Okay, this sample hooked me. The emotions hit right away unrequited love, heartbreak, family tension, and then that forbidden spark you know is going to cause chaos. Joey’s pain over Jake feels so real; that kind of lifelong love that just shatters when it slips through your fingers. And then Xan enters the picture older, bitter, complicated and things suddenly get messy in the best way.

I love the dynamic between the two brothers and how that tension spills into Joey’s story. The setup promises not just a love triangle, but something deeper, with danger and secrets lurking beneath the surface. It’s got that addictive, emotional pull I look for in contemporary romance with a dark edge.

Great story. Definitely interesting storyline, can't wait for book 2. But it needs better editing.
