—𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐, 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈— Absolutely divineeee!! I am in love with this series and the story telling that the narrators brought to life by DD! Book 2 brought us Tilly and Bobby’s story, following on from book 1 and it just keeps getting better.
Bobby has got to be one of my favourites out of the Afton brothers. He is just so easy to love, hilarious without meaning to be, and ruthless when needed, as per the Afton Adders code. Tilly our girl, I am so happy to be reading more about her and how they overcame their horrid ordeal in book 1. Both character arcs had some big changes, so much resilience, and growth- and thank god 😉 (ha ha Bobby IYKYK) Then there’s Marcus. The silent, hurting, protective member of the gang that he is. Learning more about him hurt me, but I’m so glad they all find each other in here 🖤
I loved the transformation in their relationship. The surprising, yet beautiful addition of Marcus! Excuse me these were some of the most beautiful MMF scenes I’ve read in a while! It doesn’t happen often. The nicknames shared between them all 🥺 The devotion and confidence each one gave to the other was damn beautiful. That ending was perfect!
This one was spicy, heartfelt, wicked scheming and a beautiful HEA. I can’t wait to read on about the next brother! 🙂↕️❤️🔥❤️🔥
“𝐈 𝐯𝐨𝐰, 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫”
Thank you Deanne Dietz & Blue Nose Audio for the audiobook! Allie Rose, James Joseph & Sean Masters for the spot on narrations 🖤
Hearts Etched in Glass by D.E., brought to life by the narration talents of Sean Masters, James Joseph, and Allie Rose.
At its heart, this is Tilly’s story. Estranged from her parents and unwilling to submit to their cruel demands, Tilly stands her ground against an arranged marriage to her attacker. Her defiance is both her strength and her danger, pulling her into the orbit of Bobby and Marcus.
Bobby, her fiancé, shares a history with Marcus that runs deeper than friendship. They grew up together, and now find themselves bound to Tilly in ways none of them could have planned. A pact between Tilly and Bobby, thirty days without intimacy to help Bobby break free from addiction, unexpectedly leads to Marcus stepping into their private world. It is here that the story begins to explore the ache of longing, the search for belonging, and the courage to be vulnerable. From there, the story dives into love, trust, and finding where you fit.
Sean Masters brings Marcus to life with a mix of youthful innocence and deep insecurity, making his vulnerability feel real. James Joseph plays Bobby with charm, humor, and a bit of quirky sweetness that’s impossible not to love. Allie Rose gives Tilly both grit and heart, perfectly balancing her toughness with her softer side.
From deadly confrontations to emotional reckonings, Tilly’s journey into the Afton Adders family is one of strength and defiance. The author’s compelling storytelling is enhanced by these three narrators who bring richness and emotion, making this beautifully written story truly unforgettable.
Hearts Etched in Glass is a 1930s historical mafia/gangster why choose romance. This is a dark romance, so I urge you to check the triggers before digging in. The story telling in this book is down right exquisite and captivating! The attention to detail of the world building and the characters is magical. Tilly, our FMC, starts out very demure and lost. And yet throughout this story she grows into a confident and adventurous temptress. She finds her path in the most beautiful way with the help from her two adoring men. Bobby, the fiancé and gangster, is everything and more. He loves hard, true, and deeply. He makes those he holds closest feel treasured and seen. Bobby is fiercely protective when need be and knows how to get down with his gangster self with palpable intensity. Then there’s sweet Marcus, the silent protector and best friend to Bobby that just wants to belong and be loved. This man’s backstory will break your heart and put you through all the feels. The love between Tilly and Bobby is electric, but when they welcome in Marcus it was like fireworks! They are the puzzled pieces to each other’s hearts and when the spice hits it is delicious. The way they encourage each other to explore, let go, and revel in their sexual needs is just exhilarating! Can’t wait for the next story!
For the audiobook, the narrators were spot on with each of their characters! James Joseph, Allie Rose, and Sean Masters worked well with one another! The narration was effortless, seductive, and delectable! Left me reeling and smitten!
This book is a relatively quick listen and I loved Bobby and Tilly after meeting them in book one. The narration continues to be superb with James Joseph really leaning into Bobby's charisma and loyalty; you can understand why people are drawn to him. Allie Rose brings out Tilly's growth as she embraces her Domme side and overcomes the ideals her parents placed on her. Add in Sean Masters' Marcus, whose vulnerability just broke my heart, and you have three characters who just fit together and help each other heal.
As much as I loved these characters and the narration, I just wanted a little more depth to push this to a four star for me. Bobby's addiction, Marcus' mental health and Tilly's trauma all had a lot of potential to go a lot deeper but it felt a little surface level for some of those elements as it is a fast paced story. I was still engaged and enjoyed the listen but it felt like a missed opportunity.
Although there are dark themes, the humour which balances it out was really funny; from the horse names to Bobby's cowboy antics, and pretty much anything Biscuit said. He and Baba are my favourite side characters and I hope there is more of them in book three!
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
Bobby thought Tilly was gone forever. He turned to drugs to get him through the loss. When he realized he had a second chance with the love of his life he was determined to give her everything she wants and make their family complete. Hearts Etched in Glass is a historical MMF romance about Bobby, Tilly and Marcus, who are all a little broken. They have been mistreated and abused by people they thought they could trust. They will have to work together to banish each other’s demons and reach their happily ever after. This story is romantic, violent and spicy! It was a super fun quick read. Any time Baba is on page get ready. She is unhinged and hilarious in the best way. Here are some tropes to seal the deal.
❤️🔥 Why Choose (MMF) ⚔️ ❤️🔥 Gangster/Mafia Romance ❤️🔥 Crawl To Me ❤️🔥 Touch Her and ☠️ ❤️🔥 Found Family
This audio is excellent and only enhanced a story and characters that I had already fallen in love with. The duet narration was seamless and I didn’t want the story to end.
The Afton Adders are back, folks! I am loving this series! It's my favorite time period, coupled with amazing MMF chemistry & emotions! Tilly, Bobby & Marcus were life for me. I found myself getting all wrapped up in their chaos and passion. The grittiness, the Peaky Blinders vibes, the absolute way Bobby & Marcus were obsessed with Tilly, with each other, and she with them.....it stole my entire soul for the duration! It's a beautiful combination of emotional struggles, spicy why choose, dark mafia moments, and absolute perfection!
The audiobook is absolutely phenomenal. Allie Rose brought us Tilly and she nailed every aspect. James Joseph.....oh how his voice captivated and soothes while absolutely making you swoon! He was intense as Bobby and I loved every second of listening to him! Sean Masters is a master (pun intended!) at his performance of Marcus. He delivered us Marcus in the best way! This trio of narrators were perfectly picked and I absolutely loved them.
