Developing Feelings

Rate this book
All Carter Vaughn wants is to have her name in a magazine. She wouldn’t be caught dead posing with the latest fashionable statement piece, but you’ll find her in the credited photographer box at the bottom of the spread. Reaching her dream seems more and more like a distant fantasy until a drunken Instagram message lands her on set with a notorious grump who wants nothing more than to keep her at arms length.

Brett Kane is on the verge of losing his career after some less than desirable headlines surfaced. He is tasked with keeping it together on his upcoming photoshoot. But can he keep his attitude in check with a sassy newbie on set challenging him at every turn?

Jes, or JB as you know her, has always dreamed of being a writer. From jotting scenes in her notebooks as a kid to creative writing courses at college, her mind has always dreamed up stories.

And thanks to readers like you, those stories can now be found between the pages of her novels.

Jes fits writing time around her full time job, two boys auditioning for the next Jackass movie, a dog that insists he hasn't been pet in months, and a fully housetrained husband.

Leaving a review and telling your reader friends about what you're loving is the best way to support an indie author.

I’m asexual so reading “smut” or “romance” is typically not interesting to me. I find it ruins the storyline often. The sex in this book was sprinkled thoughtfully and purposefully throughout the pages. It wasn’t overwhelming and didn’t feel forced. I will absolutely be trying more in the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true page turner. You won’t be able to get enough of this story. A story of realistic romance with a little bit of spice 😏 not to mention the amount of times I sat rooting for the characters in more ways then one. You will not regret this read one bit.

Im on the edge of my seat (impatiently)waiting to read about Ella’s story!

A book of drive, fate and lust tangled together beautifully. I loved JB Sharp's debut novel! I love when a book makes me long for visuals. All I wanted was to see what they captured! I couldn't put it down and definitely look forward to Book 2.

Jes, I'm so stinking proud of you! xo

I have to admit I was so scared to read this book. I’m always super honest with my reviews and my feelings on the books I read so when it’s a friend’s book I get worried. We’ve become great friends and I didn’t want to make her sad. I put it off for as long as I could but I’ve been super curious about it. I started it without telling her just incase 🤣 That worry quickly went away once I met BK and Carter. BK is so grumpy and Carter is such a hard working ball of sass. Their interactions made me so happy even if BK should have inserted his foot into his mouth multiple times. The transitions into steamy scenes were perfect. They felt very genuine and not forced or just thrown in there. There also weren’t too many of them and I appreciated that. I absolutely loved that she added zodiac signs into the storyline. It was a fun little added thing that made me so happy. I was a bit worried in the beginning when scenes/dialogue were replayed with each characters chapter but I promise that stops. It’s just setting it all up. With this being J.P. Sharp’s debut novel I’m super impressed and so would 11 year old her. Well done my friend 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Onto the next one because I loved the character in this one who is the main character in that one.

JB Sharps debut novel is the perfect balance of romance and spice 🌶️ Carter is an aspiring photographer. Brett is an established photographer, trained by the best, but on the verge of losing his career based on some less than desirable headlines related to him and the models he works with. Let’s face it, he’s kind of an ass. Needing a second shooter for an important upcoming shoot, Brett hires Carter, thinking based on her name, that she’s a man. Carter struggles as her pain in the ass boss keeps her at a distance. Brett is trying to keep her as far away as possible to not risk any more bad press. But the Stars have aligned for these two and soon have them falling for each other, even if they shouldn’t.

Amazing debut novel! The inner monologues of the characters are hilarious and relatable. And that private photo shoot scene? 🥵🥵🥵

TBH with the series name, the book name and the Aries symbol on the front cover I was really expecting that there was going to be more astrology content in the book. I’m not really an astrology girlie, but there was like two mentions of her reading her horoscope and that’s it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn’t really connect with the two MCs so I didn’t get invested in their relationship. Like the MMCs story was that people thought he was a dick so he became a dick to people? And because of the bad reputation he has built, now he can’t be a newborn photographer???? Whaaaaaattt??? Also, the third act breakup was essentially nothing.

Genre: Romance (MF)
Format: Digital
POV: Dual
Tropes: enemies to lovers, workplace romance, secret dating, grumpy/sunshine
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ /5
Age suggestion: 18+

Carters internal monologue is hilarious. I have a thing for well written one-liners and JB did not disappoint. I highlighted so much good stuff, about twice as much as my average. My favorite was:. “Coffee is almost as good as an orgasm. Almost.”

First published book and first in series by JB Sharp!!!
Unique perspective and fun, steamy read.

Forced proximity. Workplace. VERY strong personalities, both trying to prove something and making each other better in the end.

I loved this book. It was a basic love story but written beautifully. Even the simple spice throughout was amazing! I enjoyed this as calm down book after a book hangover.
