He’s written the book on vulnerability. But living it? That’s a whole different story.
Barrick Wassweiler is no stranger to the spotlight. But after a viral retreat, a surprise book deal, and the unraveling of his most guarded secrets, he’s left standing in the rubble of a life he tried to control. Now, with the release of his deeply personal memoir, the world wants more. More interviews. More access. More of the man they think they understand.
But behind every polished answer is a story he hasn’t told—and a daughter who now lives with him part-time, watching to see if he’ll stay.
Told entirely from Barrick’s POV, Spin Forward is a raw and emotionally charged continuation of The Off-Limits Series. As he navigates therapy, co-parenting, and the terrifying possibility of real joy, Barrick must decide if he’s ready to stop protecting his pain—and start showing up for the people he loves.
Including Hallie. Especially Hallie.
This emotional, soul-deep romance is perfect for fans of slow-burn heat, military veteran heroes, fatherhood arcs, and emotionally healing love stories with heart. If you loved Spin This and Keep Spinning, you’ll fall hard for Barrick’s long-overdue journey back to himself.
L.C. Reagan writes contemporary romances about powerful women, irresistible men, and the kind of forbidden tension that keeps you up all night.
A former book publisher turned storyteller, she’s obsessed with slow burns, scandalous chemistry, and happily ever afters that are worth the fight. When she’s not writing, you can usually find her binging true crime documentaries, wandering a bookstore, or planning her next fictional escape.
L.C. lives for broken rules, high stakes, and the delicious chaos of falling in love when you’re supposed to know better.

Pour me a slow, smoky bourbon, because L.C. Reagan just delivered the kind of romance that burns deep in the chest and lingers long after the last page. Spin Forward, the fourth in The Off-Limits Series, doesn’t just continue Barrick’s story—it cracks him wide open.
This isn’t your standard single-dad romance. Reagan flips the script by giving us Barrick’s full perspective, and trust me, the man has layers. What we get is a raw, vulnerable portrait of fatherhood, healing, and the terrifying thrill of letting yourself be loved. Watching Barrick juggle his role as a devoted dad while confronting his own scars was like sipping something strong—equal parts burn and warmth.
His relationship with his child is the heart of this book, grounding every decision he makes and giving the romance that extra punch of authenticity. And when it comes to love? Whew. Reagan doesn’t write love as an easy escape—she writes it as a risk, a dare, a free fall that requires every ounce of vulnerability. The payoff is as exhilarating as it is emotional.
What I love most here is how Spin Forward feels both essential to the series and powerful enough to stand on its own. It’s not just about two people finding each other—it’s about a man finding himself, finding his strength in softness, and choosing to move forward despite the weight of the past.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.75/5) Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (3/5 — sensual, tender, emotionally charged, with the heat simmering in the right moments rather than overwhelming the story)
Spin Forward is a slow sip kind of book: bold, layered, and hitting you in all the right places. For anyone who craves romance with real emotional depth, this one deserves a top spot on your shelf.
My Rating System:
1⭐️: The book didn’t hold my interest and/or had significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities for me, but generally not my cup of tea. Most likely did not finish the book.
2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations.
3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others.
4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read the book again. Definitely recommendable.
5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!

What an uphill battle of emotions this book was. Barrick was always ready to close off when a new head line emerged or when a topic was brought up that he didn’t want to discuss. What I learned and he did too is when you have the right people in your circle and who continue to show up no matter what, you will be okay and you will be able to lover forward. A big part of this book he learned not only did he need to protect Lucy his daughter but if he didn’t have Hallie there for the ups and downs that he went through he would be a total lost cause. She knew what to say for him not stepping in his toes way but when he didn’t have the words or he was too overwhelmed. Barrick went though a lot of hurdles in this book, the custody battle with charlotte, the move to another state, not knowing if him showing up will be enough to show Lucy that he will always be there and then the man who can’t let things go Jordan with the constant headlines appearing. The best thing Barrick did was call him out and I think he finally realized then how not okay it is to derail others lives and bring in who should be sheltered from this until they understand.
But the way my heart broke when they said goodbye to Lucy, tears in my eyes. Good lord I was so devastated for them all. But I think this next journey will only be brighter and bring a stronger relationship all together.

Spin Forward is part of The Off-Limits Series from L.C. Reagan. We see Barrick’s perspective, who we first met in Spin This. I liked how this story was focused on Barrick.
From a timing perspective, I would like to have seen more description / background in where this part of Barrick’s story falls in the timeline of the other books, including how long it has been from the first book in the series. I think the pace of the story moved a little too slowly.
I liked how we got more of Barrick’s story, journey, path toward healing, and emotions in this book and we saw Hallie and Barrick’s relationship continue to grow.

I liked this… did I love it? Not as much as I would have hoped. It was nice to see Barrick’s perspective, but it just fell a little flat. It was hard to work out where in the timeline this falls, and frankly, there was just too much going on…
Between the ex being a raging witch (with a b) causing custody issues, and the author making sure she gets her way (!!!), along with more and more scandals arising, it was never-ending.
Quick note - I know Jordan’s story is coming up - he’s going to need one h. ell of a redemption arc!.

I am not sure about this book. It took me a couple of chapters to understand that Barrick is writing a type of memoir while trying to cope with his ex-wife taking his daughter to the other side of the country. Then he gets some incident from three years previously to come up again. This book is a bit heavy, having people who really care stand by you and adapting to change. You have to read this to decide for yourself.
