The sands blow hollowly across the plains of time. Unseen by man an army was on the move, an army of darkness……. Slowly over the course of centuries the truth has been eroded away within the courts of men, until few yet stand for the ways of El Elyon, the Creator of the beginning and He who foreknew that one day the end would come……. Ayenathurim, a world poised on the edge of change. Chaos beckons as people fractured apart by ancient rivalries strive to hold on. The sounds of war echo on the wind, but who yet is able to stand in the gap for those who are blind to the signs of the times…………………the end, if so it must be, heralds the rise of heroes, even as monsters roar, and kings rise and fall. As Evil triumphs over the nations, even so it was foretold to come to pass and yet the end of darkness’s reign has already begun…….
I’m a redeemed ordinary person intent on bringing my Heavenly Father, pleasure and a return on the priceless investment that He has made into my life. I’ll never be able to fully repay Him, but my goal is to try and when my time comes to go that I’ll be caught away in the very act of still trying to do so.
Read my books and you'll learn everything there is to know about me in a way that only several hundred thousand words can do, but in a nutshell I'm imaginative and I love to write and at some point in my busy life I have apparently had a lot of time to do just that.
High fantasy on an epic scale: a wondrous tale with serious content
Unlike Guy’s previous books, this is not another speculative fiction, action/adventure, fantasy, romance romp as part of a series. It is much larger in scope. It’s a standalone high fantasy novel containing culminating battles of an entire world. Guy says his inspiration was El Cid. I don’t know about that as I have never seen the movie. Ayenathurim is a built world from Guy’s fertile imagination which enables Guy to tell the entire story of God’s dealings with mankind as an epic fantasy. Of course, it is fiction. As such, it will undoubtedly drive doctrinal purists nuts. So what? It’s not Earth as we know it, but the spiritual realities ring true. If you love fantasy, you’ll love this book.
The spiritual warfare involved has that touch of truth I recognize as a believer of forty years who has worked in deliverance. For the non-believer, it is simply exciting action/adventure. It’s an uplifting book as is normal for Guy.
A seemingly normal young man, a bastard product of rape, is driven away from his home. He meets a man who transforms his life. He becomes a wonderful warrior for good in the world. He defeats demons, legendary beasts, and eventually leads a huge army bringing good to a world that is really not interested.
He finds and marries a good woman with whom he shares a powerfully uplifting marriage as he wages the wars he’s called to fight. This is epic fantasy that will stir your soul.
The Kingdom is amazing. This is a stand alone book, and may be fiction however it is a way of looking at different things in the Bible through Fantasy style world. I have read through this book twice already and know that this is another one I have to save and read over and over.
Guy Stanton III once again shows he is a great author that is well worth more than 5/5 stars. This is one book that is a must read!
I am going to start this review with my comments for my Goodreads status when I finished this book:'
As usual, I am left on a high after finishing a Guy Stanton III novel. Epic fantasy, spiritual truths, highly entertained and my spirit edified. What more can I expect from a novel like this! Stanton always delivers!
Yes, it took me a while to return to reality. All Stanton's novels are very positive, uplifting and action packed. His characters are memorable, admirable and relational. But it is the spiritual aspects where he as author shines and his books as well, this one included. He unashamedly presents the Gospel of the Bible, the supernatural, the attributes of God, the ministry of angels, many biblical doctrines, all interwoven into the plot and form the structure of the novel. He presents evil as it is, demonic and from the nature of sin, and his demons and fallen angels are as they are biblically and in reality, nothing withheld.
Mr. Stanton's newest book, The a kingdom, is a great Christian fantasy and is a stand alone book. His storyline interweaves Biblical truths of faith, hope, and love in the lives of the characters. The world of Ayenathurim is being overcome by evil on every side and one man, Benaiah, shows the people the love El Elyon and his forgiveness. Benaiah's faith and hope for El Elyon draw the people from all kingdoms to prepare for the End Times and the beginning of the Kingdom. All who hear the message do not respond with new or renewed love for El Elyon but rather with hate and following the evil ones. Those who choose to follow El Elyon are rewarded with eternal life. The End Times are near, what will you do?
Benaiah was born a bastard yet called of God to be his faithful warrior. Benaiah has much to learn from his teacher Kurios "Kuri" but the lesson continue into the future. Benaiah is always moving north in direction becoming a warrior of renown gaining more soldiers as time goes by. Benaiah becomes a man known for his praying in both good times and bad times he is ever faithful. Benaiah follows his master's mission without fail. Will Benaiah falter? What is Benaiah's mission? Your answers await you in The Kingdom.
