Listen to My heart in the quiet of your heart . . .More. Life is full to overflowing, but we crave an illusive more. Via social networking, airwaves, and TV, our culture tells us to strive for more stuff, more activities, more adventure--you name it. Yet we are often left feeling unfulfilled and wanting. Empty, even. With so many demands for our attention, it is difficult to quiet our minds long enough to hear the still, small voice of our loving Father, and to listen to the One who desires to bring us so much more than the noise of everyday life. Judy Gordon Morrow discovered the more when her world was turned upside down and she knelt before God to seek Him and ask for His help. More than a decade ago, in tear-stained notebooks, she began to pen God's responses to her desperate prayers. Now, in The Listening Heart, Judy invites you to spend a year hearing from the God Who Speaks--the God who wants to speak to you. Each daily devotion echoes the Father's love and care for you, offering hope, comfort, encouragement, and more--a rich closeness with God that will satisfy the longings of your heart.
A Moving Way to Listen to God in your Personal Life
How does God speak to your heart? It comes through developing a listening heart as you pray and read the Scriptures. Judy Gordon Morrow has spent a lifetime reading the Scriptures, then actively listening to God's heart. These actions show in these daily devotions THE LISTENING HEART.
Whether you use the book yourself or give it as a gift to someone who needs the encouragement from the Scriptures, I highly recommend this well-crafted book. Reading this book with an open heart will give your spiritual life a boost toward the heart of God.
One year is nearly done and a new one is waiting in the wings and I am just about to start reading this book over again. Like many devotionals some days it was just right and others it just didn't do it for me but overall I have really enjoyed and been blessed with this book. Thanks to the author for firstly taking the time to sit and wait to hear...we would all be wise to do that for ourselves..
I have enjoyed this anointed book The Listening Heart. Even though it was released in 2013 , the daily readings through 2015 seamed to be written especially for me. The Holy Spirit is so amazing like that and I enjoy contact with others who are lead by the Spirit. This author and her book are definitely anointed. If you are looking for a daily devotional for 2016, I highly recommend this book. Jesus will use it to speak to you daily as He did for me.
It was okay. There was nothing really off-base about it, except the constant assertion that "all is well"; things are NOT always well. Also, I understand that these seem to be God's thoughts to the author, so it's not really personalized to me. Which is fine, I guess. One thing that really bothered me was the occasional slipping into Yoda-speak.
Oh how I loved this book. I gave away my paper copy after I finished it, but thankfully I have an eBook version. I will definitely read this again and again.
I enjoyed very day and Judy's writing spoke to my heart in a profound way.
I highly recommend buying copies to have on hand for a great gift, along with a journal to write down the things that will pour from you heart each day.
