Oh goodness, there is a date of death dropdown menu on this form. Do the fine people of goodreads know something that I don't?

I know, another five stars for a Moskowitz cookbook, am I even capable of giving this woman anything less? The answer is no, but this one really deserves six stars.
I love the concept, I love the food photography, I love the recipe notes and hilarious pantry list (but really don't skip it.) I love every gosh darn tasty thing I've made out of it so far.

I started my vegan journey long ago with Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World and learned how to wield a kitchen knife thanks to Vegan with a Vengeance and Veganomicon. It's very fun to see the physical book evolve with the market. Gone are middle of the book insert pictures, and hello to IG worthy shots of every recipe. Hello to glossy pages, goodbye to overnight cashew soaking.

The bold claim that every recipe can be made in 29 minutes is believable when most dishes require little prep and few pans. Personal milage may vary as far as how fast you can dice an onion. That being said this will be my new cookbook for weeknight meals and brunch on the weekends.

Within the first 10% of reading the ebook, I thought for sure that I was going to end up buying a physical copy of it. After finishing it, I’m not sure. There are some super unique recipes in here and some of them sound amazing. As usual, I love the way Isa has written the recipes. I just don’t know if there are enough of the types of recipes I would want from this sort of book. It’s set up by days of the week, but also category. Monday: Sandwiches, Tuesday: Tacos, Wednesday: Soups, Thursday: Salads, Friday: Girl Dinner, Saturday: Plates/Bowls, Sunday: Brunch, Sunday: Pasta, and then also Sweet Treats. Personally, I would have preferred a much larger selection of Plates/Bowls recipes. Honestly, if I could only eat “bowl recipes” for dinner, I’d be happy. A bunch of stuff in a bowl is basically perfect for me. I understand the idea of this layout, but it doesn’t seem practical given the fact that I feel like the majority of people aren’t making 10 different types of tacos and people really aren’t using recipes for girl dinner. That’s antithetical to the whole idea of girl dinner, imo. But what do I know?

I'm really excited to try many of these recipes. They seem accessible, and there's a lot of overlap in ingredients, which is helpful so I'm not buying something for just one dish.

I’m obsessed with this cookbook! The recipes are really fun and simple to make. It’s been great for meal prepping and also making quick, creative dinners.