I'm impressed with the wealth of information imparted by the author to keep this book engaging. The characters are honest, raw, real, and down to earth. The story is complex, intriguing, and compelling at the same time. I look forward to more of this author's work in the future.
The Kingdom is a fast paced Christian fantasy adventure novel. It reminds me of "The Warrior Kind" series, which I also enjoyed. Unlike "The Warrior Kind", this is a stand alone book. The story takes place on Ayenathurim, a world populated by monsters, fallen angels, demonic animals, and half breeds. This is a story of Good vs Evil where the prize is the souls of people. A world on the brink of war, an unlikely hero, and God's love woven through the story line. This is an excellent End Times story that makes you ask...what would my choice be...
Because of violent content, this book would be best for older teens and adults.
I was given a copy of "The Kingdom" by the author, Guy Stanton III, in exchange for an honest review. Mr. Stanton is one of my favorite Christian Fiction authors. He is unapologetically Christian and doesn't mince words. "The Kingdom" is different than his previous work as it is a stand alone book, and an allegory. I really enjoyed the read. It tells the story of God's love for us, and His willingness to forgive, in a world of fallen angels, demonic animals, and half breeds of both. I can recommend for ages 16 and up. No swearing and the only sexual content is implied. This story does include fighting and violence, good versus evil. I give it four stars, I really liked it. (There are some grammatical, and editing issues that need to be fixed.)
I really enjoyed The Kingdom, it was reminiscent of the "Warrior Kind" series, which is my favorite series. The characters were great. From the very beginning you sympathize and cheer for Rollan. I enjoyed the creativity of the Higher Order Animals and the bad people/monsters/animals. It is a good story of redemption and that no one will be rejected if they call out to God and ask for forgiveness.
I noticed a few grammar issues but not a lot. There were a few spots that seemed a little wordy in the descriptions but overall a very good read. It kept my attention and I read it in an afternoon.
I'm finding that there are only a few authors who are able to entertain, but also edify, Guy S Stanton III is one of those authors. Kingdom is a fascinating story that takes you way beyond storytelling to ministry. As you read you will be captivated by the story and you will wonder or even hope that you have half of the faith as Benaiah to trust in El Elyon has he does. There is so much in this story to get excited about it will make your heart sing. Yes, this is fantasy, but it is sprinkled with elements of truth, hope, love and joy about the one who is the Lover of our souls.
One of the best Christian fiction books I have ever read! The characters and the storyline is fantastic. The world that Stanton is comparable to Narnia or Middle Earth. It was an epic read, and might be worth a second read too.
Not my kind of book. I understand authors have their axes to grind, but this religious cramming isn't my thing. I don't mind a bit here and there in a story, but to steep the entire story as a bible retelling, that's just not my thing, I read fiction to be entertained, not to be bothered with reality or religious preaching. This wasn't a bad story, it just wasn't for me. If you don't mind some heavy preaching in your scifi, then you may enjoy this one.
Amazing book that brings to the forefront of our minds the importance of God in every aspect of our life We are never alone in our struggles. Felt I was part of the story. Thank you.
Guy Stanton writes a story about a kingdom. This kingdom was of a promised people with a promised land, but the people were not faithful to their worshipping god, and as a result, were kicked out of the land and divided into a diaspora of people. There was a new covenant given by their deity, however, which allowed more than one people to worship. While the storyline shared is a work of fiction, the setting is not. Based on early Israel during the Roman occupation and ministry of Y'shua, this work follows one born of mixed blood and therefore rejected by all. I can’t reveal details of the book, as it is poor form, but I do find myself identifying the the main character.
Stanton writes in a first-person approach that engages the reader to see the thoughts, including patterns of thought, in the narrator. Almost as if reading a journal kept during that time, the audience is led through the experiences without special insight, caught by surprise just as much as the protagonist. This is not the first time I have experienced this style to this degree, but I have to point out that it is difficult to navigate this method as a writer and pull it off with such a high degree of success. Stanton succeeds in this, avoiding the awkwardness that is sometimes experienced in this style and engaging the audience to lead them through the adventure. His ability to craft words together to make impacting prose and balance the spiritual questions along with the physical is impressive and worth the read. I don’t finish every book I review, often needing to chunk books. In some cases, like this one, I am inspired to keep reading after the review is done, and in this case I certainly plan to. After over three hundred reviews, that means something.
Disclosure: I have received a reviewer copy and/or payment in exchange for an honest review of the product mentioned in this post.
This is the book that made me discover the author and hooked me to this series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was a new genre, a new-to-me type of stories, and it reminded me that God is powerful, that He deals with the impossible, that He is there for those who serve Him, and that His plan is perfect.
