An excellent accompanying book to the V&A East exhibition of the same name, which doesn't replicate the artifacts or pictures but takes us down a journey of the key black genres that influenced the UK scene and then all the UK specific scenes that were created (Lovers Rock. garage, grime etc) with interviews with key personnel and a background essay on each.

I would have liked to have seen some bigger artists being interviewed but they were all fascinating and insightful and sent me down new musical paths.
