Once upon a time, in the town of Little Pippin Hollow, Vermont, Hawk Sunday spotted a silly ceramic rooster on a crowded table at the Annual Craft and Rummage Sale… and a whole flock of hot Sunday summer shenanigans ensued!

Hot Chicken is a collection of five steamy, interconnected stories where we catch up with each of our Sunday couples (Knox and Gage, Webb and Luke, Porter and Theo, Hawk and Jack, and Uncle Drew and Marco!) as they navigate the gloriously messy realities of their own happily-ever-afters.

Get ready to swoon as big questions are finally asked, sigh as tiny (baby) secrets are revealed, and snort-laugh at the ridiculous lengths these men will go to for love. Because when it comes to the Sunday Brothers, there’s no such thing as too much chaos, too much passion, too much romance…

Or too much Hot Chicken.

Note that Hot Chicken is a collection best enjoyed by those who’ve already listened to the Sunday Brothers series. It originally appeared as a Patreon serial, and no new content has been added.

Pauline and I bonded over our love for glacial slow burns and fangirling over the Sunday brothers🤍 and now we are buddy reading the final Sunday book, hoping for a future installment with Webb’s kid and maybe a prequel for uncle Drew? Ms. Archer?

Obviously, the book was great and I enjoyed reading it even though I am in my romance-hating era. So I guess it fits perfectly with the reading challenge and I don’t have to feel guilty!!

Webb is still and forever will be my favorite Sunday 🍎🍏

This was ridiculous and ott, but it was also like coming home and best of all it was a BUDDY READ WITH MY GIRL REEM 😭🧡

She and I were completely on the same page in thinking that this little collection of short stories went from ‘meh’ to ’ooooh’ to ‘aaawww’ in the course of the book 🥹

And while I could get some enjoyment out of each chapter, Webb and Luke’s story was THE cutest one by far, even though I thought it would be the hardest sell. I was grinning like an absolute maniac while reading it 😩 And then we even got a Drew and Marco chapter to round it all up which was so adorable that I kinda wanted to cry?

All in all, if you’ve loved the Sunday Brothers series by the author, you’ll probably like this too. It was full of love and sex, big steps and small conflicts and overall ridiculous Sunday Brother shenanigans.
But I recommend reading it in little chunks like R and I did, because otherwise it could get repetitive, especially the steam.

3,5⭐️

PS: One question though, lovely May: WHERE IS REED AND HIS SHORT STORY 😭😭 it’s honestly a crime he didn’t get page time here 🥺

If you love the Sunday Brothers, you'll love this little set of bonus short stories that catch up with most of them and see how they're all faring.

There's also a lovely bonus appearance of Drew and Marco and it's wonderful to get an insight into their longstanding relationship having seen it from the outside in all the previous books.

The premise of the book is hilarious and watching each pair in turn as they succumb to the magic of the Cock of Good Fortune will bring a massive smile to your face!

These are what happens after the happy ever after.
Life goes on, and now The Cock of Good Fortune is the star of the story.
It was fun, and did I miss uncle Drew and Marco story or they're just being cameos in The Sundays?

Rating: 5/5 🌟
Spice: 3/5 🌶️
Characters: Sunday couples (Knox and Gage, Webb and Luke, Porter and Theo, Hawk and Jack, and Uncle Drew and Marco)

A "good luck" ceramic chicken that floats between all of our couples from the series.
Short stories of each couple to show each of them take the next steps in their relationships and lives.

May Archer is a comfort author for me. I have loved every single book of hers I have ever read, and I reread them all regularly. I laugh, swoon, smile, get overly emotional, and wish I could be part of the crazy towns and families.

If you're looking for feel good romance that will make you laugh as well as maybe cry (happy tears) then this entire series is perfect. Honestly, every book from May Archer is perfect for it.
I will forever recommend her books to anyone that enjoys MM romance.

While helping out at a local fundraiser, Hawk Sunday happens upon a ridiculous ceramic rooster that his friend Teagan claims has some mystical energy surrounding it. Hawk takes the rooster home, and that night he and his boyfriend, Jack, clear the air between them with several rounds of meow-chicka-bow-wow. Convinced now that the rooster brings good luck, Hawk bestows it on his brother, Knox, who’s been experiencing tension with his boyfriend, Gage. From there, the rooster gets passed among the flock of Sunday brothers, leading to revelations and renewals.

It was delightful to revisit familiar couples from the original series and see where they are in life now. Lots of spice in this one, along with Archer’s trademark banter and humor. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Loads of fun! Five stars!

I love the whole Sunday family

I loved this swoony, spicy and heartwarming novella set in the ridiculous town of Little Pippin Hollow. It’s made up of five interconnected short stories starring the couples from the Sunday Brothers series. These are sort of bonus epilogues for those books letting us know what’s going on in the lives of the couples as a weird (maybe lucky) ceramic chicken cookie jar gets passed around. As long as you understand that and you’ve read the novels, you’ll love this novella. Despite its length, the novella was well written, the characters had depth and the storylines were fun and engaging. I’ll always be happy to read about the Sunday family.

