Rylee Burke considers himself pretty open-minded, but he draws the line at being haunted by freeloading ghosts. Worse, he’s pretty sure the specter died in his apartment. He just can’t find the body.
Turning to MNSTR for help, he’s not entirely sure what he needs, but Crisis Containment seems like a good place to start. He is definitely in crisis, and he would very much like it contained.
He expected a witch, maybe an exorcist. Instead, he gets Caius Finch—a towering mountain of muscles and intensity. Locked and loaded, the griffin shows up ready for battle, but the only thing he’s wrecking is Rylee’s resting heart rate.
Now he has a problem he doesn’t want, another one he didn’t ask for, and a cocktail of mixed feelings he has no idea what to do with.
Rating - 4.5 stars This was definitely the best book outta the series. I adored Rylee and his no filter mouth. And Caius as well with his thoughts making me cackle quite a few times. This is definitely something you can read to get yourself out of a slump. Funny, fluffy with an actual plot and no angst. I devoured it within half an hour so definitely can say I adored it ♥️
This is a paranormal romance novella, featuring Rylee and Caius, and is book four in the At First series. When Rylee suspects a ghost haunting his apartment, he turns to MNSTR’s Crisis Containment team for help—only to get Caius, a brooding, muscle-bound griffin who’s more heart-stopping than helpful. What starts as a supernatural problem quickly spirals into emotional chaos, leaving Rylee with more feelings than answers. This story was all kinds of sweetness with some seriously funny moments. I am absolutely loving this series. Things to expect in this book are: Book 4 in series Paranormal Novella MM romance Low angst Human x Griffin Mystery Suspected ghost Help through app Zing Fated mates HEA
I'm in two minds about this. I found it a little difficult to warm up to the characters. We were given no back story and no real information about their lives outside of Rylee's apartment. There were plot holes and time became so fluid, I was never really sure how much of it had passed. On the other hand, this book had me laughing so hard, so many times that I'm inclined to forgive the author for everything else. This story was short, sweet, steamy (ish) and a perfect palate cleanser after a heavy read. 3.75*
MNSTR is an app that helps you find what you need. Riley thought his apartment was infested with a poltergeist and found a helper on the MNSTR site. This is a wonderful series that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. I definitely recommend it.
