to find out what happens in book 2!

Okay hear me out!! This book is an absolute masterpiece. I loved everything from the plot,the twists,and my favorite part is the mmc! If you love a golden retriever made out of muscle with a dark side and tattoos this book is for you! I do recommend checking your trigger warnings since this is a dark romance other than that I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did! Sheridan Anne continues to be in my top 5 authors everytime!

As soon as Sheridan started sharing teasers for this book, I knew it was a must read for me!
This book is a dual POV dark stalker romance. Our main characters and POV's are Harper-Rayne, a bad-ass forensic pathologist working the night shift in the morgue, and her sexy step-uncle (YES STEP UNCLE!) Knight, who is also a SWAT team leader and fiercely protective. The tension between these two is insane! The relationship starts out as just physical, but you quickly can feel that there is more between them even though it is completely taboo and needs to be hidden from her mum and his brother.
Even the side characters are extremely well written with her best friend being Izzy, a weird and wonderful fashion designer, and Laith, her cheeky friend and #2 booty call. Then we have his friends Ace and Diesel, who are part of his SWAT team and will do whatever it takes to protect Harper-Rayne because of how much she matters to Knight. Every character is well thought out and believable.