A cookie jar in the shape of a rooster is the Macguffin that gives this short story collection its title, featuring the return of four of the couples from the Sunday Brothers series. (Jack & Hawk, Knox & Gage, Luke & Webb, Porter & Theo, and features a brief re-appearance of Teegan and John.) Not a particularly creative or interesting effort involving multiple chapters of sex scenes... though it does finally feature a non-sexual POV for Marco and Uncle Drew, the elder generation couple that were lacking any real background story within the series. And now somehow the author is shoe horning in another brother, Reed, who hasn't been mentioned in the series. *eyeroll*

One star.

Hot Chicken, aka the Tale of the Possibly Sentient Sex Rooster.

It was nice to catch up with the guys and see what they are up to. But the thing I really appreciated with this book is the last 15 pages; Marco's and Drew's chapters.

Marco and Drew have been there from the start, but we have rarely gotten read about them and their relationship. Here we get to not only read about what they are up to and their future plans, we also get to read about how they met. I, for one, would have bought a 15 page story about that alone. ♡

I was leaning towards giving this 4⭐, but then those 15 pages happened, so I'm landing on 5⭐.

This is an amazing book for fans of the Sunday Brothers series by May Archer. May visits each of the brothers from the full length novels and Porter from the novella. AND, even better, Drew and Marco get a section as well!
It’s a slice of life epilogues type of gift that is just wonderful. Our favorite characters have an interwoven story that follows them throughout this book and you will love every chapter. The charm and humor is all there and ready to make you smile and enjoy!
Highly recommend!!

Okay, this was adorable. Feet kicking the couch adorable, honestly.

I LOVED getting to see the assorted Sunday Brothers, AND Uncle Drew/Marco live out their happily ever afters.

The idea that each of these couples are having shenanigans around a ceramic chicken that may or may not have magical properties... peak entertainment.

This little novella was sweet and fun and absolutely a must-read if you liked the Sunday Brothers series 🩷🩷 which I did! So much!

Hot take- these were kind of boring.

These are quick snippets of updates featuring the Sunday brothers. Marco and Drew also have a snippet.
A common thread is a porcelain chicken cookie jar.
These are quick reads, but I struggled with them holding my interest. This may just be a me problem. So be it.
I like this author and like the stories of these brothers. I just wasn’t really entertained by these.

Hilarious Sunday Shenanigans

If you have binged the Sunday brother's stories then this is a MUST read! I love getting little updates on our favorite brothers and this didn't disappoint!

This author did a great job of weaving a story around Pecky, the cock of good fortune! My most favorite thing about these stories are the madness that just seems to work and also makes me laugh hysterically!

Grab it, read it, live it, love it!

A nice capstone to the series, this story is filled with humorous adventures as a ceramic chicken purchased at a town bazaar makes the rounds from one couple to another in the Sunday family. Its presence seems to have a bizarre effect on each and usually ends with some hot (and frequent) make-up sex.

I enjoyed the chance to touch base with all of the guys and had a few good laughs along the way.

I love books like this! :)

It was so lovely reading "after the HEAs" of some of my favorite characters.

This was hilarious, sweet, sad (but only for a little bit), and most of all, so full of love.

Now I want a book after this one to find out what happened after - each couple had something cool happened, lol.

A very cute collection of short coda style shorts to reconnect with the Sunday Brothers. The best one was Drew and Marco who we have never really heard their back-story. The fact that the 'cock of good fortune' brings their story to the front was really great. Love these goodbyes, which is what I suppose these are. Maybe. Never say never. And all that.

Such a fun glimpse back into the lives of a favourite series. These are fun and light, with plenty of great humour.

The Sunday brothers are unbelievably lovely and caring, despite their ridiculous shenanigans, and incredibly loyal to their loved ones.

I definitely recommend this book for a pick-me-up.

This was a fun, quick read. It was great to revisit the Sunday Brothers and their partners. I love how each couple has a different dynamic. The premise of the magical.....rooster was also really fun. Full of both sweet and steamy moments.

Spicy epilogues

This is not a stand alone book. It's a series of short stories with mild conflicts of the Sunday brothers (and uncle) in their happily ever afters. Most of them include described sex.

This did have some of Archer's usual humor, and I liked seeing the couples again -- BUT it was mainly just sex. There was no plot, imo, and after two chapters, I just got tired of using the chicken to have sex. *sigh*

All the Sundays

The Cock of Good Fortune! Hawk will never not make me laugh. The cookie jar travels through the family and helps solves misunderstandings and brings things to right again, with very steamy results. Kind of like Mary Poppins, without the lube.
