Scrooge You, Emily Tompkins!: A Sapphic Holiday Romance Across Time

Rate this book
Emily Tompkins can’t wait to leave this town behind. She’s always believed she was meant for something more—and she refuses to be held back by the weight of the past or the limits of time any longer. The Christmas store she inherited (and the painfully cheerful season that comes with it) will soon be a distant memory. Especially now that she’s discovered aliens—and with them, the ability to time travel. But there’s one small Josslyn Rivera, Emily’s old rival… and former crush. After high school, Josslyn left town and never looked back. Her wanderlust has taken her around the world, and she’s only home for the holidays to visit her family. She’s happy to be back—so long as she can avoid the one person who once shattered her Emily Tompkins, who humiliated her at prom with a fake kiss she’s never quite gotten over. They both plan to keep their distance, but fate has other plans.

On Christmas Eve, an accidental run-in sends them spiraling through time— straight back to high school prom. What was supposed to be a solo escape for Emily turns into a nightmare reunion. As long-buried truths resurface, Emily’s carefully laid plans begin to unravel.

Can time travel fix the past—or just expose what was always meant to be?

Such an interesting, captivating, and sapphic story! It fueled every emotion by making you chuckle, giving you butterflies, and pulling at your heart strings. I loved it because I could visualize everything happening in my head as if I was watching a movie (this would be a great movie). The storyline was a wonderful enemies to lovers trope with added adventure from aliens and time travel. Definitely a fun read and I recommend it to anyone interested!
