The best way to describe this book is: “Wait. What?!” I’m so confused. I am questioning everything. What is happening?!
**insert meme of man standing in front of a board with strings going all over the place trying to find the truth and/or conspiracy**
I was so stressed out from reading this book. Why? Because I felt like I was going insane. Have you ever read a book and think to yourself, "Yeah, that doesn't make any sense"? This book makes too much sense. So you start questioning yourself, "Am I seeing it wrong? Is there something else behind another door or character that I did not take into account?"
The characters are what you want them to be, not who you believe them to be, and now your stress level has risen more high than a holiday shopping trip at Walmart on Black Friday.
The fact that this author can make you second guess the whole scenario of the book - AGAIN, is mindboggling. Worse is that he is not slow walking you through the facts. He smacks you with them in the face, all while you wonder what you are looking at. What is this? How did I not see that? Wait, how does that play into this other scene and/or character? You are scratching your head, replaying scenes in your mind, and shaking your head the entirety of the book. You are either very lost, somewhat close, but NEVER on point.
If you enjoy a great whodunnit, get your push pins, yarn, post-it notes, and pictures of clues ready because this is going to the ride you want to get on. This author is always going to give you a five star ride.
The Wrong Mentor Part Two by Matthew Benjamin is an enthralling sequel to The Wrong Mentor, plunging us into the sinister realm of manipulation, where human lives are mere pawns in a game. At last, we received the answers we longed for after the first book.
The beginning felt somewhat repetitive, but once that chaotic environment kicked into high gear, I was completely immersed in a world filled with unpredictable characters, where deceit and self-serving narratives reign supreme. Trust is a rare commodity, leaving you constantly questioning who is who and what their true motives are.
To fully grasp this book, you must first read the first book.
I really enjoyed The Mentor, Part Two! The story pulled me in right away and kept me curious about what would happen next. The characters feel real and the message about choices and influence really sticks with you.
If you liked the first book, you’ll definitely want to read this one — it’s even more engaging and gives you plenty to think about. A solid follow-up from Matthew Benjamin!
This second book was wayyyyy better!! I’m definitely hoping there’s a third book because the way the twists and ending happened, there’s just gotta be more!! This series takes you on a wild ride but it keeps you hooked!!
